Hostel Bambu

Although the hostel is hospitable and social, my stay was overshadowed by bed bugs in my bunk and an inadequate response. After the second night I had clear bites and found a live bed bug and droppings on the mattress, which we recorded and reported. The initial reaction was dismissive and no immediate measures were taken to protect others. Only after insisting were costs reimbursed. Two weeks later, no proper follow-up has occurred and our trip was heavily affected. 0/10 would recommend

Overall, mixed experience. The rating process here does not really reflect our experience. Two guys were really lovely and really cared about the hostel, unfortunatley other staff brought this down by being quite unfriendly. I had quite obvious bedbugs that seemed to have gone unoticed by the cleaning staff, we were promptly moved to a different room but shows quite a lack of attention to very important details. Not enough toilets and generally pretty unclean. Good vibes and kitchen/bar however.

Unfortunately after my staying in this hostel, lots of bed bugs bites appeared in my body. I read one review on Google about an occurrence in there and neglected it. Now I’m definitely paying the price, this is the first time something like this happens to me.

Stayed there one night & it was one night too many. Came across this hostel on Hostelworld, but it looks nothing like it does in the pictures. It's old, needs maintenance, bathrooms aren't clean and need to be renovated, the entire place needs to be renovated. There are cleaner Hostels in the center, so I left and booked at a cleaner one. One guest complained of bed bugs on their mattress, the owner came, and he decided to throw that mattress into the pool... they don't care about hygiene and upkeep. I wouldn't recommend this place. I checked out the next day. The staff is lovely, so that compensates for the lack of hygiene and basic upkeep.
