I hadn't noticed that taxes weren't included, which is a big plus for the quality of the hostel.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights at the very beginning of our Sri Lankan trip. We agreed with the owners to leave our bags locked up with them at a rate of 500 rupees (about $1.70USD) per day that we were gone. When we returned after 15 days they held our bags away from us and refused to give them back unless we paid them the equivalent of $200USD. We had laptops and essential travel documents in the bags and were flying out of the country in the morning. In
honestly this hostel is a complete mixed bag. its clean and spacious, they offer tea and biscuits at 5pm. But the main issue was the staff, many of us thought the owner did not really want us there, met so many lovely people from Sri Lanka so this was quite surprising. They were quite grumpy. It's perfectly fine as a place to start or end your trip in Sri Lanka otherwise
Das Hostel liegt direkt am Strand, Supermarkt, Cafés und Restaurants sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Aber das Zimmer in dem ich war, war leider super dreckig. Die Betten wurden frisch bezogen, sonst wurde gar nichts geputzt. Auf dem Regal neben meinem Bett lagen abgeschnittene Fingernägel und auch sonst war alles voller Staub. Toilette wurde erst richtig sauber gemacht nachdem ich mich beschwert habe. Alles in allem blieb ich eine Nacht, obwohl zwei geplant waren.
The hostel is directly on the beach, supermarket, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance. the staff is very nice. but the room I was in was unfortunately super dirty. the beds were freshly cleaned, otherwise nothing was washed. on the shelf next to my bed were cut fingernails and also everything else was full of dust. the toilet was cleaned properly only after I complained. everything in all I stayed one night, although two were planted.
Arrived late at night and had to call to check in, was shown to a room which I didn’t book, two twin beds super close together (booked a bunk bed dorm). No backpacker vibe. No information on check in. Probably a good place for a private room for couples but not for solo travellers.
The property was in a good location and staff were informative. However, we arrived late to a soaking wet bath mat in the middle of the bathroom which was resolved but odd. Overall the bathroom was incredibly damp, smelt off, with several silverfish / dead bugs on the walls and in the shower and no hand soap provided. Our balcony door also didn’t lock which wasn’t ideal.
Struttura accogliente che peccava un po’ nelle stanze dove per esempio mancavano le tende divisorie dei letti. Sarebbe stato bello anche avere più servizi a disposizione, come delle attività organizzate.
A cozy structure that would fit a little in the rooms where, for example, the bed dividers were missing.It would also have been nice to have more facilities available, such as organized activities.
Nothing special. It’s okey for a overnight stay if you want to be close to the airport.

Mostly good value for money as a quick stopover before a morning flight, but I saw a cockroach immediately as I first entered my washroom and cleanliness felt like something that could have been improved around the facility. Also had a flickering light in the room. I appreciated the helpfulness of the guy manning the front desk.

2 nachten in Marine Tourist Guesthouse verbleven na mijn vlucht. Het was heel makkelijk te bereiken met de tuktuk vanuit de luchthaven in Colombo. Het hostel had ruime kamers, was schoon, een prettige en schone badkamer, grote lockers en was op loopafstand van vele restaurants. Op loopafstand van het strand, hier kan je overigens niet zwemmen, het is ook 5 min met de tuktuk naar Negombo beach, hier was een mooie zonsondergang te zien. Super om je reis in Sri Lanka te beginnen.
2 nights in Marine Tourist Guesthouse stayed on my flight. it was very easy to reach with the tuktuk from the airport in Colombo. the hostel had spacious rooms, was clean, a nice and clean bathroom, large lockers and was at a walking distance from many restaurants. at a walking distance from the beach, here you can overigens not swim, it is also 5 min with the tuktuk to Negombo beach, here was a beautiful sunset to see. great to start your trip in Sri Lanka

Very close to the airport, very convenient to stay on the day of arrival and the day before departure.Thanks to keeping my suitcase in storage, I was able to enjoy my trip in Sri Lanka more smoothly and freely.The staff were also very kind and I am very grateful.

good hostel, convenient for airport, staff friendly and helpful to advise for onward trips, location on street of places to eat, not very social and generally not much in this area mainly food for stopover before continuing travels
A really nice stay for the first night in Sri Lanka. Easy to take a tuk tuk from the airport to the hostel (3 dollars). Close to the beach and a big, clean room and bed (private room). Friendly staff.

Prachtig hostel. Vriendelijk personeel en de locatie vond ik ook geweldig. Hele nette kamer en comfortabele bedden. Zeker een aanrader. Ik kom alvast terug.
I also found the location great. all clean rooms and comfortable beds. definitely a recommendation. i will be back.
Stayed for the night after arriving at the airport quite late - just ring the bell by the front gate and they should come out. Hostel was clean, 15 mins from airport and close to some good breakfast options. Staff also helped with recommendations of how to get to Sigriya.
Super nice hostel, great location, really friendly staff and a good vibe. Highly recommend and super convenient from the airport - it only costs €2 to get from the airport to the hostel in a tuk tuk. Thanks for a great stay

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hostel was clean and the rooms were big and the beds were comfy. The afternoon tea and biscuits was a great way to meet others. Very convenient for the airport. I would stay again.
Sunset from my room, wonderful beach location. Modern bedroom and furniture, so nice like a hotel. Staff was helpful and chill and helped me get a nice bus the next day.

Decent hostel as a transit point in your journey. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped pair me up with someone to take the next leg of my journey. Lockers available in dorms. Facilities were basic. They advertise 24 hr check, however I arrived late from the airport at midnight and there were no staff around, and no one picked up when I called the phone number left at reception. Took about 20min for someone to return my call. Basic stay, ok for the price

It's not designed as a social hostel but I met some great people here nonetheless in the dorm rooms. The owners are very helpful and accomodating. If you've got a very late or early flight they can accommodate odd check in hours too.
