Isla Vela

overall the property was nice, but they overcharged with around 70 soles, tho we tried to explain why it was an overcharged, they said we were wrong. then they overbookede the place, and placed us in we think one of their mothers house 4,3 km away from the city in a gated community. From the other travelers who lived there, it seems to be a common occurrence. But the place was clean and felt safe.

There was never anybody at the reception. There is only a bell to ring in hopes that somebody shows up. This also means that everybody staying here has to hear the bell at all time times of the day, including early mornings. Renting bikes or storing luggage is difficult like this. The check-in was confusing too. There was no hot water in the shower and both towels had orange stains on them. Would have complained if anybody was around. We booked a room with breakfast, but there is no breakfast!

The hotel is quiet if that's what you're looking for. I was happy with it but then I saw another place by the beach and wished I could have stayed there instead! The breakfast is simple: bread and jam plus coffee or tea--much to be desired. It's an Ok stay overall.

Greeted by a friendly man who showed us to our room. Location was good, very walkable to the main square and the area was quite. The room was basic and clean, however there was no window and there were a very large number of ants. Staff came and sprayed the ants immediately however they sadly just continued to return.

We had a lovely stay as Isla Vela, the people who worked there were super helpful and the beds were comfy and everything was clean, also a pretty well equipped kitchen. It was nice and quiet at night.

Big family vibe hostel. Loved the people and the breakfast was great. They work hard to maintain it. Right next to a corner store/ gas station. Great location and worth staying at. Great sunset rooftop. Kitchen is great.
