The Tipsy Gypsy Hostel

To the male hostel employee, you messed up big time! This guy kept patting my shoulder while we were playing card games and acting all chummy and I kept trying to sit further away. The next day I was getting my towel from the dorm and he tried to play TUG OF WAR with my towel. He was like 'wow you're so strong' and WOULD NOT LET GO. I had to yank REALLY HARD before he let go. This guy really pissed me off and made me not want to go out to get water because I knew he would be there. WOULD NOT REC...

Could only check in at 3:30 pm when the hostel says 1. Bed was extremely dirty with lots of stains and loads of mosquitos in the room, not quite sure how this hostel has such a high review.

The ac does not work and the shower is dirty

Not at all worth!! This place is very dirty. The washroom is so dirty and when you take shower all the water is clogged. Beds are so uncomfortable and I hated it.

Nice people but a below average hostel. Booked for 3 days and left after 1 day. Air-conditioner wasnt working.Toilet door is always open. And the toilet wall is not fully enclosed till the ceiling. So, the toilet smell will always come inside the room. Below average bed. I was told I will be given a different dorm room. But, i was already put off by the place after having high expectations seeing 9+ rating on the website for this hostel.

Would never go back here, we all got woken up at 7:30am by the staff playing extremely loud music and couldn’t get back to sleep!! I woke up with so many mosquito bites all over my body, and the rooms were so dirty and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned. My curtain was broken and definitely hadn’t been cleaned as there were blood and other marks all over it! We had one loo roll for a 6 bed dorm which was ridiculous, and no hand soap. Staff are lovely but rooms aren’t great , rooms are cover with mosquitos , got destroyed with bits because of this.

Pretty disappointing. The dorms are soo hot. There no roof insulation so the heat is unbearable with the ac which doesn’t work. I left and slept in a hotel. Stay opposite dorms are smaller, cheaper, cooler.

As an older solo traveler I felt very very welcomed by both the staff and all the travelers, although there were very few others, 6-8 in total. If you're looking for an inexpensive social hostel with a good vibration then this is definitely your place. But I cannot recommend the very minimal conditions, unfortunately...it rains through the roof into the room, (luckily I had a lower bunk bed) and obviously mosquitoes can fly in, so I got bitten at night. I'm glad to have stayed 1 night,it was fun

I stayed here for just one night, so I didn’t spend much time at the hostel. The bed felt a bit flimsy, and the washroom wasn’t very comfortable. Not dirty, just not great. But for the price, it’s decent overall.

Really nice small hostel with very familiar atmosphere. You really feel like home from home. That’s my first solo trip and so far the best place I stayed at. Highly recommend

had an absolute blast! extended my stay and definitely will be back. feels like a second home after a few nights already. also really living up to the name. anyone looking for a fun time in Canggu should definitely come here, even if you booked another stay already.

Had a great time at the Tipsy Gypsy hostel. Staff was very friendly and inviting, rooms were clean, a guard was present to keep an eye out at night and AC cooled the dorm to a pleasant temperature.

I had so much fun here. It's so welcoming and lots of activities to do. Good location and amenities. I made amazing friends - family for life. The tipsy gypsy forever.

You get what you pay for with the room but the staff were so incredible making sure all the guests were involved. Atmosphere was incredible. Would only stay here again.

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at the vibes were constantly high and the staff were AMAZING!!! Hands down made my experience It is a party hostel so get ready to make some memories!!! But they also have quite hour at 11 which was rlly nice on nights where I needed sleep THANK YOU TIPSY GYPSY

All of the staff were so welcoming and fun! I spent my first two nights in Bali here and came back on two separate occasions because I just loved the vibes! Every time I came back, someone would say “welcome home!”. Spent a lot of time around the table playing cards, singing and sharing drinks with new found friends! 100% recommend if you are social and looking to have some fun.

I had so much fun! Everyone was playing drinking games and even dancing together. After closing we all went together to party outside. Really an awesome social hostel :)

Was meant to stay one night but like others ive ended up three weeks there , amazing staff owner and people . Location is perfect, close to beach and shops etc , always fun there and also a quiet spot on other side ! Cheers Tipsy fam !
