Chiado Open World Hostel

Well, the immediate entrance to the building is also the garbage bag storage location. The lobby smells like a garbage dump on cool days. On hot days, it made me sick. It is never clear of trash. The messaging from this hostel is contradictory. I have never had a worse experience in my travels in fifty countries and 3 decades of travel. We received an email stating check-in was any time after noon. The first stay the doors were open and we received our room as it was clean at 12 noon. Later the hostel could not seem to work the reservation system and find our reservation. I had to provide the hostel copies of their emails and the reservation to complete everything. We were also leaving town to go to the countryside for 5 days and returning to stay one more night to fly home. The hostel could not find our second reservation either. We wished we could have cancelled. We received an email telling us again the room would be available to check-in at noon. We returned to town to find the doors locked and no response to messages on Booking.com. Luckily, a neighbor got us into the building. We got into the building and asked to check our bags per the website until our room was ready. Even though we had the emails with the noon time check-in and the check-bag policy, we had to sit with our bags until the room was ready, wasting hours of sightseeing time. Also, the first room was a normal room, the second room we received on the same reservation had a sloped attic room. It was extremely tiny and the someone left the skylight open, it rained, and the bed and floor were wet. The roof was so low that when you opened the skylight you could stand up and the roof line was around your waist and your head was above the outside tiles.

Cerradura rota. Chinches en la cama. Calor. Es una buhardilla donde no se puede estar de pie si eres alto. Mal ambiente. El personal grosero y mal educado, incluso violento. De hecho solicite la cancelación y no me quedé. Busque otro alojamiento pues en este las condiciones eran tercermundistas
