Thamel Hotel & Spa

+ It was clean I could store my bag there.

- They offer an Airport Shuttle Service for 10 USD. It's quite expensive. They tell you in advance that it is 10 Dollar, but I know that this price is too high. They try to exploit you. At the airport the driver who picked me up wanted me to give to another person an additional amount of money. Then I wanted to pay in USD at the hostel, but they only excepted my credit card and charged me some fee. So rude. After that bad experience I wanted to leave Nepal. These people really think tourists are walking ATMs. So respectles. I am glad that I found another place, where they treat people (both male & female) with more respect. They are so friendly at this other place. Really good people. If I were you don't go to this Thamel Hostel. Avoid that, especially if you are female.🤮 I have noticed that they treat men completely different and with more respect.

+ The room was reasonably clean though nowhere near as quiet as promised.

- As I found out, misleading their clients seems to be the name of the game as I booked a bus ticket through the hotel to Pokhara, was promised a window seat on the right (so I could get a view of the river), and on boarding found myself in the worst seat on the bus; the middle seat which doesn't even recline. The bus company was Reliable International Travel & Tours. I wouldn't book with the hotel or the bus company again as I don't appreciate being misled.

- Tener que subir tres plantas para llegar a mi habitación y la poca educación del personal. Me recibieron tumbados en un colchón en el suelo.

- i booked one night and they were only insisting me on booking a cab with them,.. when i told them it is not necessary they didnt like a lot. then i called them to ask them to cancel and explained them why and they told me oh yes no problem yes you cancell we understand we will refund no problem but the real thing is that i could never either change my dates or get my refund. about the hostel itself i have no idea. i am just giving bad review regarding the communication with the staff in the hostel, it was only 4 euros one night but i didnt like the fact that they lie to you and the fact that they insist you in cabs and all kind of tours even before arrival,.. about rest i cannot give any opinion

+ The staff were lovely, I had such a wonderful perception of this place! It's a very well maintained place... Until nighttime. I was in a 4bed with 3 men (I'm a young woman). A 60+ senior, a man in his 30s, and an apparent 'child' in his 20s. They took snoring to a new level of the word, actual hurricane. I endured it for about 2 hours, and then decided to treat it LIKE AN ACTUAL HOSTEL. Sometimes people speak quietly, meditate, read, watch movies at a low volume, etc. when other customers are keeping them awake all night. I WAS ATTACKED TWICE. The 20 year old got so VIOLENT and aggressive, actually shouting at me, smashing on the cupboard- I mean, no over-exaggeration. He was violent.... Then, after letting him stay peaceful, the 60+ year old man actually shouted into my personal bed for me to turn my movie lower... AT THIS POINT THE OTHER GUY WAS SNORING LIKE A MONSTER AND THE YOUNGER MAN HAD ALREADY ASSAULTED ME. My movie was on so quietly I could barely hear it. I endured their abuse for around 10 minutes more (Sat in terror, absolute panic), and then I lost it. I made all the men leave (expect the melanin/black 30-something year old who didn't assault me). Because, if I had witnessed this happen to someone else, another young female, I would have stood up for her. Atrocious.

- Positive: the manager was intuitive and receptive to my genuine state of fear and distress and asked the 20 and 60 year old to leave the dorm. But seriously: my experience was like having abusive dad and anti-social younger brother with unresolved aggression problems scream at you, after holding space for them to get some rest for hours....

+ The location to Thamel is good. It located in the quieter side of Thamel. Staff are lovely! Check in and out was smooth! Staff helped book a taxi.

- It is still very loud from a neighbouring building with music late at night. The air in this area is so heavy. Myself and partner both became unwell. I had to spend two days in bed because of it and just leave for food.. the food in the hotel is not nice. Cold and bland. Poor quality. The rooms are no where near as clean as the pictures. Bathroom was dirty. The floor was disgusting. The bed was awful. Like a brick. Our backs were done for. Hot water is also temperamental.

- 4인 혼성 배드로 예약했는데, 6인 혼성 배드로 배정함 늦은 체크인이고 얼리 체크아웃해야 해서 그냥 넘어감

+ Location is good. Close enough to the main roads, but tucked far enough away to still be in a quiet area. The dry Thai massage was fantastic!!

- The 4 bed dorm was very small and cramped. My top bunk squeaked like crazy anytime I moved or rolled to my side. Unbelievably loud bed.
