HI Banff Alpine Centre

Great location and very friendly staff however uncomfortable beds and worst of all bed bugs. All three of us have been itchy with bite marks everywhere. Though it's a convenient location with relatively cheaper prices, I wouldn't recommend staying in this hostel as I find it's not as clean as other Hi Canada hostels.

A bunch of staff where not suited for the job, where completely rude, and even made up gossip about me that got me kicked out of the hostel.. the assistant manager was super un professional at there job, he had pulled me aside multiple times falsely accusing me of many ridiculous things, and when asked to explain what I had done wrong he refused to elaborate and said he didn't need to explain to me why I was getting kicked out, and that there was no proof.. I have never been treated so rudely by any one in my life. The beds where full of bed bugs!! I got eaten alive, and I am still itchy.

I stayed here for 1 night and below is my horrible experience - theres a heat warning going on and there is no A/C and the lady at reception says there are no A/C In Banff region which I find ridiculous. They provided an oscillating fan and people who sleep on the top bunk like me, end up sweating all night. - I requested for an extra pillow for my back support and the pillow was basically opposite of fluffy.. and lady at reception provided me a towel to stuff it inside the pillow cover. - super low shower pressure in bathrooms, to complete the entire process of shower it takes around 30 minutes because the shower heads are rusty and there is no water pressure. - finally, something bit me like an insect bite when I was sleeping, could be bed bug or something, I stay in room 208 in the month of Aug 2023. I have stayed in other hostels of HI Canada but this was by far the worst experience.

One of the worst decision i made to stay here! 1 Room 2 single bed bunker for 157$ a night Lots of bed bugs bad smell conjusted room 1 table extra hot. Highly not recommend! I haven't slept an hour only trying to be save from bugs. Last but not least worst bedding. stains on bedsheets and smelly comforter and again bugs in the pillow and found hairs in the bed!
