Stay Malate (former Wanderers Guest House)

I didn't feel really safe. Manilla is a dangerous city and the door don't luck. We have no keys

Habitación en muy malas condiciones. Baño oxidado por todos los lados y con dos cucarachas enormes. Habitación completamente interior con aire acondicionado que se llevaron el mando y no se podia graduar la temperatura. Todo el hotel desprende una sensacion de abandono espectacular.

Very cold and dark atmosphere, the rooftop is chilled but only older men. The area is a bit shady, but wouldnt say, that i was scared. Cant recommend :/

Paid for 2 nights, I left after 6 hours. Bathroom was disgusting and nothing worked. Malate is a super sketchy location. Fan was stuck and barely worked. Room lock felt unreliable. Take your money and stay somewhere 4x as good for the same price.

Was a good cheap place to spend one night before a flight, not sure I would want to stay here longer.

The overall vibe was not it. Didn’t feel secure. Clean linen but dirty rooms. Walls were filthy Staff tried to charge me twice.

I booked this hotel because it was nearby where I needed to go, it's pretty ghetto tbh but it's okay if you need a place to just sleep.

Nice hostel for the price. Private room as no windows. But showers are nice. Nice rooftop bar. Not far from few restaurants and shops.

This hostel was fine for the price. Rooftop bar was lovely, and drinks were cheap. The bedroom was very small, but the bedsheets felt clean and we did have a small balcony. Shared bathroom by our room was clean but there was no soap. Bathroom at the bar smelt of urine and floor and toilet were dirty. Overall, needs a serious revamp but was sufficient for one nights stay. Not really for backpackers, more a local stay.

Perfect stay

Good location, nice staff, clean room. Very good prices. Theres a roof top bar you can get food or drinks at, not required though to spend your time there. There were some weird people when I was there but I didn’t feel uncomfortable. Close to the beach and to famous places like Rizal park or intramuros. Would defo stay again!

If you're looking for an affordable stay overnight in Malate. This place is for you. The room and linens smell great and clean. The communal bathroom is well taken care of. Don't expect too much in the facilities but you will love the area and the room they give you. it's not spacious but it does its job given that you're paying less than $20 to have your own solo private fan or ac room.

Nice stay in Malate, with a nice roof top bar to meet people! rooms are clean, air cons are functionning good! the area is safe even at night! right in the middle of many good Korean and japanese restaurants! hostel workers and the owner are very helpful and give so many tips for your travel.... thank you

Très bien situé à malate en plein coeur de Manille .immense grande surface ROBINSON à 200m.c est le terminus du bus de l aéroport.metro LRT à proximité . Bon accueil au desk au 4me étage.chambre un peu monacale avec fan,mais très bon marché.toilettes et wc qui auraient besoin d' un bon coup de peinture,mais qui font le taf avec eau chaude et pression suffisante.terrasse géniale avec bar et animation le soir,on peut aussi y manger et prendre le petit dej le matin.menage ok.super adress...

Good for the price

Perfect place to be. Amazing owner and staff, who helps you with everything! Nice rooftop bar/restaurant, where you also can buy breakfast. Great location: restaurants (recommend Sylvias), Robinsons Mall (shops, pharmacies, SIM-cards, barbers, etc.) and bars around and close to all important spots in Manila. All in all the place to be if you want to start or end your trip at the Philippines.

Awesome place. The dorm is a bit tight, but it's economical. Privates are reasonable. I saw reviews complaining about Malate, but it is preferable to me to Makati, Pasay, Paranaque and other areas I've stayed in or visited. Lively without huge skyscrapers and close to Intramuros, the ocean and useful amenities.

Tiny cramped room with an ant infestation. A bit of a dodgy area at night. No AC until you pay extra. Bathrooms very grubby Staff were amazing though, bar on the roof with a free shot every night. Met some cool people. Shame about the facilities

One toilet for 12 rooms including dome! Shower, toilet not clean for 3 days the bar toilet has bad urine smell and stain! Very friendly staff and owner! The tap in the sink does not work one sink for the whole floor which is about 10 to 15 rooms

Staff were lovely and let me check in early as the room was ready which was great! Place is decent for the price, bar/restaurant area is nice to sit and chill and other amenities are reasonable. There were a lot of older male guests, not a problem just something to note if you’re a young solo traveller.
