Floor was sticky, rooms are not clean. No heaters, common areas are not well maintained
This hostel was a nightmare. Aside from the location there was nothing good and definitely not worth what we paid. We highly suspect rodents came into our room at night. We saw them fumigating. There are no facilities, the kitchen is mediocre at best. Desperately needs to be renovated. The rooms are tiny. Staff was rude (except night shift). I do not recommend this place at all.
I had stayed at this hostel before and had a wonderful experience, which is why I booked again with my daughter. Unfortunately, this time was very different. On the first night, in room 217, a private one, my daughter was bitten all over her body by bedbugs. We immediately reported the issue at the front desk. The only solution offered was to move us to another room, but with all of our clothes already in the room we didn’t feel safe staying any longer. We decided to leave and book another pla...
Bad Hostel.
Preis-Leistun...
Rooms are very cold inside
Very expensive for what you get. Loud location, very limited facilities.
I paid so much money for a private room, which was really disappointing. The window wasn’t closing really, it was really loud through the street and the bar underneath. It was really cold in the room because of the broken window, and the heater didn’t worked. The duvet had spots. There was no breakfast as described on the website. In the kitchen was a machine and it said free coffee, but as I asked for some coffee to cook it they didn’t had some coffee powder. Definitely wouldn’t go ther...
Extra costs on arrival! Another man in our dorm took our bed but we worked it out. However, the tall bitter man at the front desk was a s*** j*** when my wife asked for help. Comments like: 'is this your first time and last time at a hostel!?' and 'you don't have to stay here!' (at 10pm), are not kind or helpful. This place is expensive for what it is. For $13 extra the next day we changed to another hostel that offered a private room, free amenities, and kind staff. This was the best decision.
Great location. Decently clean bathrooms. Rooms were ok. Insulation was terrible, very very cold and damp in the hostel rooms and common areas. Ok common room and kitchen but no hostel vibes. Some staff very nice some cold. For 1000 CAD for 4 nights, it is what it is, that's downtown Vancouver. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again but thank you for the stay.

Staff were very nice. Shower had absolutely no pressure and were not clean .. in a while ! No outlets in bathrooms. Metal bars to the top bunk are dangerous! Should have a better way to get up there. Also .. if you advertise you can trade your key deposit for a Cambie hotel T-shirt .. you should have some .. I was really looking forward to one!
This is a great spot in a prime location. On first impression, I was a little worried - my room smelled a bit off, only one power outlet, and everything felt a little cramped. After settling in (and some air freshener from the front desk), however, I was really happy with Cambie. Only 2 people per room is AMAZING and the location really can’t be beat. Only feedback would be to have a desk with a built in power strip and some shelves in the shower! No AC is a little concerning but I was fine.
I would definitely stay there again, it had good friendly vibes. Some older people too, maybe not a youth party hostel. My only comment people should know is the bunk beds don’t have bars to not « fall off » from top bunk. Which was a bit freaky. My big duvet was nice and warm but a little stinky (musky) from the wash. I would still stay there as it met all my needs and the bathrooms were really nice. The rooms were small and you can hear the street but it’s a city hostel so expected
Bra beläget boende med bra faciliteter! Fräscha badrum. Boendet är inte jättesocialt skulle jag säga och mycket blandade åldrar. Har det man behöver i alla fall.
Excellent place downtown
An escalator/ elevator would be great!
The place was great, bathrooms and kitchen was clean. Very easy to access everywhere, close to subway stations and also to the water taxi.
Floor was sticky, rooms are not clean. No heaters, common areas are not well maintained
I was placed in a room with a long-term guest (I don’t think I need to describe what it was like inside or the smell). The bed is creaky—whenever I move, it makes a loud noise. On top of that, music from the bar below kept me awake until past 2 a.m. There’s no charging outlet in the upper bunk. The reception staff didn’t even offer basic courtesy greetings. Needless to say, I’d recommend booking somewhere else.
Not an inclusive space for gender variant people. Not an inclusive space for physically disabled people, no attempt at accessibility at all. Facilities cleanliness 5/10 at best. Very loud, very bright lights everywhere.
Stayed one night, knew ahead of time on bar noise .not that bad. Ear plugs at reception. Alot of homeless around, no incidents. Will stay again if I ever go to V.
Some people stay there for a long time and end up taking over the whole room (even in a two-person bedroom). The first room I was given was so messy that I asked for another option. The second one they gave me was a bit better, but it had the same issue: long-term guest. The window wouldn’t stay open, so we couldn’t get any fresh air into the room. It was stuffy and smelled bad, and it gave me a headache. It’s okay for one night and I guess you get what you pay for.
Not my favourite hostel to be honest. I stayed here two separate occasions and both times the rooms smelt like feet, even with the window open. The washrooms aren't the best and was usually quite cold inside. Overall its a bit dingy and not the most comfortable
You get what you paid for. Room humid, window does not close, no heating in the room (they brought a portabe one after I asked). I would not recomend..
Very cozy place, safe and near to waterfront station. I had good time also at 515 a little bar they have. I will be back for sure. Thank you for the kindness of the staff
Great location, great staff and very nice price! Totally recommended for a few nights
Better / cleaner than I expected. Everything you need and great central location. I prefer this hostel over the Samsun on Granville as Cambie was a bit cleaner and quieter.
I’ve stayed in most hostels in Vancouver and I’m certain this is the best quality/price ratio in the city. I stayed for two weeks and everything worked out perfectly fine
The layout is challenging to navigate stairs with narrow turns and door( not accessible friendly). Room was a little drafty but heater provided free. a little bit more expensive than previous hostel in downtown Vancouver per night. Fridge was broken and the one working was small. Older looking hostel with physical keys seperate one for floor and room as well as fob for entering into guest area. Overall tolerable for one night but I would browse other hostels/ accommodations.
