I Truly Enjoyed my Time at the Toraya House. It felt like home and I already miss it.

We had an amazing time in Toraya. Our host was really lovely and fun. She even drove us on a trip in the evening and cooked with us. We didn’t go to Nagano city center, but spent the days in the local area walking around, trying onsens and relaxing at the guest house. Really cool place, where japanse turists come too, since it’s a known guesthouse based on the concept of a film (she will tell you more).

A proper Japanese guest house in an area with mostly domestic tourists. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Nori san is an amazing host! She is super friendly. She gave me lots of information about restaurants and onsens nearby. There are many onsens around TORAYA, and many of them are tattoo friendly. The nearest onsen from Toraya is only 1 mins walk away. And that onsen is open very early in the morning till late at night. I stayed only one night, but that wasn't enough. I slept in a female dorm with comfortable bed. It was really good atmosphere. I will defiantly come back again to stay TORAYA.

The owner Nori-san was so nice and she showed us many places to see! The lounge was very cozy and felt like we’re welcomed! There are Onsen nearby and good Izakaya, karaoke bar as well. We would recommend this place if you wanna experience local atmosphere and definitely love to come back in the future:) Thank you so much!

I really enjoyed my stay at Guesthouse Toraya. It’s located in a quiet onsen town with friendly locals. There’s even an amazing onsen just around the corner! The living area is cozy, there’s a large kitchen/dining room (with beer on tap), and the beds are comfortable. Our host, Norisan, was so lovely and generous. Her dog is also very cute! I definitely recommend staying here while in Nagano.

Exceptional hostel with incredibly hospitable staff. The rooms are spotless and well-equipped with AC, ensuring a comfortable stay. The location is ideal, just a short stroll from local pubs and a fantastic onsen. The overall atmosphere is wonderfully chill and laid-back. The owner is not only friendly but also offers fantastic recommendations for exploring the area. Outstanding value for money. Highly recommend!
