The facility was disgustingly dirty. I have never stayed in a place that was so dirty. Garbage cans were over flowing, bathrooms had no toilet paper, showers were not clean and there was garbage everywhere in bathrooms. I understand it was Christmas and there was probably very short on staff. The one staff member I saw was there when we arrived. I felt we completly over paid for what we got and had to clean our room and everything before we could use anything in the facilities.
C'était horrible. Une nuit dans une chambre privative lit simple avec un matelas défoncé... zéro confort.. extrêmement froid dans la chambre, j'étais congelé. Le gars à l'accueil aucunement souriant ni accueillant... sur l'étage, ça sentait énormément la peinture fraiche (manque d'aération) et les portes grinchaient ÉNORMÉMENT... on entendait tout à travers les portes et murs . Je ne retournerai jamais à cet endroit.
It was horrible. one night in a private room a single bed with a smashed mattress... zero comfort.. extremely cold in the room, I was frozen. the guys at the reception not smiling or welcoming at all... upstairs it smelled like fresh paint (lack of ventilation) and the doors were squeaking VERY... you could hear everything through the doors and walls. i will never go back to that place.
They put me in a room with some drug dealers or something. Super whack, would not recommend
Just fine. It's a cool old building but the service was poor. You have to strip your own bed, be out by 8 and the toilet didn't have paper plus we had to go ask for towels. Also, a staff member came in our room before checkout which was unpleasant. Kitchen was well stocked
Despite no smoking, smells of cigarettes stucked to bedsheets & matres, sad
The location is good and the staff is nice. It's not clean and that's a true downside.

It was mostly Sauber, the Kitchen was well equipped, however it was super cool in all the rooms (also in the guest rooms).
Bit of a weird feeling building overall, layout and decor is strange. Bathrooms are decent enough and kitchen is well equipped, rooms are weirdly set out but beds are clean and comfortable.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Very clean and healthy atmosphere. Would recommend this place for any traveler.
Very nice staff! I could use facilities after checkout, they had plenty of storage room, a pool table, a piano, guitars, games and a big kitchen with an actual functioning oven! Rooms have a certain charm. I would definitely come back again :)

Great place to stay! Amazing facilities, kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of rooms to hang out in! Absolutely loved the music room!! We stayed in a private room but it was clean and there was plenty of room! Would stay again
The word Dull comes to mind. It’s on High street. A quite steep street up from Princess street. No facilities close so a walk up and down the hill is needed each time something is needed. The hotel is a good value, basic hostel. No frills.
This was a great option to be central located in Dunedin for a couple of nights. Even though there was a large gap in the reception hours, so no staff around when we arrived, they proactively emailed the instructions for an easy self check-in. Chill atmosphere with big, well-organized and clean kitchen.
Really friendly owner who gave lots of great tips and advice for our travel plans. Hostel is a bit dated but it’s part of its charm as it’s an old Victorian building.

Older building but very well maintained, clean and tidy. Very happy and would certainly recommend. Excellent value for money ✔️👍👏 Ken Ridley Wellington
The receptionist is very helpful. Easy to talk to and very accommodating. The only cons is the shower, its hard to navigate the temperature. Overall feedback; very satisfied. Will definitely comeback!

My favorite place to stay in Dunedin. Always very friendly and helpfull staff, and never missed anything. Homely livingroom upstairs with plenty of sitting space and nice city view. The place is continusly improving for each time I’ve been there. The building also has an interresting past. A good place to get in touch with other travelers for sure.
A great unique place to stay! Lovely views from the hostel and a quick 20 minute walk to lots of attractions.Not many food options very close.
The hostel is in a good location, if you prefer to stay quite away from the centre, is better for hanging with people, the rooms and separations are perfect, and they do have a parking an easy accessibility.

Cozy place to stay, just have to be early cuz its tricky to get parking.
Reception is open at very inconvenient times: missing most of the afternoon and requiring you to be there at a certain point at night. They also seemed to require an unusually large amount of information. The facilities were very good.
The accommodation was well located in Wanaka, the beds were comfortable, and the place had a good vibe.
