I would not recommend this hostel. The host seemed annoyed with our presence, which made the stay uncomfortable. Check-in was difficult to organize since she is only available during limited hours. The dorm itself wasn’t very comfortable — the bed was hard, and there was only one outlet in the room, which made it difficult for multiple guests to charge devices. There are also two dogs on the property that jump on guests frequently, which can be overwhelming. Breakfast was very basic compared...

I get why this hostel gets such good ratings but it’s def not for everyone. The rescue dogs are nice but very untrained and enter the dorms and jump up to you all the time. My laundry came back smelling like smoke and there were dog hairs on my underwear. Carla helped out greatly with figuring out how to get to the lagunas for the hikes.Overall I was kind of disappointed and changed hostel, it felt kind of unhygienic with the dogs and their hair everywhere (probably not for everyone an issue).

Nice outside area but the vibe is pretty strange and you don't feel very welcome by the owner.

Really nice hostel. Perfect if you need to do some remote work. Some lovely dogs at the residence also. Everything was really nice the only slight negative was that at times I felt a little rushed to leave or felt like my stay there wasn’t appreciated which was strange because I was only one of two guests staying at the hostel

Carla is an amazing host. She goes above and beyond to ensure a great time in Huaraz. She helped with transportation, rentals, and overall knowledge of the area. We indulged in her tasty desserts every night, she’s a wonderful baker and cook. If you’re looking for a peaceful space along your travels, this is the place! Plenty of yard space to relax, and Milo and Canela are playful, lovely pups.

Had a really really really nice stay with Carla, Milo and Dulce (gorgeous pups). The place is unbelievably relaxing, and Carla is truly a fantastic host. It feels like a little family when you’re staying there and she takes care of everyone like a mum would. Lovely place to crash after long days of hiking and the dogs are very lovely too. Only downside was how creamy the bedroom floor and bed was but this is basically not a problem at all. A little far from the centre of town and a 20 min walk...

This hostel is one of my absolute favourites that i have stayed in. Carla is so dedicated to making sure everything is as good as it possibly can be, and she really takes the time to get to know everyone staying there. I arrived super early and she let me check in early and even gave me a free breakfast. She was amazing for recommendations of hikes and activities as well. You can tell she really truly cares!! Super cute dogs too and feel like the hostel attracts a lovely sort of traveller.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! Carla was so hospitable and really went out of her way to make us all feel so welcome and looked after. The hostel had such a lovely, cosy atmosphere. Had a family feel where all the guests knew each other at the hostel. Highly recommend eating there too - great desserts as well :)

You would want to stay here if you want to stay away from the busy downtown and be in nature with two precious dogs. The rooms were so cute in the design and the host was very informative with what activities and hikes to do.

Carla is lovely and was a great host throughout our week long stay (Oct ‘25). She was friendly, easy going and very happy to help us with advice on hikes/activities in the area surrounding Huaraz. On a clear day the views from the large garden are beautiful. Our cabin (pictured) was cute and had a hammock + swing chair. Only downside was the bed was a little uneven. Wrap up with blankets/layers at night if it’s due to be cold as it can get chilly!

We loved our stay in Huaraz! The space was peaceful and cozy, with a beautiful garden with lots of space to relax, a well-equipped kitchen, and a hot shower that was perfect after hikes. Carla’s warm company made us feel right at home - not to mention her delicious pizzas and desserts! The dogs were a highlight, greeting us every morning with so much energy. Great place to stay! We stayed 3 times in between hikes. Carla is very helpful with directions and guidelines and trying to accommodate our check in times at all time. Forever grateful. The rooms are comfortable. The external shower is amazingly hot, a super asset for after the long huayhuash hike. I highly recommend staying here.

Tony's House Hostel did nothing but the best for me. It's a bit of a walk outside the main center (but the 20-30 minutes of exercise is a good thing in prep for hikes anyway), or you can catch a taxi. A rustic and laidback feel, I felt welcomed the moment I stepped inside. Clara, the owner makes the hostel feel like home. An amazing cook, and caretaker to her clients, and to her two dogs who she had taken off the streets of Huaraz (Milo and Canela) both of whom have very special personalities. T...

Tony's House Hostel is amazing, named after Tony's the dog (RIP 2018) with big outdoor spaces, including the guest kitchen, hammocks, chairs and tables, excellent for meeting other guests and 2 really friendly happy dogs. Clara's place is like nothing else in Huaraz. Starting with beautiful outside garden, home-made meals (even cakes!) and helpful recommendations. Clara makes all the effort to make you feel welcomed. Another bonus are two very cute rescue dogs which made my stay even better. I recommend this place to everyone staying in Huaraz.

Highly recommend - perfect place to base yourself in Huaraz. Warm and comfy bunks with curtains and lockers, hot showers, massive yard to chill and dry gear, free luggage storage and great breakfast. Plus two cute dogs :) 15-20min walk to the Plaza, but nice to be away from the bustle and still close to shops/restaurants. Carla is lovely - very flexible and super helpful!
