Hostel bedgasm

Es war das schlechteste Hostel in dem ich jemals war, es gab Bettwanzen, über lag Staub, freundlich waren die Mitarbeiter aber man will sich doch schon irgendwo wohlfühlen!

PLEASE NOTE: this hostel has been removing or flagging their HostelWorld reviews according to other people here, which I find extremely poor and I would never stay somewhere doing that. Would not recommend staying here. I burned $250 AUD as I thought I would pre book this hostel due to the “vibe” and good reviews on hostel world. After stepping off my long flight and getting to this hostel in the serious heat and humidity, I was greeted with a stare and silence by the lady at the reception, told I cannot check in until 3pm, and the two Japanese guys that also work there just spoke Japanese and ignored me without saying hello or welcome. I immediately started looking for other hostels as I didn’t get a good vibe. I’ve been all over Europe and south east Asia and when a hostel doesn’t have a good vibe I just leave. Don’t waste your trip.. The kicker was many, many reviews here mention bedbugs and they are recent as of 2024 September. This was it for me, I am not taking that risk.. I can understand why as this place is pretty tired. When I came back after finding A16 Hostel (highly recommend there or Hostel DEN) the receptionist was much more open and chatty, but struggles with English on a deeper level. I did meet some nice people later on when I collected my bags, so there is some vibe here for solo travellers and I can see you could meet people here. It just isn’t that good, sorry.. there are a lot of better options in Tokyo and I think this place fails on manner and customer service. Also, it is extremely poor to read from other people here regarding the presence of bedbugs. I would believe it.. if you are removing reviews or masking the problem, that is unethical and I will be contacting HostelWorld for a refund.

Wie hier bereits seit knapp 6 Monaten erwähnt, gibt es Ende August noch Bettwanzen in der 5. Etage. Beide Betten, die mir angeboten wurden, hatten Bettwanzen Befall. Die Betreiber sind aber sehr höflich und zuvorkommend und haben mir ein Taxi zum neuen Hotel geholt, sowie mein Geld rückerstattet.

Should have read the reviews about bed bugs before booking. Was here for 7 nights at the end of July in the private room, which was incredibly small but did the job, and had to pack up and leave to find another hotel at 11:30 PM because I found bed bugs. The bites didn’t show up until a few days later but I was covered in them and was only given a refund for one night. Seems like an ongoing issue they still have not fixed. Staff is friendly and helpful but I would not recommend staying here

nice vibe but bed bugs

BED BUGS! BED BUGS! BED BUGS! Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in! NOT recommendable! Area was good and staff was nice though. Staff also understood the bed bugs situation and refunded 1/3 nights, which is still a shame, but better than nothing. Atmosphere was alright. Facilities on a pretty bad standard as well. I definitely would have expected a better standard in a modern country like Japan!

Had bed bugs and cancelled but kept my money anyway.

Really disheartened, I’d got there as the first place in my travels, only to get bitten by bed bugs, a friend also found a dead one which was seen by one of the staff but nothing much was done about it except a refund and money to wash their clothes,very disappointing. Positive things were that the staff are very kind

Bedbugs in June 2024 , 5th floor. Found bedbugs in the bed, the staff were very kind but it seems like an ongoing issue and not enough is being done to solve it. They paid for me to get clothes washed and dried and gave me a refund. But I do not recommend staying here because there is an ongoing risk of bedbugs!

This hostel has bedbugs and the staff do not do anything about it except pay to get clothes washed and dried. And they delete reviews. They are nice and social tho, but doing nothing about bedbugs

I had bed bugs from staying here it was my first stop on my travels. My friend found a dead one which the staff confirmed it’s definitely an issue they are aware of and they don’t do anything about it. I’ve got bites on my face and it’s honestly put a massive downer on my trip

Booked in for 4 nights and been here a few hours and already thinking of finding somewhere new. This place is not whats advertised at all, when you get into the dorm you are given a pile of sheets to make your own bed and the space around the bed (shelf and around the mattress) is disgusting and clearly not cleaned between guests if at all. Lots of hair, crumbs, dust, old hair ties and dead bugs. The wifi is shocking, works for 5 minutes then completely stops. The showers are not super dirty but definitely the clean. The common area is no a place you’d want to spend more than 5 minutes in and noise travels through the building from upper and lower floors and from outside, you can literally hear people walking around constantly. There was no one here when we checked in and we were sent an email with the door code and our bed numbers so had to figure out where everything was ourselves- definitely not the worst thing but i would have expected someone to be here for the price we paid. Also the location is around a 10-15 minute walk from the station and quite far out of town so you end up spending quite a bit on transport. Overall, absolutely not worth spending your money here, we are really struggling to figure out how this place has so many good reviews because honestly it’s terrible, especially compared to other hostels we have stayed in in japan before which were all to a much higher standard for a lower price. Also apparently theres been cases of bedbugs since march that are still ongoing (may 2024) and the hostel is deleting any reviews that mention this on hostel world.

Bed bugs as of may 2024. The staff was really kind though, and gave us a refund. Also the upper bunk on the women’s only floor, doesn’t have any curtains so you’re kinda staring at each other.

This place is great. There are no. Bedbugs!! And the people are fantastic. So social!

They removed our booking on Hostelworld, so we couldn’t write a review there. We had two great days there, but then we found bedbugs in both our beds. They did refund our last two days, but we had to find another place to stay for our last days in Tokyo, which ended up being very expensive. They did help us with spraying our backpacks. This was in the middle of march. I also noticed that they have deleted all of the reviews regarding bedbugs in that period. Nice hostel, but be aware of the bugs.

Great location! Good vibes and friendly staff. Currently a bed bug outbreak on floor 5! 3 people in the space of a few days checked out early as we overheard conversations regarding this a saw the bites! Girls dorm was fab, spacious and comfy. Only 1 shower working and a broken dryer meant unable to do laundry.

Bedgasm has a bedbug problem. I agree with everything positive everyone else said, the vibes in this place are immaculate and I found friends for life. BUT I stayed there two times, at the beginning and the end of my trip, and both times I got bitten heavily. This second stay I woke up and saw them crawling around the linen. I was in different rooms as well, so it has spread everywhere by now. I had to discuss a lot to get my money back. Didn't even get an apology. They need to fix this now.

Towel rental -_- ... Posting for my mate who was in the bigger dorm room. That room had bed bugs. He got savaged. My room and the private rooms were fine.

The atmosphere and the people are very nice, but I caught twice bedbugs in the hostel.

The hostel said they were short staffed because of covid. But the hostel was absolutely disgusting. Overflowing garbages, Bathroom/Showers not clean, bugs in the bed rooms.
