The hostel is cute, the bathroom was clean, the chill area is nice. You can reach the beach with a 25 min walk (steep hill) or you have to rely on the staff to drive you. The girls at the bar were rude and not helpful. The two owners were nice but one evening they drank with other people and we didn’t feel very comfortable around them. The food was basic with only a few options. The bed sheets were a bit dirty, the dorm wasn’t well kept. For a 9.5 rating on hostelworld we expected something ...
The staff is amazing and they are very friendly and try their best. The rooms are cold with the aircon, which is nice. The pictures of the beach are misleading. If you don’t have a scooter and need to walk you have to walk up an incredibly steep hill and then all the way down again. (25-30mins in the heat). No water presssure or no water WiFi is not accessible in the dorms and there is no phone connection (smart and globe). WiFi is switched off at night.
I wouldn't stay here unless you have your own transport. It's a long way from the beach and there's nothing else around. The hostel was empty when I was there and they had a lot of issues with powercuts. Staff were lovely and food was good. Ideal for a one-night stay if you're travelling between places.
the privat room was small but nice. location is quite far from everything, and the nearest beach is only walkable if you like trekking steep hills. otherwise i would definitely recommend a scooter. i thought from the pictures there is a nice view from the hostel, but its a viewpoint where you also have to walk a steep hill for like 20 min. the food was ok but not great. all in all a ok stay, but would not go back.
The hostel is very remote, meaning even getting to a shop for snacks is an effort. The beach nearby is amazing but if you’re here for a few days it can get boring very quick. The private rooms have no AC so can be extremely hot and uncomfortable. Additionally there is no ATM for miles around and they only accept cash, so bring plenty with you. If being away from everything is your thing then you should stay here. If not then look at places in the main town.
I had a good experience here overall, especially because of the amazing staff. But keep in mind that it’s remote and difficult to get to, so the atmosphere depends on who’s also staying. Good options are also very limited in the area.
Definitely in the middle of nowhere which we enjoyed the remoteness of it, the women who runs the hostel is so lovely and sorted out trips for our entire stay which was so helpful. Worth noting I was the only female in the entire hostel and a lot of the men are middle aged/older so I didn’t enjoy the s** talk behind me in the social area.
Nice spot if you want to get out of the touristy areas. Food at the hostel was quite good. The beaches in the area are amazing. You can get the hosts to arrange a tuktuk to the main highway and catch a bus to El Nido.

the property is in need of dire improvement coz it's lack of maintenance and room needs to be thoroughly clean as well. it is simple but has everything you need for practical purposes. tbh,I really like the location. it’s close to Nagtabon and Talaudyong Beach and not too far from Puerto Princesa town and the Underground River. Overall i would still recommend the place and would consider staying here again.
B&R Hostel & Bar is run by 3 incredible sisters. I was only there 2 nights and wish I had stayed longer. The accommodation - hut in my case - was perfect, food very good, 10 minute walk to the viewpoint, 25 mins walk to Nagtabon Beach. If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city / town then come here for good company. Rosa & Luke thank you for making me feel so welcome....
This was our first spot in palwan and we loved it! The staff is so nice and helpfull. Our room looked the same as the pictures and the shared showers and toilets were clean. Be aware that In the night there can be a lot of animal voices because the hostel is in nature. Still We slept so good there. Staff helps you plan beach days or other activities. They helped us to get in port barton too! This was the best place to start our trip!
Super chill stay, with great personal. Shoutout to the girls! First you get what you pay for, nothing special. You need a motorbike! Get one in Puerto, probably the easiest way. Stayed in a 8 bed mixed dorm, but no more than 3 people where there during my stay. I think the 2 bed private rooms are really good. Restrooms are okay and mostly clean. The way to the beach is 20min by foot, but a super steep hill. Bar / Restaurant is good, food was really good. Just enjoy the beaches there!
I enjoyed my stay here very much!! The staff are amazing, place is clean and beautiful. Simple but has all you need.

This women-run hostel is so serene and calm! The dorm needs a deep clean in all senses, but the bathroom facilities are kept clean every fortnight. The girls are very nice and helpful, you really get to connect with them and enjoy the perks of rural life. It's quite off the beaten track so expect slow days, and early nights :)
Nice spot if you want to get out of the touristy areas. Food at the hostel was quite good. The beaches in the area are amazing. You can get the hosts to arrange a tuktuk to the main highway and catch a bus to El Nido.
The best hostel! The girls are lovely and were like family by the end of my stay. The location is also great with Nactabon beach close by. Loved my stay here
Had such a lovely time at B&R hostel - Its low season so was a bit quiet but the three sisters made me feel really at ease. I don't ride motorbikes so the area wasn't really easy to navigate but the sisters arranged great transport when I ventured out. The local beach is really lovely and a 20 minute walk away. The hostel has a tiny puppy and have rescued a street dog called Panda who is the sweetest!! she will be you local guide as she follows guests around ❤️😂
Just had an amazing stay at this lovely hostel in the Philippines. It had just reopened after being closed for a couple of months, and we were the first guests back. Even though it was quiet and we had the place to ourselves, it was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere was super friendly, and there’s a cozy vibe that just makes you feel at home. This hostel will definitely get busy again soon it’s great! Thank you Recel and Laica for being so helpful.
Late review but one of the coolest hostels I have stayed in. laid back vibe with amazing people running it.
Such a cute hostel with amazing staff and a good vibe. It’s genuinely in the middle of nowhere which is part of its charm and Sheila took great care of me when I was the only one staying. Showers were a highlight as well as the food. Had the best time!
Would definitely recommend staying in this hostel over a hostel in the city. We spent 1 afternoon in the city and that was more than enough. This hostel is very close to 2 very quiet and beautiful beaches: Talaudyong (15 minute scooter ride), which was one of the nicest beaches we’ve seen in the Philippines, and Nagtabon (20 minute walk/5 minute scooter ride). Not too social in our experience, but the staff was very nice. Overall had a great relaxing 2 day stay.
Had a great time as my last stop of my 3 month journey! I just wanted chill on the beach and relax before going back home and this was the perfect place for that. Always nice to chat with other guests and the awesome hosts during breakfast or dinner. Good surfing aswell
The hosts are super nice and helpful people. You feel very welcome, and it's very family-like. We would come back anytime.
Very friendly and helpful hosts, were very kind to me and helped me get around the area, a must stop in the area🤘🏻
B&R is amazing: the dorm and the showers are clean, the commun area is really cool and social. Shiela and Shya are amazing host! Thank you once again for everything and Hope to see you soon :)
