The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our room had bed bugs. While we did get a refund the manager told us 'you should be careful where you stay' and implied that we had brought the bed bugs to the room! Given that none of us had had a single bite until we got into bed that night, I call BS. Also, if you read some of the other low star reviews here you will see that other people had also had bed bugs. Avoid this place!

Friendly, helpful staff and a lovely outdoor space! Sadly found bed bugs so left immediately - was given a refund which was appreciated!

Nice stuff, but BED BUGS !

Awful experience here! It started off being a pleasant experience with the young staff being very friendly. We had booked out a 7 bed room (there were a lot of us) we were shown to a room with someone already in there and with the air con apparently broken. Then one of our friends got bitten multiple times after spending 10 minutes in the room. After reading multiple reviews complaining about bed bugs, we decided to ask the owner who immediately became angry and hostile. After this we decided we wanted to leave, which is when the lady became aggressive. She started verbally abusing us and saying she would call the police if we didn’t stay. She then decided to take one our bags (containing a MacBook) ’hostage’ and said we couldn’t leave because it was about ‘more than money now’. She said she would call her boys on us and started pushing one of us as we tried to retrieve the bag. She finally snapped and threw the bag at one of our heads, at which point we left. By far the worst experience we had in Albania which is a shame because the outside area of the hostel seemed nice and the young staff were very friendly. However the lady in charge was incredibly angry and rude so that (along with the bed bugs) would mean I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anyone …

Would not recommend this place. It has a fun garden and place to chill outside, but we found bed bugs in different rooms of the hotel. When we told the owners of the hostel, they immediately accused us of bringing them in and kept repeating this story, even after telling her this was not possible since we slept in campings for a whole week before our stay in the hostel. We therefore left the hostel earlier.

Need to start with cons because it's important for everyone to know: Not very clean (BED BUGS!!!) Last night I saw a bedbug crawling on my pillow! I took photos, told the staff and they immediately helped me switch rooms. However, after inspecting my new bed, I found another bed bug?! I was moved to my 3rd and last available room and had a bad sleep worrying. Pros are that staff were very kind helpful. Just sucks that the bed bugs ruined my next day of travel plans as I needed to find laundromat

Excellent hostel near the downtown core. The owners & volunteers working there were incredibly helpful and super kind! If i'm ever back in Tirana I wouldn't even second guess where I'd want to stay. The recent reviews talk about bed bugs but I didn't experience any so it could be an isolated incident depending on the room.

Had bites on my legs and found a bed bug in my mattress after one night. The owner did not take it seriously. At my repeated insistence he gave me a cash refund, but told me that I complained too much and compared my situation to a girl who had complained because an older man in the room had tried to kiss her (he gave that man a fist bump in front of me). Visibly dirty rooms and bathrooms, dirt on the walls and mold in the showers. Volunteers were nice but staff/owner was beyond rude and unsafe.

I decided to give 4 stars to this place because all the staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful in everything you need. I even lost the key to a padlock and they broke it for me. In the end, when you travel, you appreciate all kind of help. Also because the breakfast was very good, they offered local products with a lot of quality. The bad thing was the facilities, but being a budget hostel and for the price I paid, I couldn’t expect too much and I understand it. The mattresses are very thin and the pillows are very hard and it’s difficult to rest, for one night it’s Ok but for more nights, you have to be a very easy going backpacker, the bathrooms were not completely clean, although I realized that the staff did everything possible to keep everything as clean as possible. And finally and unfortunately the most unpleasant thing about my experience is that I was bitten by bed bugs... it’s my first time in a year traveling in Europe. I never stay in very cheap hostels because I know that can happen, but this one had good reviews and I decided to trust. But I guess it’s part of the experience. In general, the vibe of the hostel and the staff is very good and I repeat that for the price you pay, I guess it’s Ok.

Everything was really good, from the atmosphere to the staff. One problem, my bed had bed bugs & I think the stag knew but never told me. Now I’m paying for it as I’m covered in bed bug bites. So be mindful of your beds
