La Veranda Hotel & Restaurant

Very disappointed in this hostel. Don’t know why the rating is so high. It is not at all like the pictures. They have added extra accommodation quite far from the main hostel. It felt very overcrowded, especially by the pool. Too many people for the shared spaces. No sunbeds or space in shady spots. The new rooms (privates) are VERY basic, no lockers or lamps. Mosquito nets don’t cover the beds. Disappointing for the price. However, views are nice and the food is tasty and big portions.

We booked a dorm room and when we got there they located us in an other building. We needed to walk back evertime to the real hostel. Included breakfast is nice. Staff is kind. But the menu on spot is really expensive! Couldn't eat there and needed to go to Minca village. You can't open or close the dorm door. Shower is very dirty at the second building. Water filter for refill bottle was nice. And we had a shower towel for free.

Prima hotel! Fijn terras met zwembad en ontbijt dat was inbegrepen was lekker. Mijn dorm was alleen erg vochtig en er zat schimmel op het plafond van de badkamer.

Super schönes Hotel am Hang mit sauberem Pool und tollem Ausblick. Leider sind die Betten im Dorm sehr unbequem und bieten kaum Privatsphäre. Auch die Terasse ist eher schwierig konstruiert und wird eines Tages einstürzen :/ Ansonsten sehr nett plus höfliches Personal und gutes Essen

Wifi & electricity unstable, only one bathroom for 6 dorms. Some dorms are veeeery far from the common area :/ All in all very prwtty place and relatively cheap restaurant for the quality. New and clean dorms :) Would go there again if i was assures a closer room

Really nice hostel, good food, good bar, good pool. The 4 person dorms were a 5 minute walk outside of the main hostel area, and had no locks on the door. However, we still felt safe & the dorms and bathrooms were super clean. Location is quite far out, a 30 minute walk uphill from Minca town, and no taxis at night.

Loved it here, felt like a bit of luxury. The pool was so nice and the views were amazing. Food in the restaurant was mainly good, if a bit expensive. The dorm room was fine but the bed was quite small and you were very close to other people so I would recommend staying in a private room or a 2/4 person dorm room.

This is a lovely, very chilled out hostel. I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm which was basic but comfortable & shower has hot water. The private rooms looked amazing. The food was good (veryyyyyy slow though) and the view is incredible. there are a couple of restaurants close by but the walk to town isn’t too bad, takes 20-30 mins or an easy mototaxi.

definitely not a social hostel. I wish they hosted activities of some sort since they are so far from town. however, food is great, pool is great, and the staff was excellent.

Beautiful hostel with amazing view, especially for sunset. Staff are so nice and attentive. Happy hour and the free breakfast are great! Only downside is the distance from town.

Nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour à La Véranda, comme je pense la majorité des personnes sur places - tout le monde souhaitait rallonger son séjour :) La vue est magnifique, le petit déjeuner est compris (avec café à volonté) et l'atmosphère y est calme et reposante. L'hostel est à 30 min de Minca, mais cela se fait très bien à pied comme en moto taxi. We loved our stay here! The pool is amazing and you can chill on the deck to watch some great sunsets over Minca. The food in the restaurant is also great! It’s not super sociable but we were travelling in a group so didn’t mind too much!

Amazing hostel to chill, not social tho and not a lot of solo travelers, other than that stunning place with lovely staff

We loved this place so much - beautiful, tranquil, great views and fantastic food. It was exactly what we needed after a busy few days in Medellin. It about a 5 min drive to the Minca village by motorbike so great location. It’s not a social place - it’s very quiet and relaxing. The staff don’t have much English but they were super nice. The only downfall was the weird ambient music they played during breakfast, it really didn’t suit the vibe. The breakfast itself was delicious!

Great hostel. I highly recommend, very clean and beautiful. Great value for price. Good to know: They have their own restaurant and at night because it’s a 20min walk away from town, you sometimes find yourself having to eat at their restaurant.

I only stayed here 1 night during my week in Minca, but wish it was longer! I shared the 4-person female dorm down the road with one other person. It was spacious and cool and I loved the deck outside. Also my first hot shower in a week! Dinner was fresh though a little bland; happy hour drinks and included breakfast were great. The pool area was incredible for lounging and wifi was reliable and fast for the computer work I needed to do. Staff was kind and the overall vibe was very friendly.

La Veranda is a lovely hotel to stay at. The views are great, the pool is nice and there is a small natural stream/waterfall nearby we went to twice. It is close enough to the village of Minca that we walked there, had dinner in the town and could then easily take a mototaxi back up to the hotel with no problem. Additionally, a nice hike past Finca La Candelaria and up to Mirador 360 is possible straight from the hotel.

Very nice place to stay. It’s a little ways out the centre of Minca, about 30 min walk from the centre, all uphill so we recommend getting motor taxi back up (they carry big rucsacs too!) We stayed in the 8 bed dorm and pretty much had the whole thing to ourselves. The room was nice, clean, had lots of storage in a little dressing room off the bedroom and towels refreshed everyday. They could do with some curtains over the beds for privacy and some shelves and a lamp in the bed compartments

Très bel hostel, très belle vue sur Minca, grande piscine. Seul bémol : pas très friendly et restaurant plutôt cher

The kindest staff, incredible view, lovely food, can’t fault !!!
