Bappa's Place

L’auberge est plutôt bien placée et est propre. Les lits sont confortables et il y a la climatisation. Cependant il n’y a pas vraiment d’ambiance, ni d’organisation d’activités par l’auberge. Le personnel est très peu présent et ne parle pas vraiment anglais. Je vous déconseille fortement d’y faire une lessive, ils ont totalement détruit mon linge, tout sec et la moitié des vêtements est revenu rempli de tâches de lessives.

Very nice, modern clean hostel. Great facilities and some of the most comfortable hostel beds you’ll sleep in. Clean towels and linen provided. Within 5 mins walk of beach & local restaurants. A little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. Not a social hostel. If you just want a comfortable place to sleep while you surf during the day then this is perfect. If you’re more focused on finding friends to go out with then I wouldn’t recommend.

I’m trying to give a review like a German or Dutch person so bare with the bluntness. Nothing special about this place. It was ok because it’s just somewhere to sleep. Not so social. Top bunk is a nightmare to climb so good luck. Staff were helpful with laundry and extra blanket. The rooms were FREEZING at night because people wanted to feel like a polar bear in the night. Beds and dorms were really nice. Good kitchen in use. But, the hostel wasn’t social at all. It is good choice if you are travelling with friends.

The beds were very nice, but not very social, the kitchen could have been great but lacked basic equipment (like knifes that actually cut 😅). Nicely located though

We loved the kitchen, the spacious beds, and the great location. However, it's not the most social hostel, as they don’t offer any activities to help travelers connect. Additionally, the dorm door is extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep if people come and go throughout the night. oh and we found it too expensive for what it offers

lovely hostel but not worth the money, beds were really comfy with shelves and plugs and showers/bathrooms were nice and clean and they provided free water!

I liked the stable beds and the location is good. But the bathrooms aren't really clean although I've seen people cleaning them. Also the dorms were stinky. When I asked if I could place my backpack somewhere safe after having checked out theyoffered me the reception and claimed it was safe and that there would always be someone having a look at the bags. When I got back there was nobody at the reception and the whole area (completely open to the street and people passing it) was empty.

Alright place. Not much of a social atmosphere. The electricity in our room kept dropping so at night the AC would not work anymore. Mentioned this multiple times to the staff but they could not fix it. Because of this your phone does not charge as well so you start the day with a dead battery.

Had a great time here. Good value for money. Right by the beach and lots of food spots. Staff were very friendly and the place was really clean. Wasn’t that social of a hostel, but this didn’t bother us as we were in a group. Room looks a little different to pictures as they now have curtains on the bottom bunks, top still just have mosquito nets. I’d recommend and would stay again if in the area

super comfy, big beds with lots of storage and felt very private on the bottom bunk with the curtains. spacious, clean toilets and showers. not too social.

Amazing place to stay. Close to the beach and very well maintained

LOVE this hostel!!! a 5 minute walk from the beach, surrounded by local restaurants and cafes. only a 5 min walk to the center. not really a social hostel, more chilled vibes

Really good hostel, massive beds with a real mattress!!! Rooms are good and have working aircon!! Staff were helpful but not always around. I’d definitely stay again if I was in the area

Pleasantly surprised by the value for money at Bappa’s Place! For one of the more well-priced hostels in Hiriketiya, you get big comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen with a great coffee machine, and ideal location. There were no activities while we were there but we appreciated the chill atmosphere and lack of overbearing staff :)

Really nice beds, the bedding had some weird stains on though. Nice outside showers and plenty of toilets. Lots of storage with a small locker for valuables and space under the bed for luggage. WiFi was basically non existent though! Free water refills was great and location so good

The hostel is well located, close to the beach and the center. It was clean and the staff was very kind. The dorm (10 beds) had 3 showers and 4 toilets, which was convenient. However, I think it’s quite expensive for what it is, especially compared to other hostels nearby. Also, only the lower beds have curtains, which is a bit disappointing.

I loved Bappa’s! Such good value The staff are so kind and would do anything to help when you ask but aren’t overbearing or in your face It’s super close to beach. Big almost double mattresses. Bottom bunks have curtains. Showers have shampoo and conditioner in If you are coming solo and don’t have a group I’d say it’s maybe not the most social just to be aware of as no organised activities but if you get the right people it’s super fun

Der Raum war sauber und es gab genügend Platz für Gepäck unter den Betten. Die Betten sind riesig. Leider keine Vorhänge an den oberen Betten, was sehr schade ist, da die unteren welche haben. Auch wegen der Klimaanlage sehr ungünstig. Die Badezimmer waren auch recht sauber. Es ist kein Social hostel, also eher etwas, wenn man seine Ruhe möchte und Hiriketiya erkunden. Es waren alle wichtigen Spots fußläufig zu erreichen.

Super clean, bottom bunks have curtains, showers are decent, super close to the beach. Pretty good 👍

Lovely Place. Nice Social areas, kitchen and the dorms are big. Maybe it’s Not the Most Social Hostel, but it depends on the people I guess. It war really really clean.

I liked this hostel a lot, I'd be happy to stay here again. The rooms and bathrooms were nice and well designed. The air con was powerful and there were ceiling fans too. Fantastic location very near to the beach and pretty near to town. Could do with scheduled activities or meet ups in the hostel to improve it's social facilitating angle. I'm travelling solo, but pairs will be fine here. Monkeys very common here. Lumina next door is cheap and excellent food upstairs, went every day!
