Aún estoy lideando con las chinches que agarre en el lugar toda picada termine. La cama incomoda, el olor a viejo meado de todo el lugar, las sábanas sucias, no hay enchufes en las habitaciones. La peor noche. Todo está deteriorado. En otro Hostel pague lo mismo y dormi como una reina. No tenía lugar esa noche y terminé aquí.

Absolutely disgusting, a literal slum. Dog feces on the floors, people feces in the shower, bugs in the bed; truly a disgusting experience

El único problema fue que tenía chinches de cama, nos quedamos 2 noches y estamos llenos de picaduras😔 pensamos que eran mosquitos, pero el día del checkout encontramos chinches trepando la pared de la cama. Revisando comentarios en Google llevan más de 4 meses sin resolver ese problema.

There is no sign to know where the place is. Showers were bug but only 3. They're big enough that they could be divided up to make at least 6 and possibly more if they chose. Bedbugs in the dorm.

BEDBUGS / PAREDES DE LA CAMA I had a terrible experience in this hostel. They don’t offer the possibility to pay with card, but they didn’t let me know beforehand. As it was late at night already when I arrived and I didn’t have any cash, they offered me to pay the day after. When I woke up, I was eye to eye with a bedbug (photo attached) 🪳. I decided to move to a different hostel and I went to ask the reception staff if I could get a discount for the night, as I have a lot of extra expenses now I have to pay for laundry etc. The girl from the reception desk told me she would ask her boss, but immediately I received threats from the boss. He said that he called the cops on me and that he would make sure that I wouldn’t be able to leave the country. I assured him that I would pay but he was completely unreasonable and was not willing to let me work it out in peace. He kept telling me I am a thief even though I was showing coorperation. He even admitted that they already knew about the bedbug situation, which is astounding to me.

UN ASCO, ME CONTAGIARON CHINCHES DE CAMA. TENGO MÁS DE 50 PICADURAS EN TODO EL CUERPO. NO VAYAS ACÁ. Que haya chinches de cama significa que el lugar es una inmundicia. No fui la única que picaron, tanto en habitaciones privadas como en habitaciones compartidas. Es un lugar venido a menos. Hay heces y pis de perro en el patio. Hay bolsas de latas acumuladas en el patio. Cerca de donde come la gente o pasa el rato en el patio, y sentís ese mal olor. De noche el pasillo y las escaleras no están iluminados, hay unas lámparas pero no funciona la instalación eléctrica. Hablando de instalación eléctrica, no hay enchufes en las habitaciones , de casualidad en la habitación privada una zapatilla. No hay aire acondicionado en ninguna parte. En el horario de desayuno, tuvieron que irse a hacer compras y vinieron tarde. Solamente ofrecen para beber en el el desayuno coffee sticks ni leche o té. El personal tiene mala actitud, cara de que te está haciendo un favor. Agrego como detalle que no hay picaporte en las puertas de los baños ni en habitaciones privada y queda sujeto a trabitas.

BEDBUGS / PAREDES DE LA CAMA I had a terrible experience in this hostel! When I woke up, I was eye to eye with a bedbug. When I asked for a compensation for my extra expenses (laundry at 60°C etc), the boss started seriously threatening me. Absolute terrible experience. They knew about the bedbugs already btw…

A massive bedbug problem!! They cleant the beds but you could see them on the wall. Stuff from the fridge was stolen.

Avokanto Hostel is in a strong spot near Parque Rodó, with easy access to the beach, bus stops, and a neighborhood full of bars and places to eat. This is a place that works best if location and a social outside area matter more than comfort.
