Our Jungle House

Nature around To be honest, our stay was disappointing. The restaurant staff were rude and visibly unhappy, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. During meals, monkeys repeatedly came into the restaurant area and stole food directly from guests’ tables. The hotel was unable to provide any staff member or solution to manage the situation, which raises serious concerns about guest safety and hygiene. Monkey stepped on my omelette and when i asked to change it, the staff was unhappy with my request. After just one night at the hotel, both my son and I developed severe itching. Later, we realised that we had been bitten by bedbugs during the night. The itching lasted for over a week, which was very distressing. In addition, we did not receive the accommodation we booked. I had reserved a two-storey house, but upon arrival we were given a different house with two separate rooms. When I asked about this, I was simply told that the room I booked was occupied by other guests. Overall, the experience did not meet basic hospitality standards, and I would not recommend this hotel.

The concept of this hotel is amazing and the tree houses are so cool with the jungle noises surrounding you. The tours they organise are also great and the food in the restaurant was really good. The staff were really difficult to communicate with, although they were not trying to be rude or difficult it was just challenging everytime we interacted with them. I had booked the overnight Khao Sok floating bungalow stay with them over email, but then when checking in was told about the different trips they had on offer, when I said I had already booked they were confused and took a while to find the emails. Quite minor but shows how no one seems to communicate with each other or there’s no centralised system. Then we got into bed later and discovered bugs in the bed - not sure if they were actual bed bugs or just bugs. We understood we were staying in the jungle and were prepared for bugs in the room etc, but not actual bugs with eggs inside of the bed sheets? We told reception and they kindly let us change rooms which was good but it was late and quite an ordeal having to pack and move out. A guy working there helped us carry our bags and locked up our first room and took the key. Then the next morning when checking out we were asked for the key to our first room multiple times and were not believed when we said we didn’t have it. We were told to meet at reception at 9.15 for our tour. When leaving our treehouse at 9.10 a woman was rushing towards us saying everyone was waiting which was quite frustrating as if they had said 9am which clearly was the actual time everyone met then we would have been there. We asked for them to do some washing for us as we had been in the bed with the bugs without realising and explained there was a tshirt in the original room that must have been left in there and we would like it added to the washing, as they had the key. We spoke to two separate people and explained this and they said yes no problem. When we arrived back the following day from our tour it was clear our washing had been forgotten about when we checked if it was done and they rushed to get it done before our bus, which they did kindly.
