Awful. Bed bugs.

I enjoyed the people here and my stay in general but unfortunately ended up being in a room infested with bed bugs.. There was so so many throughout everyone’s beds.

DO NOT STAY HERE They have bed bugs here - 3 people on our booking got bed bugs and the staff was so rude when it was brought up and refused to acknowledge it was bed bugs (it was confirmed by a Dr). Staff was so so rude and unhelpful. It seemed like we were a massive inconvenience and they were pretty hostile throughout our stay. They charge a large deposit for the towels and claim it if there’s ANY sort of dirt on it - just a scam to be honest. The rooms are very cramped, dirty and there’s terrible storage. Bathrooms frequently were out of toilet paper and didn’t seemed to be cleaned. There is really zero vibes here, no events - just the beer which is served by very hostile staff. Do yourself a favour and spend the few extra $$ to stay at Mad Monkey - waaaaay better location and vibe. 😂 See very performative response below - if only they put this much effort into cleaning and getting rid of bed bugs!

I think I got bed bugs there but I’m not entirely sure. Other than that it’s actually really nice. There are two very cute dogs so that’s always nice

A good hostel, although it was very quiet and not all that sociable when we were there. Some rooms were closed for fumigation, probably due to previous reports of bed bugs. Our room was absolutely fine, and very clean and comfy; but a little on the cramped side for 6 people. There's a nice common area with a pool table and a swimming pool. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The location is pretty good - easy walking distance from the main street and all the stuff in Vang Vieng. The hostel offered some trips and tours, but we noticed that they were slightly more expensive than other hostels, so we booked elsewhere.

Great place if you are looking for a place other than a party hostel. Still very social and comfortable. Sadly a lot of the rooms started to get bed bugs while I was there. Luckily not mine. But it might be something to check before you book. But the beds were very comfortable, and a nice shower room was included in every dorm. The location was also very good. One of the best local restaurants and clubs were both right around the corner.

DAs hostel ist sehr social. Leider gab es eine Bettwanzen plage als wir ankamen und wurden nicht darüber vom personal informiert. Erst durch andere hostel Mitbewohner haben wir mitbekommen dass bereits 6 Zimmer gesperrt werden mussten. Geht in meinen Augen gar nicht! Wenigstens konnten wir unsere Betten für die nächsten nächte stornieren und haben das geld dafür zurück bekommen. Wäscherei wurde auch vom hostel übernommen, wir mussten allerdings nach allem fragen und es wurde nicht selbstverständlich angeboten. Die zimmer sind teilweise Renovierungsbedürftig.

Really disappointed with our stay Chill house. We (the two of us staying) got up early to do a sunrise hot air balloon ride & grab breakfast but when we came back after at 9:30am to have a nap (as we hadn’t slept well the night before and weren’t feeling the best) they were stripping all the curtains and beds in our room to do a “routine deep clean” which we were not informed about ahead of time. They said it would take at least 2-3 hours and said we could nap by the pool instead (It was 30° so a bit too hot to comfortably nap). They seemed a bit fishy and then started removing all the curtains and mattresses from the room. I then found a note from one of our hostel mates that 3 of them had found bed bugs during the night and that they had checked out that morning. We asked the staff multiple times why they were doing this and they just kept saying it was a “routine deep clean”. When I showed them the note about the bed bugs, they were not helpful and still tried to defy/hide the situation (as they left our stuff open in the same room they were taking all the sheets off in. I totally understand that bed bugs happen anywhere and can be out of hostel’s control, but what really bothered us was being lied to multiple times about a situation that ultimately affected us. We ended up leaving early and not paying more than the deposit. Aside from this incident, the vibes were just off. I informed them ahead of time that we would be arriving late at night via our van to which they replied “Thanks for letting us know!” and then they still tried to charge us a late check in fee when we left (again with no prior communication). The facilities are very subpar compared to other hostels in the area for a similar or even cheaper price. The other hostels and even hotels in the area offer free breakfast and have a pool as well. There are rule signs everywhere that are anything but chill lol. Literally the only good thing about this hostel is the location (but Vang Vieng is so small and easy to get around that location doesn’t matter too much), and there are tons of other stays in the same area.

Alerte : Puces de Lits. L'hostel est bien placé, petit déj dispo sur place avec un prix raisonnable. Piscine sur place Malheureusement avec les filles de la chambre P, nous avons trouvé des puces de lits lors de notre 2e nuit (bed bugs). Les draps étaient un peu tachés de sang.. Les filles sont allées voir la réception pour les prévenir à minuit, et ils ont dits qu'ils pouvaient rien faire ce soir car tout le monde dort. Après ils ont proposé de changer les draps. Mais malheureusement ce n'est pas le traitement adapté. Nous sommes donc 4 à quitter l'hostel ce matin.

me and my friend woke up at 2am to bed bugs crawling all over us - when we told the staff they weren’t really surprised and just gave us antspray we looked for a different place to stay in the middle of the night the next day we went there to ask dor a refund - non of the staff apologised they just asked if we have evidence wouldn’t recommend at all
