Wake N Flow, Ahangama - Kabalana Beach

Cheap private room with bathroom and balcony, but the cleanliness was really bad: towels left lint, the bathroom smelled like mould, walls got damp when it rained, and my pillow was mouldy!! The Polish volunteer was very friendly, though. At checkout they even tried to charge me again even though I already paid and showed them my receipt, and they also add an illegal 3% card fee which is illegal meanwhile! Don’t accept it. Even though it’s cheap, it’s not worth it.

If you’re looking for a social hostel, this ain’t it. No plans, no activities, you’re on your own. Beds super nice tho!

Very bare bones hostel, but does the trick.

The hostel is very well located and has a social, relaxed vibe, very close to the beach and great for surfers. The common areas are nice for meeting people and the beds have curtains, which gives good privacy. For me it was also okay that smoking was allowed in common areas (not in the rooms). However, there were an extreme amount of mosquitoes and only one shared bathroom, which made things uncomfortable at times. Overall still a good stay, but with room for improvement.

I recommend this hostel. The shared rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning. Common areas are nice, and there’s usually someone around if you want to socialize. The kitchen is basic but works, and free filtered water is available. WiFi is good, though there were occasional power cuts. Bathrooms could be cleaner but are spacious. The location is great, next to Kabalana Beach, and easy to reach the town center by scooter. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Overall okay hostel. Not that social at the time I was there. But the rooms are nice, nice beds. The door didn’t close fully and the lockers was pretty small but still fit my valuables. Close to kabalana beach and there is also a nice cafe in the hostel area including social areas.

Nice hostel, rooms are clean and have comfy beds. Curtains to provide privacy and darkness. The lockers are small. One bathroom inside which was dirty and 2 showers outside, one has no lock and the other would flood whenever you shower. There are outside toilets which are decent. Atmosphere was divided but that is pot luck. Nice walk to beach with places to eat along the way. Staff were nice.

good place to stay, it is clean and safe. meet very nice people, aand they are building an outdoor cafe at the moment, which i think will be openend early/mid december. only downside is, when you want to prolong your stay, they make you pay a lot more than before, so be careful about that (also overbookings happend). Still had a great time

Went there twice and was great. Nothing to complain about. Dennis the manager is an absolute legend. The other staff was very friendly as well. Definitely would recommend :)

Wake n Flow kabalana has everything a hostel needs. Rooms are clean, comfy beds, a great receptionist and nice public areas. It’s not a party hostel, but I enjoyed the chilled vibes. Really loved my stay here and would definitely stay again! Can only recommend

Had the best time here. Denis is the friendliest and coolest Host ever, you immediatly connect with him. They are doing a lot of new stuff here like a beach bar. Beds are good with aircon and curtins. You can chill here but also party. The Hostel isnt far from beaches, clubs, bars, restaurants, everything in walking or tuktuk distance. Would go here anytime again👍🏻😁

What a place! This is the best hostel in Ahangama for sure.. chill clean fun and close to the best spots.. Dennis is the man what a legend

had a splendid experience there...the best thing is cleanliness....the rooftop restaurant has a nice selection of food and the food is quality..staff is very friendly...I did my office work from there too...so for me it's like mixed you can work there also meet people and party...btw I used to surf and directly come to hostel it's that close...when I m in welligama this will be my sure place to go...thanks to jitesh for also reffering to kabalana WNF place...kudos to the team..!!!

The door to my room didn’t close so mosquitoes were buzzing in my ear all night and I said hi to someone and they seemed surprised to talk. It wasn’t my favorite stay but it was cheap and close to the beach

Wake n Flow became my home away from home in Ahangama. Very easy going social vibe and a great location. There were always people around to hang whether you want to party, surf, or just grab lunch. Dennis and the rest of the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Hidden gem! Super clean, walking distance to kabalana beach, hot shower, curtains on bed and open kithcen. Adriana was the best host! Garden area could have more sitting space

I came for 1 night but end up staying for a week! Adriana and Pasindu was amazing host and organised many activities and Pasindu helped me learned Sinhala! Clean and 2 min walk to kabalana beach
