First to the positive points: - Location is perfect - Breakfast was lovely - And if you are lucky you have a big bedroom (they were clean) But for this money you will get way better accommodations in Albania. Negative points: - really small dorm with no curtains - bathrooms were really dirty - no toilet seats - staff was not really motivated to work, felt disturbed if you asked something - evening were loud and party atmosphere (was okay because they ended soon)
BED BUGS INFESTATION!! OWNER AGGRESSION - DO NOT STAY!! OWNER is aware of serious bed bugs issue (long-standing and ongoing) and instead of taking responsibility or addressing the issue.. he simply put the blame back on YOU the PAYING CUSTOMER. He has NO INTEREST in your quality of stay or your health, just simply.. YOUR MONEY. Once your infested bed has been cleared following a night of attacks and bites the sheets are simply changed.. and next guest unknowingly enters the filth
nice Hostel with very Friendly staff, though the Hostel is really small and it is a Bit pricey for the small Space But all in all nice atmosphere and nice people The included breakfast is a nice bonus
Friendly staff, but be warned that the facilities are very worn-down and not inviting, in particular the toilets/bathrooms and the tiny kitchen. I only stayed for one night. I strongly recommend you book your stay at the Sea Cave Camping instead :)
It is quite clean and comfortable in general. The hosts are nice. However, the room is small. Only have 2 bathrooms (toilets) so sometimes will need to wait. The hostel does not have much entertainment, possibly more suitable for people who enjoy going out for drinks, feeling a bit left out when that is not my thing. For 25€/night, I will be expecting more.
Staff is great here, very kind and welcoming. Location is perfect. However the hostel is small, there’s not much going on, no activities or anything. Would only recommend for people who want to relax with a small group.
The hostel feels a bit run down, especially the toilets that had a lot of black mold, and smelled icky. The room was nice (but did only have a tiny window), and the location was very good
It was okay overall, people were nice and friendly but I wouldn't give it a 10.
Friendly staff!!! Free breakfast was a shout
Not very modern or clean, for example bathroom often flooded, beside socket not working. However this is a social hostel, it’s very easy to meet people there. If you want to hang out at the hostel with other 20 something long-term travellers, this is your place. I would definitely choose this over sunbakers or don hostel.

an excellent hostel! i stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful trip. despite the hostel being quiet due to start of season and weather! i was made very welcome by Spiro and his Mother. very welcoming atmosphere, they were very kind and accomodating; even getting me a burek and some fruit for my last day as my bus was early :') the breakfasts are incredible and made with love! nice social atmosphere and spiro even offered us some homemade raki!! spotless.1 small thing no blind in room, bring mask
I was the first check in of the season and ended up having a dorm to myself. Place is in a great location, Spiro the owner is incredibly helpful and it had a real family vibe. Highly recommend this place
Stayed a week in early-mid November. On side: Close to everything essential to a traveler: groceries, beach, bus station, restaurant. Tiny kitchen has all cooking utensils, fridge, 2 e-stoves and 2 e-kettles. Clean everywhere. Quiet bedrooms. 2 washrooms with hot shower. Can pay to use washing machine. Fast wifi Free simple breakfast. Nice owner and volunteer Maddy. Off side: No sunshine Kitchen can hardly stand 2 people No microwave No shower curtain No bed light Bunk bed ladder not fixed
Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt in Himarë. Man kann nur bar bezahlen! Toiletten ohne Klobrille sind unangenehm, Stockbetten wackeln beim umdrehen. Alles ist echt sehr eng!
Small, lovely and family-run hostel in a very good location in the relaxed atmosphere of Himarë. Breakfast is fantastic and is lovingly prepared every day by the Mama. The beds are comfortable and have (under) curtains. The cleanliness, security, proximity to the sea and the bus stop are super! I have felt very comfortable in Himarë. You can only pay bar! Toilets without Klobrille are uncomfortable, the Stockbetten sway very much. Everything is really eng
Owner top, he's super friendly, really always on site and also has very good recommendations to basically everything, what one could come up with questions on such an Albania trip. It's all quite small and clear, which makes it easy to get in touch with other people. Generally very familiar and neat vibe. Cleanliness is okay :) The kitchen is extremely small, we haven't used it, but you eventually have to wait until you can cook your own. Breakfast is included.
Highly recommend and would stay here again! Super nice vibe to the hostel and owner is a legend! Best location to be in town too
Super cozy and peaceful place, we slept really well and always felt very safe. The people were great. It’s such a lovely family run business, the host was super attentive and helped us a lot with local recommendations and his mom made us the best local breakfast every morning. Amazing place to stay! 💛
Nice small backpacker vibed hostel few mins from the beach. The free breakfast was great and different each day I stayed. I believe this place is family and volunteer run- all the staff was great. the bed was comfy enough, though I was scared to roll off the top bunk. wish there was more then two bathrooms and the kitchen was quite small. would recommend for the location though. had free drinking water. laundry available for a fee. outdoor area for socializing and a smoke was great.
It was a cute tiny hostel. Very central, the staff was great. The rooms where quite small but it was just 2 of us there so it was okay. The staff was lovely though.

Very good location. Staff were beyond lovely and helpful. Free breakfast was amazing. Atmosphere was social and relaxed!
The dorms were really nice and spacious with chargers for each bed, and curtains. The outdoor space was also really super and good for chilling and meeting other travellers. The hosts/owners were really friendly and helpful, giving me some advice about travel. I found the toilet situation a bit odd in that one shower didn't have a curtain, with the result of everything getting wet. This could easily have been fixed.... 🤷 The toilets also didn't have seats or lids, which was a bit odd...
Amazing stay especially the staff and volunteers. Great location so close to the beach. Great breakfast included also nicely social
My fav hostel in Albania, and probably all of Europe!! Great vibes from the owners, volunteers and guests, perfect location, best hostel breakfast, comfortable rooms and common area. Booked 2 nights but stayed 5, would 100% recommend!!
Himara Downtown Hostel is not just a Hostel - it became home. It's such a cute little place in the middle of town, around the corner is the beach - Perfect! I loved my stay
very good hostel
Such a great place, 2min from the beach. Breakfast is made by the sweet lady and the volunteers are great for fun hangouts. It’s a smaller family hostel, perfect with a chill and friendly vibe.
Great little hostel, good social vibe. Great staff

Really friendly owner. The breakfast was really great! Bathrooms are only okay
