Ich kann die negativen Erfahrungen der letzten Wochen nicht teilen, ja es gab in einem Zimmer Bed Bugs das ist gerade gesperrt und wird professionell von einer Firma bekämpft. Es wurde mir sogar im system gezeigt „fire room“ der geblockt ist. Mein Zimmer war super clean, ein Vorhang vor dem Bett wäre gut im Dorm. Das Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich von der Rezeption bis zur Bar und dem Reinigungspersob hilfsbereit…und es gab super tipps bei allen Belangen. Sie haben sogar umsonst meine nasse Wäsche getrocknet. Ich komme gerne wieder.

The location is really nice and super chill. But that's all the good I can say about this hostel. Me and my friend woke up with an extreme itchiness and a lot of weird bumps and spots on our body. We checked our beds and literally found some bedbugs in our bed. When we told the staff they were lauging and denying the fact what we found the bugs in our bed. They saw the bugs and were lying that it actually was a bedbug. We didn't got a refund or something else. DON'T GO TO THIS HOSTEL!

Unfortunately there are bed bugs in this hostel. We were put into the 8 bed dorm and whilst in there another guest noticed bed bugs on her bed and let us know which is when we started to notice them on our beds too. We informed the guy on reception and he was quick to respond and moved us into another room. The hostel was almost full so both of us couples had to share single beds in a different dorm room. They did refund us both for one bed each which is the least they could do. The next morning cleaners were properly cleaning the room and mattresses with very strong smelling chemical spray which was good to see although I reckon the mattresses just need to be replaced! Obviously a bad ongoing issue in this hostel from reading previous reviews so they shouldn’t really be letting people stay in the room until it’s fully resolved but at least they handled it fairly well and had a couple spare beds for us to sleep in. If you can stay elsewhere I would recommend you do to avoid the bed bugs!

Bed bugs :/ they gave a refund and offered a different room but wasn’t stoked about how they weren’t telling people they had bed bugs when they arrived and trying to do a bit of a blame game - definitely a wicked spot for a party though!

BED BUGS – DO NOT STAY HERE I stayed at this hostel and the room was severely infested with bed bugs. In the middle of the night, multiple people woke up with bugs crawling on them—every bed was infested and bugs were all over our belongings. There was no reception at night, so at 12am we had to find another place to stay. The next morning, staff blamed us, refused refunds (even for unused nights), and said this was “normal.” We later learned they had the same issue two nights earlier and still checked new guests into the room without cleaning or fumigation. They offered to wash clothes but had no dryer, and we could literally see bed bugs on their “clean” sheets. Disgusting and unsafe. Even after this, they checked more people into the same room. Avoid this place unless you want bed bugs and zero accountability.

BED BUGS 🪳🚨 Our beds were infested with bed bugs, which were crawling on us in the night. Staff ignored us, lied to us, and even gaslit us by saying it was “a rumour” and “in our heads” - before admitting their long-term bug problem! We later found out the entire dorm before us had left due to bites, yet they still checked us in. We had to pay to disinfect all our belongings which they refused to refund. They knowingly let guests sleep in infested beds. Disgusting and completely irresponsible

Do not stay — bed bugs. Great vibe, but our stay was ruined by a serious bed bug infestation and poor management. The owner blamed us despite prior reports, reused the room after minimal cleaning, dismissed the issue as “normal,” and we had to push for a refund. When I returned to take photos, the owner grabbed my arm and threatened to call the police. Really scary. Would avoid this place.

Got bedbugs while staying in this hostel (room Fuego). Do not book here until they’ve fixed this. It seems the staff were aware of this issue but still let us check into the room. It was also a hassle to get a partial refund, the owner was not understanding at all at first. His wife was way more understanding and handled it neatly. The location and amenities of the hostel were nice though. Not super social when I was there but maybe that was due to the group there.

À fuir.. nous avons réservé 2 nuits en dortoir et ce fut une grande déception.. la saleté, (notamment de la salle de bains), les coupures d’électricité / d’eau, et nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise de découvrir des punaises de lit au réveil.. Le cadre est néanmoins joli et l’emplacement est bon.

