Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in — avoid at all costs. Everything was old, broken, and falling apart. The place is unbelievably noisy, with a bar inside the hostel that makes it impossible to sleep. On top of that, the smell was disgusting — honestly one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. If you value your comfort, safety, or even basic hygiene, do yourself a favor and book anywhere else. This place is a nightmare
Location is nice, the rest is either too expensive or just bad. Definitely not a place to work with a laptop - only one seating area and no plugs in the rooms. Bathrooms were dirty and beds had no privacy.
We cancelled our stay in the hostel on realising that, outrageously, HostelWorld website had taken payment of €104 as 'commission'. Wasn't called that when I was making the booking. It was called 'payment' and I understood it was a down payment on the hostel. Until the hostel told me they had received nothing. €104 to making a booking on an online site that I could have done for free seems - if not illegal - certainly corporate malfeasance.I will do my best to warn other people of this scam.
The reception and location were great. But there was a lot of noise from drunk people and tram noise. There was a strong smell of cigarettes and cannbis.
Ratio quality/cost extremely low. Very bad services. In summer the bed was furnished with a winter cover and to the inquiry of having a blanket appropriate to the season they had no one.
So noisy hostel & the activity are so bad, I would never recommend it to anyone
The worst place I have visited in the world wide till now during my touristic tour. I faced racisme from people working there : Bar Man The employees there are not collaborating or not even taking any action, they are sadist happy to see a racisme situation and laughing. I would't recommend any tourist to go there. It is shame that you are calling for tourists while you are treating them like that.
Friendly staff and my room was clean but expensive with shared bathroom. Showers a bit grubby Brakes didn't work when I hired bike. Beer good though, as was all you can eat breakfast
No social vibe whatsoever. If you’re in Berlin to have fun then look to another hostel like Sunflower.
Nice location but so dirty and the room smelt so bad. Also no aircon or kitchen and super expensive in the bar area.

I absolutely loved my time in the Circus Hostel! It was perfect, the staff were amazing and the location was absolutely ideal.
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Stayed in a private room with a friend and it was awesome. Could tell bathrooms were cleaned every day, and the hostel is only steps away from a good bar, several good restaurants, and a laundromat. Highest I’ve rated a hostel in 5+ years and over 150 stays.
Very good hostel in central Berlin, close to tram station and many food options
Fantastic location, close to transport and plenty of food and drink options right outside. Micro brewery and cafe in the hostel a nice touch. Rooms and bedding all modern and clean, multiple layers of security too. Bathrooms always clean but quite dated, and a little shabby in some cases. But fine to use. Would recommend Circus overall.

Alles in allem war der Aufenthalt sehr schön. Gut wäre wenn im Preis noch ein Handtuch enthalten wäre und Duschgel + Shampoo zur Verfügung stehen würden

Great stay overall. Rooms and common areas were clean and modern. Location is perfect – U-Bahn and tram right in front, easy to get anywhere. Rosenthaler Platz is a nice area, and there’s a 24h market across the street to grab a beer and hang out. Only downside was no power outlets by the beds, which is important when traveling. Still, I really enjoyed it and would definitely stay here again.
Le Circus Hostel est une Auberge de Jeunesse très proche du centre de Berlin. Celui-ci est accessible à pied assez facilement. L'auberge dispose de casiers de toutes tailles pour y déposer ses bagages à la journée. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien équipées. L'hôtel est assez récent, les équipements sont en bon état. Le personnel est sympathique. Les sanitaires sont bien équipés au niveau des douches. Il manque peut-être quelques WC quand il y a du monde.
The Circus Hostel is a Youth Hostel very close to the center of Berlin. It is quite easily accessible on foot. The hostel has lockers of all sizes to drop your luggage in during the day. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The hotel is fairly new, the equipment is in good condition. The staff is friendly. The toilets are well equipped at the shower level. There may be a few missing when there are people. WC

Adorei. Limpeza cuidadosa, roupas de cama limpas e novas, equipe atenciosa, localização impecável. O café da manhã é bom, apesar de poder escolher somente uma bebida por dia. Sou mulher e fiquei em dormitório misto e não tive nenhum problema, pelo contrário, os meninos foram muito legais comigo. Chuveiro e banheiro muito bons. Recomendo. Me hospedaria lá novamente com certeza.
I loved it. careful cleaning, clean and new bedding, attentive staff, impeccable location. the breakfast is good, although I can only choose one drink a day. i am a woman and stayed in a mixed dorm and had no problem, on the contrary, the boys were very nice to me. shower and bathroom very good. i recommend. i would definitely stay there again.
My headphones got handed into reception, then I assume one of the staff took them as I hand to track them using find my app to their apartment and confront them to get them back.
Excellent hostel! One of the best I've every stayed at. Very clean mattress, linens, rooms, common areas. Right on the U, so easy to get everywhere. Friendly staff, organized process.
I think this was an ok hostel and had a good location. The beds had no curtains, the bathrooms were in the hallway, and they were very small. It had some good social events and people seemed to have an easy time meeting others. It was alright for a one night stay but I don’t know if I would come back.

Fijne locatie en goede beveiliging middels pasje! Ook pluspunt voor bagage opslag, je hebt je eigen kluisje met code als je je koffers nog even wilt wegzetten! Nadeel vond ik wel dat er geen gordijnen zijn bij het bed, dus weinig privacy. Zeker als je het bed bij de tafel hebt. En heel erg warm op de kamer omdat de ramen na 22.00 dicht moeten. Maar verder top!! Mooie kamers met grote storage voor je koffer en grote spiegel. Schone kamers en wc’s!
Nice location and good security in the middle of the hall! Also a plus point for luggage storage, you have your own safe with code as you still want to put your suitcases away! Nadeel vond ik wel that there are no curtains by the bed, so little privacy. Especially as you have the bed by the table. And very very warm on the room because the windows have to close at 22.00.
The facilities were very clean and of decent quality. It was a lovely social environment but where I stayed was not loud at night, and I slept well. The lounge and bar were lovely as well. The hostel is right next to a tram and metro station, and was only a 20-minute walk from town. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. I had a really nice stay, and I would definitely recommend!
I thought this was a nice party hostel but was a bit lame. I walked in the evening to another hostel nearby, st Christopher Alexanderplatz, and was much more people at the bar there, a lot more fun. I was in Berlin only one night, I wish I had chosen st Christopher rather than circus hostel. The food tour was just one place for snitzel. I ended up paying 12€ for 24h ticket under recommendation of the guide, wasn't worth it as could have walked there or have just one ticket.
