Everything is worn out, the toilet doesn’t flush properly and had to tell them there’s no toilet paper, the shower spraying water in every direction and full of old shampoo bottles, the room price is similar to a hotel while much smaller and shittier, they charge for every single thing they can

Good vibe internet speed not good for working

Good location to explore the area by foot or public transport, though it’s very touristy. Staff was friendly but not very engaging or social atmosphere. Bathrooms were not clean: mold in the ceiling and tiles, and broken shower doors. The 4-bed dorm was small and didn’t have bed curtains as shown in the photos. Overall, too expensive for what you get.

I had really hoped I could rate this property well because the manager of the hostel was nice, however, if I'm going to be honest, this was one of the most disappointing hostels I've stayed at. To start, it is not cheap for what you get. - The rooms are tiny: I couldn't open the door if my suitcase was on the floor in a private room for 3! People in bunk rooms had an even worse problem - You have to PAY to use a tiny, poorly stocked kitchen, I have never experienced this at a hostel - The so...

The facilities have not been updated, modified, painted since a long time. There is no locker room, the beds are from 1945. On top its expensive.

They forgot to charge me for a barbecue which I was under the impression I paid for at check in. They only realised this when I was in the taxi to the airport, so they called the taxi driver (booked via hostel) when I’m already half way there and make him DRIVE BACK so that I can pay the €10 for the barbecue. I had left ample time but could literally have missed my flight. There are so many better ways to deal with it, send payment link, charge card via the website etc. Shocking service!

I would NOT stay here again, it’s a bit dirty, plus the rooms are the higher floors so you need to carry your bags climbing up since there’s no elevator. Little to no social events, plus the rooms are very COLD.

El lugar tiene la mejor ubicación posible, cercano a las grandes zonas de Mezquitas , Santa Sofía y La Mezquita azul; estación del tren justo en la esquina y todo lo indispensable cerca. La atención y calidez de Jhon , el dueño espectacular y recomiendo mucho las cenas con ellos, porque en efecto parecen cenas familiares de buena calidad. El pero es el estado general del edificio con visibles carencias de mantenimiento y habitaciones compartidas diminutas.

We booked the Luxury and private room with private bathroom. The room didn't match the photos and we had a big surprise when we saw that our bathroom in the room had no door, only a shower curtain to divide, and they said that no one never complained before. We booked for 2 nights but they moved us to another room in a building next to the hostel for the 2nd night, luckily with a bathroom with a door. They didn't charge us any extra for the change.

I had a good stay here. Good location right in the heart of the Golden Horn, so close to the metro and so many places. I also met lots of cool people, there's a good rooftop social space where people get together and they host the regular family dinner. A couple of the staff were really nice too, especially the younger ones. The hostel itself is clean and well equipped. The bed was comfy and shower decent. It wasn't cheap for a hostel and they are keen to sell you tours etc but obv optional.

Had an amazing experience here, helped organise a pub crawl, went to heaps of places and had the best time, would definitely recommend, the roof top had amazing views with a shisha.

It s best hostel in the İSTANBUL people in there they re great and also they always make event every day best chance to have a good memory . And hostel is very clean and well located they organized family dinner in the rooftop after that organized game and party . You will never get bored in this hostel

Great place to stay. I stayed at a few hostels in Istanbul and this was my favorite. Great rooftop atmosphere with hookah a d BYOB. Shout out to Faruk for being such a great host!

I had an incredible experience at this hostel. The location was perfect, the accommodations were clean and spacious, and the staff was extremely friendly and energetic. Faruk and Mehmet organized an unforgettable night out on the Bosphorus followed by a pub crawl with rooftop bars. Also, they were hugely helpful in coordinating the delivery of my luggage to the hostel after it arrived late to the airport. So thankful for my time here!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in :) Fun events, yummy food, the best staff, and the cutest kitty Mimi in the world❤️ I’ll definitely be back!

You feel taken care of from the moment you arrive. The social areas and events are great, so the social aspect is fully covered by staying here. The staff is amazing and that I would definitely recommend this place!

I'm so glad I decided to stay here! The people are great and the staff is wonderful at getting everyone together. The dinners have been delicious and last night we went to boat party on the Bospharus! Thank you to Faruk and the rest of the staff for giving us all a great night!

I had an amazing time at Second Home. Memo, Faruk and Violetta (sorry if I missed others) were amazing staff, the terrace on the roof was an awesome place to meet other travellers. My only downsides was that sometimes events felt a little pricey, and questioned whether they used them to subsidize accommodation costs. The floor of my hostel room was incredibly dusty, I put my bag down on the floor and it was super dirty when I picked it back up. Otherwise, 100% would stay again.

Absolutely unmatched location right by Hodjapasha and walking distance from all major attractions. Memo was extremely helpful with local recommendations, tips, helpful insights and arranging travel for us. We researched a lot before our trip but his tips turned out to be most useful for us. We couldn’t have chosen a better stay for our short trip to Istanbul.

Was a great hostel with very friendly and helpful staff in a wonderful location to everything I highly recommend and would stay again!!

I stayed in a private room (which are in an adjacent building). I did not find the hostel very social and not sure why it has such a high rating - I visited the communal rooftop every day I was there and most times, there was nobody there. The family dinner was also canceled every night I was there due to low sign ups (and I was there for 5 nights). However, the staff are very nice :)

This hostel was awesome! The people and the vibes were great and so was Faruq! Definitely recommend the boat party and the pub crawl was my favourite thing in Istanbul and faruq did an amazing job at making sure everyone had a fun time.

I love Faruk
