Hostel Achalay

My worst hostel stay in all of SA. Scheduled to stay for four nights but left after one. Immediately skeptical, as nothing looked as it was advertised online. Bedroom floor was littered with trash and dirt and the lockers were broken (doors falling off). Later, I found candy wrappers in my bed. The facilities were atrocious. The bathroom had no ventilation and the shower was covered in mold. Staff is unhelpful – all say they “started two days ago.” Manager never onsite. Owner is unapologet...

Horrible place. Was supposed to stay for 4 nights but left after 2 - this is the second time I’ve done this in my life! The bathrooms are filthy - mold everywhere and not nearly enough facilities for everyone. The beds are creaky and so small you can’t sit up on the bottom bunk. Good luck trying to sleep as the staff allow people to scream in the common room at all hours of the day. Do not stay here.

As instalações do quarto são muito ruins, paredes manchadas, reforma sem concluir, aquecedor que não funciona, cortina do chuveiro suja, além disso o quarto fica fora do prédio, o que dificulta a interação com outras pessoas e no meu caso, que viajava sozinha, me causou insegurança. Sempre fico em hostels em quartos privados e esse sinceramente deixou muito a desejar nas instalações e asseio do quarto.

Je n'ai pas apprécié mon séjour dans cet hostel car il y avait de nombreux problèmes au niveau de ma chambre (seule). Déjà qu'il manquait d'espace et que ça ressemblait plus au placard de Harry Potter la porte était assez compliquée à ouvrir ou fermer en raison de la serrure cassée. Et surtout je suis tombé malade en raison du chauffe qui tournait à fond dans ma chambre, sans aucun moyen de le couper alors qu'il fait 25 degrés en journée ... problème jamais réglé malgré mes no...

The staff is super friendly, but the hostel structure is unstable. The toilets are very old, the bed I was staying felt like it was gonna crumble any second, and the lockers aren’t the greatest. Overall, I felt it lacks some refurbishment.

I had two nights here and admittedly the weather wasn’t great so spent much more time at the hostel . The breakfast is good, one of the few to offer eggs, and the coffee good. There were a lot of things that need updating. The main hostel is tired, the bathroom was old, tatty, mouldy and plumbing was difficult to work. I had a cold shower. I did approach the owner who apologised and said the boiler sometimes goes out. The top bunk was creaky and nowhere to put my phone etc. I will not return.

DO NOT GO THERE if you value a good sleep. We spent 3 nights there and 2 nights the staff was partying (loud music, screaming, singing) until 1am. Completely ruthless. Also the facilities are old or broken, toilet was running all night, the toilet door is super loud when closing so you wake up every time someone goes there. We booked this hostel based solely on the reviews, which were amazing. Whilst we agree the volunteers were lovely, friendly and welcoming we couldn’t look past how dirty the hostel was and were shocked that none of the reviews mentioned this. The kitchen, fridges, sponges, bedrooms were dirty. The bathrooms were mouldy and very old. The whole hostel was in need of refurbishment but even if you looked past that, it is clearly in need of a very deep clean.

Es de los mejores hostels en los que he estado! El dueño hace que te sientas como en casa, el ambiente es muy cómodo y te dan muchas recomendaciones que se adaptan a tus necesidades. Cocina equipada con todo, y habitaciones en orden. Recomendable 100%

We had such a great time there. The Team helped us planning trips, gave lots of good recommendations and were incredibly kind. Would stay there again

Great hostel, very comfy and cosy! Would recommend it to everyone wanting to meet people and discover Bariloche!

Amazing hostel! The staff are lovely, the breakfast is delicious and there’s comfortable chill areas perfect for after days of hiking!

Ich habe die Zeit im Hostel Achalay Super genossen. Es wird mehrheitlich von Volunteers geführt, die super zuvorkommend sind. Die Leute in dem Hostel waren alle super offen, sympathisch und aufgeschlossen.

Cozy and social hostel! Staff are really nice and friendly. The breakfast is also really great, they make some of the best scrambled eggs I've eaten 🥳

Ubicación excelente, desayuno muy completo, te asesoran muy bien de excursiones, traslados, actividades. Me sentí muy bienvenida y entre amigos. Camas con cortinas, enchufes y luz individual. Le doy 4 estrellas porque algunas de las instalaciones son antiguas (sillones, camas, etc) y podría haber más baños para la cantidad de personas. Se nota que le ponen mucho ❤️ hay buena onda!!!

Really enjoyed my stay here! They have some social events that makes meeting people easier (I was there for a pizza and live rock band night and everyone was jamming and singing)! They have 3 bathrooms with toilet and shower, and each room had lockers and outlets. Staff were friendly and make you eggs for breakfast!

The hostel is well located (quite central), has breakfast included and pizza night with live music so the atmosphere is really nice. The kitchen could have a bit more of love (somethings were a bit dirty and not well kept) but apart from that it was very comfortable and all the staff were very kind and helpful.

grrat hosyel, great location, staff are really kind, atmoshere is nice. kitchen is a bit small. the wifi in nirvana room doesnt work. bathroom looks a bit dirty

Hostel was great, a little bit of a further walk from the main strip but great and quiet. Lovely common areas and rooftop and kitchen, very clean bathrooms and great beds!

Excelente hostel en el centro de bariloche, muy buena la atencion y las instalaciones!

Great hostel in a perfect location close to loads of cafes and restaurants in Bariloche. The staff were really welcoming and hostel has a great social feel to it. The only downside of that is that we had problems with loud music from the social area until pretty late 2 of the 3 nights we were there. Particularly the karaoke night, which had ridiculously loud music and singing until 12:30am, obviously great if you are involved but felt a bit inconsiderate to those wanting to get a good sleep
