Samba Ahangama

Clean beds but… chill area is a public restaurant that is overpriced (most expensive beer Ive seen in Sri Lanka). Bed was comfortable but room had some much light coming in from outside and if the toilet was used at night… For the price I would have expected better 🙏

Only plus is the coworking area with good WiFi and ther clean bathroom. There is no kitchen, so you have to order food (which wasn’t great). Room was extremely cold because of the AC, so it was hard to sleep. It's not a very social hostel either. Stayed in much better hostels in Ahangama/Weligama. Not special.

Ich habe ein Privatzimmer gehabt. Das Bett war bequem und alles hat soweit funktioniert. Die Dusche war aber nicht „warm“ wie in der Beschreibung steht. Das Personal ist nett aber nicht sehr Social was nicht schlimm war. Man hört leider den gesamten Lärm der Straße. Man braucht 25min zu Fuß in den Ortskern, was ok war.

The hostel is ok, but you should that it is not social at all. No bigger tables or possibilities to connect. The dorms and facilities are relatively clean. A locker for your luggage would be nice :)

Solid hostel just not too social, but I was there in the off season. The bar and interior is really well made, but a lot of small tables so not really a place to gather and meet and people. I would say it’s perfect if you need a break from partying and just want to surf!

We booked six nights at samba, but only stayed for 3 nights, due to no air conditioning even though it was written that it was included in their description of the dorm room when we booked it. It was impossible to sleep in the dorm room because of the heat which caused a lot of mosquitoes. There weren’t included breakfast either which we also assumed from the description of the hostel. Overall okay, did not live up to their description of the hostel fertilities

Zimmer war schön aber Vorhänge gibt es nur unten und Türen zu den duschen ließen sich nicht verschließen. Badezimmer hätte etwas sauberer sein können aber ein großes plus dass es so ein großes Badezimmer für 6 Personen gab. Social ist das Hostel leider aber so gar nicht da es eher ein Restaurant mit Dorms ist aber ohne Social Area.

L’auberge Samba est plutôt bien placé et très propre. Les lits des dortoirs sont confortables et salle de bain propre. En revanche, si vous voulez une ambiance sociale ce n’est pas vraiment l’endroit. Ambiance plutôt calme, style hôtel, il n’y a que deux dortoirs. Les plats du restaurant sont délicieux.

Samba is a really nice and friendly place! The bathrooms were honestly some of the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka — clean and even with hot showers! The room was comfortable, but it would be great to have curtains for the windows and to turn off the outside light at night, as it shine into the room a bit. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hostel!

The beds were very comfortable and the room smelled fresh and clean. It's not very social but more of a just sleeping type of hostel, including a restaurant Bathroom was good, water pressure and temperature good quality

Welcoming, kind and helpful team working there. Clean and comfortable rooms with great facilities.

Lovely hostel to stay at very calm and chill. Beds very comfy, is just outside the centre of Ahangama so is more relaxed but everything is still very easily accessible. Close to secret beach which is good for a swim/ reading. Hostel staff were lovely and helpful.

Weniger sozial als erwartet, dennoch sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, Personal war sehr nett.

Lovely hostel, very nicely equipped and I really like the design & it was very clean. The food is a bit pricey, but as the rooms are not too expensive, it was fine anyways :) Also the atmosphere was very lovely and I met gorgeous people there and extended my stay even for a couple of nights. It’s a good location, especially when you have a scooter - the rooms are quiet but you’re still everywhere super quick.:)

The hosts were really nice! Only thing it was not that social, but it was off season.

The overall impression was really good! The rooms were clean, had AC, bed had curtains for privacy. Towels were also provided, which was nice. The only downside was the lack of curtains on the windows facing other dorms — once it got dark and the lights were on, you could easily see into the neighboring rooms. The bathrooms were actually great: spacious and very clean. The location is a bit farther from the city center, but it’s just a short walk to the Secret Beach!

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt dort! Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das Personal ist super zuvorkommend

Only 10/10 best hostel, felt so clean and so fresh it was amazing, good location and nice rooftop for the sunsets, would recommend 100%!

Rooms were lovely and so many bathrooms was a great place to stay

Das Hostel ist an sich sehr schön mit einem süßen Café, allerdings kann gefühlt jeder in die Dorms laufen, es gab abends keinen Nachtwächter (oder habe zumindest niemanden gesehen) und die Eingangstüren waren offen.
