Polynesian Hostel Beach Club Waikiki

just came back to the hostel and found that all of my bedding has been removed from my bed, even though my checkout is on Sunday at 11 AM. I came back tonight to sleep and found everything gone with no notice. This is really frustrating and unprofessional. I’m still a guest here, and I need an explanation and a solution immediately. 26/04/2026

This was one of my worst hostel experiences ever, both because of overall experience/cleanliness and the price. I can’t believe I paid $90 for 1 night here, it should have been $30 MAX. The bathroom was filthy, all the carpets got soaked and smelled like mold, and the room mates left the doors wide open throughout the night because of poor ventilation. I was in a private room with my partner, but would have been money better spent at a hotel for just a little more $.

Room was not clean with plenty of sand on floor. Repeated issues with the malfunctioning Bluetooth door lock. When we went out for the night the Bluetooth door lock wouldn't lock, leaving the room unsecured. Staff tried to fix this issue when we were out but when we returned we were completely locked out of our room. It took two staff members and over 20 minutes for staff to get the door lock to open. Then, the Bluetooth door wouldn't lock again and so that killed the night for going out again.

There was roaches in the bathroom and absolutely no ventilation, I sweat constantly and as a heavier and larger person than normal I couldn’t sleep because it was hotter inside the room than 10 feet out the door which also had a window vent with no screen on it, the lobby where you check in was musty, other than that it was okay, they did my laundry for $8 and a lock for the same price

This is not a safe place

The room I was in was a private room which was reached by walking through a dorm room with a door dividing them. The dorm room was a mixed dorm. I chose a private room for safety reasons as a solo traveller so was not pleased with this layout. The windows did not lock. My room stank of god knows what. The floor was sticky. The bedding and towels were however clean and fresh and the staff on at the time were wonderful.

Avoid this hostal if you are loking for a private bedroom there is inside of another share room (no sense), everything was dirty inside the room and in general, the bathroom stank, the receptionist was null, we received the wrong entry code.

This place was terrible. So disappointed it was our first experience in Hawaii. Had a private room which had to be accessed through a dorm. Door needed to be banged with 2 hands to close. Noisy, dirty and hated the key system. Would never recommend to anyone.

There was no AC in our private room whatsoever. It was boiling hot with the humidity and sleeping was near impossible. The unit wasn’t properly cleaned, with the floors covered in dirt and dust. Bug screens on windows were missing entirely or broken, gnats everywhere. For some reason there was a bunch of old homeless looking guys loitering around the property, smoking cigarettes on the balconies. For $20 more, save yourself the hassle and get an actual hotel room in the same neighborhood.

This Hostel Is Horrible. Roaches crawled in my BED.! Pay a little extra and stay at a better hostel.! Very UnClean & Nasty.! I saw roaches crawling up the wall. The staff was really nice and helpful however I would never stay here again. The fire alarm went off all night. No air conditioning in the room. The rooms are noisy . There are a bunch of fans all over the room but rooms are muggy. I only stayed because the other hostels were sold out.! GO ELSEWHERE!

Great and fun hostel 5 minutes walk from the beach... the staff is welcoming and helpful plus they organiseactivitiesduringthe week! Rooms and social areas and big and it come with a good size kitchen too! It is a good place to stay

8.9/10. I spent 15 days at this hostel & grew to love it. It is a bit grungey but I thought the vibes were excellent. Quiet and not a huge party place, very easy to make friends and socialize. despite not knowing my room didn't have AC, I was comfortable every night, and the staff were incredible. I grew to love the atmosphere. A couple suggestions: please get a water refill station! And could use more excursions, I found myself jealous of nearby hostels w/ more activities & amenities.

Sebastian was the best thing about this hostel. Very helpful and kind. Hope to see you somewhere again in the world mininio~

Stoked I picked this spot. If you're coming to Waikiki to actually meet people and be right by the beach, this is the place. It’s literally a two-minute walk to the sand and the whole atmosphere is just super social. The common areas are always active so it’s easy to find a group to grab food or head out with. The staff are legends too—really helpful with the best local spots that aren't just tourist traps. Rooms were solid and the price is unbeatable for the location. Definitely the move...

Insgesamt war mein Aufenthalt in Ordnung. Leider hat es im Treppenhaus und im Dorm etwas unangenehm gerochen, vermutlich, weil der Teppichboden feucht war durch den Regen. Bei meiner Ankunft lag außerdem ein benutztes Ohrenstäbchen auf meinem Bett, was natürlich nicht so einladend war. Die Betten bezieht man selbst. Das Personal war super nett und hilfsbereit und die Lage ist top! Außerdem ist die Küche gut ausgestattet und der Aufenthaltsbereich ist gemütlich mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten...

The staff was super friendly, location was good and walkable to many things. Rooms were very bare bones but for the price I have no complaints. It was clean and every time was respectful.

Staff is Amazing !! I would def recommend.

This hostel is located right near the beach and has a very friendly, helpful staff as well as a convivial atmosphere in the communal kitchen and lounge area. It would be even better if there was one than one hook in the shared bathroom, however, and if the very worn, dirty carpeting on the stairs was replaced.
