The hostel itself was nice, but the host made me feel very uncomfortable as a female solo traveler. One day, he kept talking to me and started asking personal questions, including whether I was married. The conversation then became very disturbing when he told me about his fantasies of murdering his ex-fiancée because she had cheated on him. He said he was still very angry and even mentioned wanting to keep her body in a freezer to make sure she was really dead. Later, he asked my instagram lol
it’s a nice little hostel unfortunately after checking in I found out from other guests that there had been bedbugs in the room downstairs. The owner said the room had been “cleaned” that day, but wasn’t very understanding when I said I wanted to leave anyway. He only refunded one of the two nights which felt a bit unfair given the circumstances. From what I’ve heard he’s taking care of the bed bugs though.
We had a private room without a window and it got really damp and smelly. Showers and bathrooms are good. Breakfast was small but ok, owner is very kind though.

Really nice and cheap hostel with helpful staff and a chill atmosphere. But know that the rooms have no window to the outside.
Malgré un souci avec mon lit la première nuit…. Le gérant a été commercial et m’a changé de chambre. J’ai pu passer les 3 nuits qu’il me restait mais je n’étais pas hyper sereine par rapport aux puces. Je crois que c’est dans une dortoir en particulier, le nettoyer et l’aspirer ne suffit pas. À part ça, l’auberge est vraiment incroyable, l’emplacement, le mood, la musique adaptée à l’heure de la journée, la salle commune super chill, ça peut être bruyant à cau...
Despite a problem with my bed the first night.... the manager was commercial and changed my room. i was able to spend the 3 nights i had left but i wasn't hyper serene compared to the fleas. i think it's in a dorm room in particular, cleaning and aspirating it is not enough. besides that, the hostel is really amazing, the location, the mood, the music adapted to the time of day, the common room super chill, it can be noisy because of the flooring that cracks a lot

Great location, host was super nice and friendly and always helpful. Hostel is very basic, the mattress was not that good, bed was squeaking and place could be more cleaner.
We got woken up at 3.30am from drilling and hammering. It sounded like it was in the hostel and was extremely scary. It carried on for 2/3 hours so we didn’t sleep well. The fan in the hut is extremely loud and with it off it’s way too hot to sleep in. The area was okay but the man on the desk was good when washing our clothes and advice on hikes. It was a quiet place compared to what we’re used to and not really an atmosphere.
The dorms upstairs are not for light sleepers. It's really loud because of the fan (no airconditioning) and because you can hear people from the washroom and rooms below loud and clearly. Moreover, when it was a warm day, you can hear the generator of the airconditioning of the house next door. Plus the floor ist not very stable so you can feel everyone's steps. The staff was friendly and the cleanliness was okay. Great location.

Overall a nice hostel run by a very friendly guy, offering comfortable beds and a cosy downstairs area which during peak season would get very lively! The rooms themselves were good, and had plenty of space inside. Only downside is that, given the Highlands are one of the few places in SE Asia that get cold, showers with hot water would have been more ideal! For the price and location, would still definitely recommend.
Such a good and loving hostel. Kazz really takes care of the place, it’s in the details. Everything is takes care of and clean. Breakfast could be a bit more extensive with (for example) some fruits, but other than that it’s a great hostel. Organises nice tours and the common area is a nice spot to chill and go meet other people. Social hostel without being a party hostel, but you def could go out if you want to.
I stayed because of the reviews (and the cute tent set up!), and can confirm Kazz is exactly as everyone says - an incredible guy. managing the whole hostel, and still very keen to chat about anything and everything. Do the route 10+6 as he recommends, the most enjoyable scrambling short hike I have ever found. Thanks Kazz, see you again somewhere in future!
Echt een top accommodatie! De tentjes ipv bedden vind ik een gouwe concept. Het voelde ontzettend cozy aan en past goed bij de avontuurlijke vibes die bij the Cameron Highlands horen. De host, Kazz was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het hostel voelde super relaxed aan maar zeker ook sociaal. Tot slot is de ligging super centraal.

This is one of those magic hostels where you can really figure out why it’s so good but it’s just cool, quirky but friendly and social and great for a hiking stop - had a great time!
Kazz is an amazing host and goes above and beyond to make his guests feel welcome. I will definitely come back. The tents to sleep in are super cute and comfy, the sheets smell fresh and everything is clean. Breakfast is toast, peanut butter and jam and will give you the energy you need for the hikes.

One of the best experiences so far. the host is incredibly kind and helpful. gave us the best tips and even equipped us with hiking boots.
Brilliant hostel. Kazz is a great host and full credit to him for running the place by himself. Comfy and clean beds and great facilities. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

The loveliest hostel ran by the sweetest and most helpful man. He was very knowledgable on the hikes and the general area, he even let me borrow some proper hiking shoes which I greatly appreciated. The hostel itself had a calming atmosphere and a homely feel🥰 couldn’t recommend enough

Kazz is an incredibly friendly and helpful host and the hostel is great value. I met nice people although it did feel quite quiet - seems more sociable than other places in town still! Comfy beds, appreciated the free breakfast and tea/coffee
Very relaxed hostel with a very friendly and helpful host. It is right in the middle of Tanah Rata so easy access to nearby restaurants and bars. The tents inside are a very original and comfortable setup!
Süßes Hostel mit bequemen Zelten, Badezimmer sind immer sauber, social area klein aber ausreichend. Frühstück sehr basic (Toast mit PBJ). Kazza ist sehr hilfsbereit und nett!
