Jungle Hostel Koh Tao

WORST HOSTEL I’VE EVER STAYED AT: FULL OF TOILET SMELL INSIDE ROOM + COCKROACHES + BED BUGS + CONSTRUCTION NOISE. Also, the owner charges you money upfront and then gets drunk and threatens you with physical violence when you complain that the room and the property basically looks like a slum compared to what’s advertised on the site. In my 15 years of backpacking, this hostel and its staff has to be the SINGLE WORST experience I’ve ever had. DON’T FALL for the fake 5 star reviews that the owner is having his friends write to overcompensate for all the actual negative ones😂 (also notice how he personally attacks negative reviewers in his response for even mentioning basic things like non-working toilets and sinks, cockroaches, bed bugs etc.) This hostel is basically a subpar, slum-level establishment that neither provides you a proper bed, curtains, privacy, nor toilets with working sinks and shower. Also, full of cockroaches, bed bugs and bad toilet smell inside the room. The owner is also an erratic, aggressive person who lashes out at any reasonable criticism of his room. As someone who has spent a LOT of time in Thailand, I can confirm that DO NOT stay in this slum even as a last ditch option unless it’s priced at under 200 baht because there’s no way anybody in their reasonable mind should pay good money for this dirty, smelly, noisy mess. P.S.~ I stayed only one of the 3 nights that I paid for in advance and the OWNER CHEATED ME WHEN IT CAME TO RETURNING MY MONEY.
