Planet Traveler Hostel

It's ok but expensive for what it is. Check in very informative and welcoming. Location is OK but Toronto is huge so be prepared to travel. Bit of a sketchy neighbourhood with homeless etc. and no staff or security on site between midnight - 7am which is poor in a big city. Room mates were terrible but that's not the hostels fault really. Beds pretty comfy but only one small bathroom in each dorm. I wouldn't stay again tbh.

There are several issues, so I would like to speak to someone.

I left after 1 night, even though I paid for 2. Do not stay in a pod room. No one spoke to the point it was eery, and when someone in another pod moved the whole structure would creak loudly. I couldn’t sleep at all. I was also a young woman placed alone with two middle aged men. The hostel was not full so I think even with a co-ed room, staff should be mindful of where they place women for safety. I’d recommend NOT doing co-ed as a woman in this hostel. It was not a fun experience.

Overall, my stay was disappointing. The 8-bed dorm room was extremely small, with very little space to move around. The beds were connected in one structure, so when one person moved, all the beds moved, which made it difficult to sleep well. There was also only one shower for eight people, which felt insufficient. Another issue was a male staff member entering the female dorm without asking while bringing a new guest. At that moment I was packing souvenirs into my suitcase, and he commented ...

Le personnel est agréable sauf pour les langues, ils ne parlent pas français, c'est dommage mais je comprends.

Everything was mostly great however the room I was in was extremely hot and stuffy and I couldn't sleep at all. Just check if the room has AC first before fully checking in 😬

The heating didn't work in our suite/room the entire December weekend we stayed at Planet Traveler. The front desk staff member who we pointed this out to after our first night offered us an extra blanket in lieu of moving us to a different room or having the heating fixed. The facilities are in a general state of disrepair (heating/cooling issues, peeling carpet wedging the third floor corridor door shut, damaged bathroom flooring exposing construction dust underneath).

Pros: Staff service was excellent, breakfast was unlimited, good place to socalise. Cons: Dorm of 6 was too small and with poor ventilation. I would look elsewhere.

Incredible place, great staff, super organized and clean! Easy access by public transportation and very cozy and friendly vibe.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Very clean, pods were very comfortable and private, staff were fantastic, met some great people. Monday trivia was great. Thank you!

Spacious, clean, and generally secure. The staff is very friendly, and I love how they have a female-only dorm option. I recommend it to anyone!

Super auberge, propre et confort ! Par contre prévoyez un masque de sommeil car il y a beaucoup de lumière dans la chambre (fenêtre sans rideau)

My favorite hostel by far

Best Hostel I ever stayed in! The ppl are great, it’s such a good atmosphere and the rooftop terrace is a big bonus as well. 10/10

As a first experience in a hostel, it is difficult to make comparisons here. Basically, I have been really satisfied and hope that all hostels can maintain such a standard. Unfortunately, despite the super location, there are too many suspicious people on the streets, so that you do not always feel comfortable... Unfortunately, even not changeable by the hostel.

I’ll start with the bad- no common area opened after midnight was weird for me. This is something to rethink! The hostel is located close to public transit and a lively area for eating/drinking/partying so I liked that. It doesn’t get loud inside though which is good. Free breakfast and nightly events are great! Something to note is that aside from the ensuite washroom there was only one other toilet on the floor so plan out you showering schedule with your roommates I guess lol.

Super hostel que je recommande vivement. Super personnel avenant et souriant, pleins d'activités cool pour rencontrer du monde et rire un bon moment, un rooftop de folie avec une vue magnifique sur le centre ville. Si je devais revenir ce serait certainement mon premier choix.

Tres bien

Location was very convenient, very close to the streetcars. Staff was very friendly, they helped me with all of my inquiries. They also have a very friendly and cute dog. The common area was always very lively, it's very easy to meet people. There's paid laundry. Bed was very comfortable. The only downsides would be that there are no curtains around the beds and also the number of bathrooms are very little but I never had a problem regarding these. Definitely recommend!

It's a nice hostel overall. Just couple things that could make it even better. Firstly, a curtain for each bed is strongly recommended cuz sometimes ppl forget to close the curtain of the window and sometimes other ppl's light might also interfere. Secondly, if there are some paper towels in the kitchen, it will be much more convenient than just hand towels. Lastly, most hostels still provide body wash and shampoo, but not this hostel. It would be nice if we don't have to travel with these.

Such a welcoming place with everything you need to enjoy Toronto. They regularly organize great activities that make it easy to meet other travelers. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Toronto!

Le staff est super accueillant et fait un très bon travail. L'auberge est propre et accueillante, un grand espace de partage très agréable et la cuisine est bien équipée et spacieuse. Les chambres pourraient être mieux équipées en rangement mais elles sont propres. L'auberge est assez bien située.

i absolutely loved my stay, the only downside is that the bed made too much noise whenever I moved, which made me a little scared about annoying others. Otherwise the stay was excellent

Erg prettig hostel om te verblijven. Personeel is aardig, het is schoon en het ontbijt is meer dan prima.

Absolut starkes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Super freundliche Mitarbeiter, ein Chef der jeden Freitag ein BBQ for free veranstaltet und auch sonst ist jeden Abend irgendwas geboten. Das Frühstück geht absolut klar. Alles in allem eine großartigen Unterkunft, die auch sehr sauber ist. Es gibt 9 Parkplätze für 15$ pro Nacht
