Stay from hell

Felt discriminated by staff for the color of my skin, right away they asked me COMO TE PUEDO AYUDAR in a tone implying I wasn't supposed to be there, having the wristband already on my hand instead of receiving a Hi, how are you. Welcome...again at the bar the girl was a bit excluded while she helped the Europeans and European Americans 1st. also additional dates were charged full fare instead of getting assistance changing the dates

Avoid if you want to sleep. Bar plays obnoxiously loud music, and due to layout of the hostel it can be clearly heard everywhere. Receptionist told me it would stop at 10.30, bar was listed as closing at 11.30, but the music went on past midnight, making it impossible to sleep, even with earplugs (which they do provide). Also the open top walls mean you can hear everything from neighbouring bathrooms - not pleasant. Shame, as the rooms and facilities are good, and location is great, very central

I would not recommend this Hostal mainly because: 1) the rooms are not isolated at all (very difficult if you try to rest because you’ll hear the music from the rooftop and also the cleaning ladies very early in the morning); 2) the shower is very small and not well arranged, the door from the bathroom makes so much noise in the dorm, it’s not convenient at all.

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. Most unfriendly staff! They cannot differentiate between paying Clint and staff. Always crazy shouting by the staff everywhere. Electricity and internet is turning off and off every 15 minutes. This place looks good by the pics but trust me this is a mediocre hostel the best.

I chose the 4-bed dorm thinking it would offer more space, but it was a mistake. The room was too cramped for 4 beds, humid, hot, and didn’t feel clean. The worst part was that there were cockroaches in the room! The staff were very nice and gave me a private room (which I ended up sharing with one of the girls from the dorm). I appreciate their efforts to make me feel better, so I’m not giving 1 star, but it was still a very bad experience for me. Also, the atmosphere of the hostel was bori...

They have a lot to improve. The AC barely worked, so we asked to lower the temp 1-2 degrees and it turned to an ice box. The dorm room floor stayed dirty the entire time. Very hard to meet people. When I asked the front desk about where the start of the walking tour was she said there are no walking tours in Cartagena other than theirs, which is just a straight lie. Very bizarre. The hostel is so loud that you really can’t sleep at night or morning. I’ve stayed at 100+ hostels and this isn�...

Clean & rooms fine but 0 social vibe. There is a better hostel literally over the road.

Pros: +quality of the accommodation +nice rooftop +Welcome Drink +helpful hosts. Cons: -small signgle rooms w/o windows

I want to preface by saying the facilities outside of the rooms are fabulous! HOWEVER, the rooms are horrendous! You can barely move a muscle in there, there are so many beds stuffed in. Fans in each bed, BUT they vibrate through the bunk beds! Our room was right outside reception, horrendously loud! Lastly…the shower is in the room…the only thing separating you and the bunk beds when in the shower is a curtain! People were showering behind a curtain a 1.5 metres from where my head lay!

Very nice hostel - staff are very friendly and helpful. Private room was very nice but small. Good vibes. It was a little bit loud but that stopped around 11. Good location. Would recommend.

Best hostel I ever stayed! Karen, the event manager is such a great person, the hostel has a very big structure of employees which reflects in the spotless cleanliness and organization! There were so many events and mostly for free. It was a great time. Everyone was so nice from the front desk to the bar. I loved my stay in Los Patios and I am recommending to everyone that comes to Cartagena!

Loved the rooftop pool area and bar. Great staff and entertainment. Especially karen, making everyone feel welcome and bringing people together.

lot of noise in the morning since there are gaps on top of the doorm-walls. my bed made lot of noise with the slightest movement so i asked the housekeeping lady- which ignored me and laughed. then i told reception- they fixed it but 1 night later the noise was back… the beds are nice, big and lot of room for storage, with curtains. unfortunately the AC cant be adjusted, at night it can get bit cold. the cafe in front of the house serves nice food/breakfast.

This hostel was the best I ever been to. Very professional.. clean environment very friendly people. They even remember my birthday and celebrated with me. I recommend this hostile to anybody that’s traveling if you want a safe, friendly professional clean environment with very good people very great management. Very great staff come to this hostel I approve either one out of five stars I give it a 2500 highly recommended.

Good value in the middle of the party in Getsemani, very busy and loud area, watch out for the amount of stairs and lack of a lift. The city was still fixing the road in front of the hostel, but that started 6 month ago

I stayed here for 3 nights in a mixed 6 bed dorm and was very happy with it! amazing location, I actually did not find it loud at all in my room. Room and ensuite were clean, security lockers in the room. Great atmpsphere, and activities for meeting people. The only downside was the pool looked like it needed a cleaning (a couple of us ended up taking cold showers and sitting by the pool rather than going in it). Overall great hostel and would recommend!

My girlfriend and i booked this Los Patios location after an amazing experience at the medellin los patios. The customer care is so above and beyond. From front desk staff to the cafe to the cleaning staff. Definitely a pricier option for hostel stays but given this was a short trip and i was able to budget for it I’m super happy to have stayed at these locations.

Super hostel, avec une vue magnifique. Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Nous y étions en famille avec 3 enfants et ils leur ont même préparer un petit cadeau à chacun, une délicate attention qui leur a fait plaisir !

Hostel très agréable

Nice hostel, great location and lots of events (dances classes, drinking games, yoga,…) but definitely one of the loudest ones I stayed at. The walls are not solid, so that you can hear basically everything from the spaces outside the dorms. Earplugs are for free - but for people with light sleep definitely not helpful enough.

Honestamente, el mejor hostal en el que me he alojado durante todo mi viaje a Colombia. Sí, las habitaciones son un poco más caras, pero todo está limpio, hay buenos eventos e instalaciones y cosas bonitas. Definitivamente volvería.

Los Patios is amazing. It was super clean, friendly and a great base to explore Cartagena. I would 1000% recommend. One of those hostels that has the magic of bringing strangers to best friends in a few days.

Excellent. I stayed in a 4-person dorm, AC worked, bed was ok, included a fan and light, + privacy curtain. Great shower. Facilities all good. It's a shame the road is being ripped up directly outside at the moment but that's not the hostel's fault and it'll make the local facilities much improved in the future, so I've no complaints. Thank you.
