Bambuda Castle

The Location is the worste. They are no shuttels or collectivo buses. Taxis 5$+ one way! They stole clothe during laundry didn't refund/compensated at all. Didn't clean the bathroom or provide toilet paper for my entire stay 2,5 days. Under constructions! Very noicy and ugly. No free water/caféy-not like a hostel. Atmosphere is very cold. The offered tours are just brazen/antisocial. I.g. 40$ for pipeline trail, 50$ for waterfall trail - but entrance is only 5$ and 10$ its a shame! Never again...

I have had the worst night in a hostel ever here. We had a dorm room with 6 beds for 2 nights. On the first night around 10.30 it seemed that we had the room to ourselves because no one else checked in. Around 11 at night, the door was thrown open and 2 loud local guys came in with a girl. They were all in a bathingsuits an didn’t have anything else with them. The guys were clearly drunk and on drugs ( they even asked us if it was ok if they smoked weed in the room) and the girl was almost pas...

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und das Essen lecker zum fairen Preis. Was gar nicht geht, sind die Stockbetten. Sobald sich Jemand bewegt, bewegen sich beide Betten. Hier gibt es in anderen Hostels definitiv bessere Lösungen.

like super cool and all, the internet is very fancy and the view is amazing, just as in the pictures. It is one of those hostels though, that only revolves around money and nothing else, the stuff is friendly cause they are paid to be so, and the restaurant is definitely overpriced. Overall I felt like in an episode of “the white Lotus”

Obviously the castle is cool and the pool and jacuzzi were a lovely treat - however, the kitchen is rubbish and the restaurant is too expensive for us backpackers.

Looks just like the pictures. Location is far but I just chilled at the hostel for a day. Food was good. I LOVED that there were power outlets EVERYWHERE. So easy to charge your phone everywhere you go. The only downside is that the WiFi did not work in the dorm. For about 30€ a night, and such a bad location I would have wished this worked better. I do think it is a little overpriced, but if you want a hotel feeling instead of backpacking, this is it. It is not very social though.

It's a hotel with a couple of dorm rooms, not a hostel. It's very far away from town, food and drinks are not very great and a bit expensive. I wouldn't recommend staying there unless you don't want do anything and spend much more money than in a hostel.

Beautiful property! They are doing quite a bit of renovations so some things are closed, but the noise is bearable. It is far from the town, so a taxi is needed ($2-3 each way). The food at the restaurant is good, but there is no kitchen. They offered all the guests we had met, but us, a complimentary breakfast due to the noise from the construction. Had to ask staff multiple times for this benefit, as they had said this was “not true” (yet guests had physical coupons)

Hotel is under construction which was hidden from me. Kitchen is closed. Pool is closed during the day and did not seem clean. Dorm room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. View is beautiful. When construction is over this place will be worth the price.

Les gérants ont fait le choix de faire cohabiter une ambiance luxe avec un hostel et ce mélange est très mal réalisé. Quand nous séjournons à l’auberge, nous n’avons pas accès à la salle du restaurant qui a la vue sur les plants de café sans consommer. La cuisine est en sous sol à 1 mètre de la piscine. Very good property with lots of things to do including a cinema room. It is around a 50 - 60 minute walk to the ‘city’ or $2 in the shuttle. I was in the 6 bed dorm, the rooms are cleaned but there was a clump of someone else’s hair in the shower that remained the 5 nights I was there.

Honestly a great place to stay! Less hostel vibes and more fancy hotel vibes, which is exactly what I was looking for. It is slightly out of town, but the views are worth it and they have a shuttle that can take you into town as needed. There is a common space, however I found that most people who stayed here were travelling with someone (myself included). They also had great tours that you can book right from the hostel.

This is one of my favorite hostels ever. Even if you don’t want to go to boquete you should come here for a spa day. The dorms are so spacious and the beds comfortable. I gave them my laundry at 10pm and it was all done an dry by 7am. Everyone was so friendly especially Melanie from the front desk. I met a lot of nice people and the shuttle into town is just 2$. Beautiful hostel with loads of facilities and great views. A little outside of town so you have to pay for a shuttle to get anywhere and not super sociable for solo travellers but lovely for a few days of chill

Can’t recommend this place enough! Beautiful in every detail! The staff was so welcoming and got to know your name. Dorms were clean, had fans, and curtains. Lockers and cubbies for everything. A little outside of town so recommend getting the phone number of the shuttle driver to coordinate getting picked up if you want to go hiking. Taxis can be taken back to the Castle from town! Loved our stay here.

Amazing hostel ! the staff was so friendly and very helpful. The facilities are amazing, the beds are very comfortable, you have access to a spa, climbing wall, cinema room and game room for free. We worked in the co-working space and it was very comfortable! After days in cheap hostels it was very nice to have a comfy night, we rested perfectly, can't recommend it more ! I wish we had stayed longer.

Increíble lugar. Bonito, acogedor , relajante.. te sientes como una verdadera reina en castillo. Su jacuzzi es increíble. Una sala de juegos enorme y súper elegante. El personal súper top . Se notaba la buena energía. El cuidado del hotel y el jardín. La comodidad y el olor de las habitaciones. Me habría quedado 1 semana solo para desconectar. Y obvio su deliciosa comida.

Ein unvergleichliches Erlebnis! Bestes Hostel! Es gibt alles was man sich wünschen könnte. Die dorms sind absolut komfortabel. Das Essen ist richtig lecker und preislich voll okay. Es gibt einen Indoor pool und ein richtig gemütliches Kino. Außerdem einen Raum mit Billardtisch und Spieleecke. Eine tolle Sonnenterasse mit schöner Aussicht. Einen co-working Raum. Schoon, mooie kamer, prachtig uitzicht, zeer goed restaurant. Personeel is zeer behulpzaam. Toen er iets mis was met onze reservering kregen we een upgrade. Leuk zwembad en activiteiten ruimte.

Keine klassische Backpacker-Unterkunft. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gehoben. Es gibt so viele Möglichkeiten sich in der Unterkunft zu beschäftigen, dass man diese eigentlich nicht verlassen muss (Spiele). Das größte Manko für uns war die Entfernung zur Stadt, dafür näher an den Wanderungen.

Ik heb een super fijne tijd gehad bij Bambuda Castle. Het hostel is prachtig, het personeel is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de faciliteiten zijn super! De bedden zijn heel comfortabel en ik ben helemaal tot rust gekomen. Het hostel ligt iets verder uit de stad, maar het personeel helpt graag met het regelen van taxi’s naar de stad.

This is the coolest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The outside appearance is amazing and the rooms are also really well done with loads of storage for each bunk. Restaurant/bar area is really nice and looks more like a fancy hotel than a hostel

I stayed in the 6 p. Dorm and it was great! You have stairs instead of ladders- so well planed. movie room, board games, reading area, indoor pool and a huge garden- it’s so good in there we barely left the house. Food was really delicious and really fair prices as well. Staff was outstanding friendly and helpful- I wasn’t just called a princess, I was treated like one. Such a beautiful hostel and property. It is a bit out of town but definitely walkable or you can get a taxi for about $5. The staff in the restaurant were really welcoming and friendly and the meals were reasonably priced. The rooms were spacious and clean. Definitely recommend for a quiet break.