First, we arrived and noone was at the reception. We tried to call, the phone was on the counter in front of us.... Next : rooms are full of bedbugs and were really dirty when we arrived. We called the reception as soon as we saw the bed bugs it was only 21.30. Noone answered, we had to sleep fully covered. The morning after we had to ask the employees to change the sheets and clean the room + they apparently put a product to kill them However it was the same the next night... They asked us to change room but obviously the whole hostel is infected as we saw other guest's legs full of bites. On top of that, the pool was not clean and there was street dogs IN THE HOSTEL barking during the night and going inside the rooms. Avoid this place!!

I stayed at Rio Elemento from July 4th to 6th, and within just two nights I suffered nearly 100 bed bug bites. The resulting intense itching lasted for days and severely affected my comfort. I found a massive infestation between the bed frame and the wall – with visible bugs, eggs, shed skins, and feces. What’s worse: Previous reviews had already mentioned bed bugs, meaning this is a known problem that has been ignored. The staff didn’t apologize, took no action, and failed to warn other guests. I only received a partial refund after contacting Booking.com. Such a level of hygiene failure and disregard for guest safety is absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs.

We stayed in a private room which was clean and nice. Staff were all friendly and breakfast was good. We were there midweek and it was quiet. Super easy and close to walk to the main street. Friend said pool was a bit neglected but no bedbugs to report!

Really nice hostel with a really large outdoor area. I was really quite surprised by how big the place was. Sadly tho, the reception staff aren’t too competent and do not seem to take their jobs, or guests’ comments and remarks, seriously. The most serious issue we ran into were the bed bugs. Multiple were seen and it took a lot of convincing to inform the staff that they were there, even though they had been seen in previous week(s), as mentioned in other reviews. Not sure why the staff is/was so reluctant to respond properly, but we found that quite weird. Whole dorm was shifted to another hostel and money returned eventually, but it just took too long for them to take us and our photos seriously. Besides the bed bugs, beds get double booked and/or people get appointed to wrong beds. In itself not a big deal but then the reception people often aren’t around to take care of things. Lastly, somehow there seems to be no 24hr point of contact here, which is kinda annoying if aforementioned double booking of beds happens at night or if you just arrive late.

we had a turbulent stay here. they mixed up the dorm beds which led to an incident with an other traveller before going to sleep, as there were 2 people assigned to the same bed, but there was no one at the reception in the evening. the second night before going to sleep we discovered bed bugs. we were offered a different hostel where we could stay. the day after the personal denied the fact that there were bed bugs. eventually got a refund, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Nice hostel but bed bugs were rife.. fumigators had to come in just a few days ago. Getting a drink at the bar was a pretty long process too. Otherwise was nice but still a little pricey.

Good location, nice facilities (pool and river area are both nice), and the bathrooms were fine. However my bed (7 bed dorm) appeared to have bedbugs, and the bar played really loud music til 3am. Fine if you want to party, but not great if you’re getting up early to hike as I was. Other downsides - they charge you 3k per day for coffee tea and water even if you don’t use it, and they charge 5% if you use card. Much nicer places to stay in town, with similar facilities, so I wouldn’t recommend.

Bed Bugs !!! I found bed bugs in my bed and woke up full with bites on my legs. I went to the reception to let them know and I am not to sure if they took me seriously. When I passed the room an hour earlier the bed was already made for the next person. I don’t think they did anything in this time. The Hostel itself is super pretty and the outdoor space is amazing. They also do free activities every day. If they sort the bed bug situation out I would definitely give them 5 Stars .

J’ai réservé pour 3 nuit et j’ai dû partir au bout du 2e jour parce que mon lit était infesté de punaise de lit. Aucune solution trouver pas la réception.

DO NOT STAY HERE. BED BUGS!!!!I got eaten alive by bed bugs and every other person person there had the same experience.

Really Really filthy beds. Bed was dirty, they didn't want to change the sheets, had to beg for it. Bathroom didn't work. Bed bugs included, I feel so itchy now. Really disgusting place. To reach it at night you have to take a taxi or run through dark streets

This hostel is amazing! it's only about a 5 min walk to town and yet feels like you're in the middle of nature! There's so many spaces to relax in and I was even able to have a video call for work. I didn't have any issues with bed bugs like some other reviews mentioned, everything was very clean and safe!

BED BUGS - do not stay here.

+++ BED BUGS ALERT +++ 4 out of 5 beds were affected by bed bugs. Several other guests were covered with bed bugs, too. Additionally, a lot of other animals were bothering us during the night as dog fights happened directly next to our beds. The included breakfast is not really helping out if you are actually hungry. In the end, I would not recommend this hostel as we still fighting our injuries.
