Most overrated place I’ve stayed so far. Complete rip off. I’ve never stay again.
This was a really nice hostel and the staff were lovely, especially the receptionist who helped me move rooms so I could be with my friends but why the hell was someone using a leaf blower on the path right outside the rooms between 7-9am. Put such a downer on my stay and my opinion of this place Also the bar closes so early at 9pm. Was very inconvenient when you’re a 25 minute walk from town
Trop de monde, c'est l'usine il faut attendre pour avoir une poele, un couteau ..., tables collantes. Manque d espace de vie calme.. Musique à fond le soir. C'est pour fêtard. Et pour 56 AUD en dortoir de 6 avec une salle de bain HS, on peut attendre mieux Point positif, Chambre spacieuse et propre. Plage a proximité. Yoga gratuit (mais a plus de 30 sous tente faite pour 20. Mauvaise expérience.
Too many people, it's the factory you have to wait to have a stove, a knife ..., sticky tables. Lack of quiet living space.. Music at the bottom in the evening. It's for partygoers. And for 56 AUD in a 6 bedroom dorm with a HS bathroom, one can better wait Point positif, Spacious and clean room. Beach nearby. Yoga free (but a more than 30 under tent made for 20.
Lovely place, but I felt like the staff were being very unfairly treated by management, they all seemed to be working hard whenever I saw them but they were constantly treated like petulant children.
Honestly not too great - clean the rooms everyday but never manage to get rid of the sand. Parking gets full and you’re told to risk a ticketdespite being told free parking on booking. Facilities are good but not very social - surfboards are also terrible. Not sure it’s worth the price overall.
Not a full party hostel but not what I expected. The pool and bar are nice but the place lacks comfortable seating and chill areas. The common rooms and bar close early, together with the hostel catering to young tour groups and not encouraging socialising it's not the best place for a solo traveller. Its definitely on the expensive side and they also charged an extra processing fee for paying by card and don't include towels which should be standard. The food storage was infested with ants.
The place is nice And such nevertheless the dryer machine swallowed my coins twice and I didn’t get a refund the out of order sign had fallen and the machine continued to take my money. 10AUD less for something that wasn’t my fault
Not a great hostel. Uncomfortable beds. Stayed in yha brisbane and was such a good property. My guess is yha byron would be a better bet
The location is nice but little far away from the center and so it depends on what you are looking for.. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place if you are over 30 yo because there were just groups of people aged around 20s The little house used as dormitory was really dirt and there were people not from the hostel who slept there over night as there is no control on guests there are getting in ..
Room and bedding were dirty, tap water was barely drinkable and bathrooms were super dirty. But starf were friendly and events were well-run.

Had a lovely stay at WakeUp Byron! With the beautiful pool area, activities like yoga and the proximity to the beach, it felt more like a resort than a hostel. Would definitely recommend! Staff was super kind. Special shout out to night shift Bautista, who was super helpful!
My stay at Wake Up! Byron Bay was amazing. The hostel is amazing and has a really friendly atmosphere. The staff were helpful, the location near the beach is perfect, and the social vibe makes it easy to meet other travelers. Also the shuttlebus is perfect!

Amazing hostel, great atmosphere super friendly staff, great events, the travel center wich is basically in the hostel is also extremely convenient and friendly. only downside is that it is a 20 min walk from town. there is a shuttle every hour though
Great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and there were plenty of showers and toilets. It’s away from the town centre but the shuttle runs regularly and during the day it’s a beautiful walk on the beach to get to town.
Ich würde immer wieder kommen, es ist mit keinem anderen Hostel vergleichbar. Nachdem ich im wakeup war sind alle anderen hostels einfach nur schlecht, also fangt niemals mit dem Hostel direkt am Anfang an. Ich hab keine Worte wie schön es dort war, die Leute die Atmosphäre einfach alles. Küche ist auch Mega
I would keep coming back, it is not comparable to any other hostel. after i im wakeup war all the other hostels are just bad, so never catch up with the hostel directly at the beginning. i have no words how beautiful it was there, the people the atmosphere just everything. the kitchen is also mega
Honestly such a nice place to stay in❣️The pool and beach right next to the hostel is great for lounging around during the day and there are activities every evening and a bar so it’s so easy to make friends. Kitchen and bathrooms are super clean and staff is rlly helpful. I’d say the only minus is being 30 min walk away from town but they do offer free shuttles quite often so it’s not that deep;)
Loved our stay in a private en-suite room. Bed was very comfy, shower was great. Lovely balcony too. Perfect stay even for oldies like us, while our daughter enjoyed her stay in the dorms!!
Had a lovely stay here , rooms clean, pool nice, not near shops but there is a free shuttle on the hour. Just wish there was curtains on the bed and hand dryer or towels in the ensuites
Lovely room, great atmosphere, clean kitchen (relatively as a hostel) and very nice staff. Maybe should have hand towels for bathrooms? The sauna was suprisingly genuine for a Finnish person. Also liked the location since it was nice and chill a bit further out with the beach right there. Overall really good!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE HERE! 🌊Honestly I was doubting to come here because there's no curtains but I took a females dorms only and everything was fine! So many things included here, a lot of activities, free shuttle to the center every hour, always super clean, big kitchen and AMAZING staff. I have to make a BIG mention to the manger, I think her name was✨Agustina ✨!! She literally spend 5 hours with me trying to get my flight back home (because the company cancelled without telling me) BIG L...

I had an excellent time at Wake Up Hostel in Byron Bay. I would like to thank Adzy for his warm welcome and kindness. He managed to put me and my friend in the same room, even though that wasn’t the case at first. I can’t wait to come back soon !☀️

My overall experience at Wake Up Byron Bay was amazing from start to finish. From the clean facilities to coastal location I was left more than happy after my week long stay! Big shout out to Piet and Summer at reception for top class customer service 😁☀️
