Hostel Taormina "Homstel"

Beautiful property, the terrace was lovely and the rooms were great. This would be a very high review except I’m almost positive I got bed bugs here so that dampened the experience.

Bed bugs alert !! This hostel is the dirtiest I've been to in Sicily. It's dramatic.. from the mattresses, the weak beds, the kitchen, and the bathroom (can't even sit on the toilet as there is rust on some of them). I found some bed bugs in my bed during the night, i decided to quickly pack my stuff and leave at 4am. I requested a refund. They refused to refund me saying I was the one bringing the bed bugs here. Not a very professional way to deal with issues aye! No more bites since I left tho

Full of bedbugs!! Stayed one night it ruined my life for 3 years after!! Had to pay thousands of euros to get rid of them because they stay in the luggage!! Horrible and they keep on taking people..dishonest horrible people!! What a shame

The place is pretty nice but it wasn’t very clean and I found a bedbug in my bed… Maybe there was only one but it was already too much for me… sorry but it’s not a good review

It is a cute Hostel but it wasn‘t very clean. Also we saw one bedbug.

BED BUGS!!! Hidden fee’s (not advertised) and poor customer service. > foul pungent odour of bed and pillows (Very old & stained) > when confronted regarding the bed bugs, they were verbally abusive, dismissive and rude. No refund provided and I was thrown out of the hostel. Not professional. >Bar is unmanned. Takes about 30minutes to get someone to come serve a beer. “Welcome to Italy” said the manager as I walked out.

It breaks my heart to say it because I love this place and the wonderful staff, but they have a bedbug problem.

Great people but awful bedbugs :-(
