Ashavana Nest Hostel

Le doy una estrella ya que no se puede menos, no se ni como describir mi expereciencia en este hostel, simplemente horrorosa. Suelo alojarme en este tipo de lugares pero nunca me habia encontrado con una terraza llena de borrachos que no dejan descansar o incluso gente consumiendo drogas. A los propietarios parece que no les importa ya que ellos no tienen que dormir ahi. Todo esto sin mencionar las chinches que habia en los colchones. Un saludo.

Este hostel es lo más asqueroso que he visto en mi vida. La cama estaba infestada de chinches que me acribillaron toda la noche, y las cucarachas corrían por las paredes y dentro de mis cosas como si fueran las dueñas del lugar. ​Para rematar, la comida es incomible: me encontré varios pelos mezclados en el plato. Es una falta de higiene absoluta y un riesgo para la salud. El personal es grosero y el sitio está sucio. ¡Ni se te ocurra quedarte aquí!

PEOPLE OPEN YOUR EYES!!!! RUNAWAY FROM THIS PLACE ASAP!! I’ve stayed here for a night and it was a total mess and totally uncomfortable. For the amount of money you pay it’s both expensive and a total ripoff. From loud music all day long to loud drunk people and people doing drugs literally on the terrace and having bed bugs and cockroaches in your bed. Come on this is a total joke! Also please review the other reviews literally in front of your eyes you have what other tell you, so dont ignore it! This problem has been for years, look at the previous reviews too!! but looks like the owner and the management simply likes music and parties over their costumers, of course they’re not living in the hostel, they are really smart. Lastly when i went to check out there was no one there at the desk and there was literally people standing and waiting so someone would come and do their check out . Total irresponsible!

Bed bugs, drunk loud people, cockroaches right in my bed, not good ventilation or heating in the room!!

Bruit, entassement industriel (lits sur 3 étages, dortoir de 15 personnes)… et punaises de lits !!

Als ich dort zu Gast war, wurde mir ein Bett zugewiesen, in der eine andere Person davor schon geschlafen hatte und gemeldet hat, dass es dort Bettwanzen gibt. Als ich dies dann auch nach meiner ersten Nacht gemeldet hatte, wurde ich in ein anderes Bett verlegt wo es auch Bettwanzen gab. Ich war sehr wütend über die Situation. Es gab zu wenig Badezimmer für so viele Menschen, man musste immer etwa mind. 10 min warten.

Thank you to Ashavana Nest Hostel and especially Jane who was so hospitable when looking for accomodation over Christmas in El Medano, Tenerife. Thanks again for providing an easy to access lower bunk, and mattresses with no bed bugs-Such a comfortable relief. A kitchen for brief cooking, making a coffee and a spacious roof terrace to relax. Love Tenerife for sunshine, natural food 🥑, seafood 🐟 and coastline ! Thanking you.

ok. let's start with the fact that I was supposed to stay for one night, just to sleep. one night turns into 3. the people I met here were amazing. the lady at the reception (sorry, I have a terrible memory for names) is a real angel. when it comes to the standard of the hostel. whoever has stayed there knows. the beds are tight, the rooms are small, the showers are shared. should this bother anyone? no, the hostel is for travelers who want to share their moments with others, share food, have fun together and tell stories. I've read that there are bedbugs in the beds, but I haven't seen anything like that myself, and neither have my friends El Polako Eryk <3

nada mas llegar y entrar en la habitación un señor nos informo que tuviésemos cuidado que le habían robado dinero. que el se iba y le faltaban dos días que ya había pagado pero por el robo que tubo, el no se fiaba y se iba dejándoles dos días ya pagados...., la verdad es que las fotos no coinciden con lo que es realmente..., ponen en las fotos las camas de madera muy bonitas y tal y luego son hay de metal cutres..... que para subir ala del medio o te ves ágil o no subes... la limpieza no es muy buena los cubiertos estaban sucios y en el cajón apareció una cucaracha. las duchas deberían de tener una puerta y no una cortina que se trasparenta todo. pone albergue juvenil y va lo mejorcito de Tenerife, gente que consume sustancias ilegales... y para colmo los dos últimos días tuvimos unas picaduras y una señora que estaba hospedada ahí nos dijo que le habían picado también y que eran chinches las picaduras coinciden con las fotos de internet sobre esos bichos. yo no lo recomiendo para nada lo único bueno que tiene es la ubicación por lo demás un asco por que encima tampoco te cambiaban las sabanas.

Me e decepcionado no es lo que esperaba las camas en las fotos salian que eran de madera y mucho mas bonitas las habitaciones, cuando llegue no tenían nada que ver. La limpieza debería de mejorar mucho ya que encontre cucarachas varias veces y los ultimos dias tuvimos picaduras de lo que decían que eran chinches. Pone que es un albergue juvenil pero mas que jovenes son personas bastante mas mayores, y se nota que hacen uso de sustancias ilegales. La cocina estaba bien y los baños pero las duchas no tienen puerta para candar solo cortinas lo que no me gustó nada, no hay privacidad. Lo único que es bueno es la ubicación que esta al lado de la playa pero me decepciono mucho.

Nada más llegar me encontré las sábanas sucias y una chinche viva encima de la cama. No se como se permite tener abierto un lugar con restos de sangre de otras chinches y falta de higiene. Lo peor es que no pudieron darme ninguna solución y tuve que irme a otro hostel y para rematar me prometieron hacer una devolución de mi estancia y se están haciendo pos locos con tal de no devolvérmela. No voy a pagar 1€ que no he disfrutado y encima me perjudicó el viaje. Espero que se me haga la devolución cuando veáis esta reseña. Si no, no dudaré en llevar hasta el final el asunto con todas las consecuencias.

1.Bed Bugs !!! I got bitten so so bad. Unfornately i didnt check the bad comments here , otherwise I would have known that the Bed Bugs exist there since last year!! Damn thats so irresponsible to let people still get in these beds and get bitten with incredible pain. They will just change your bed, its still in the same room and I still got bitten! And someone new gets into the beds with bed bugs! Just close the room and let it be treated professionally and then people are happy and safe there. 2. Not many bathrooms for that many people. 3. In the beginning you don’t know who the staff is. Check in is with the code and it might be that you don’t see any staff. We then wanted to cook something in the kitchen and didn’t understand how it works. So we when to the front desk and asked the person who was sitting behind the work computer there how it works. Access for everyone but we didn’t think that far. Turns out he was a creep and he even put his finger into our food and he came back so often and couldn’t help us at all. he was a total psychopath and that scared us. It would be nice it they would wear something where you could notice if its a staff or a guest.

The people staying in the hostel were great, but we had a terrible experience with the hostel. At night, we were bitten by bedbugs, which the owner knows very well. We had to look for new accommodation and the owner ignores us, does not want to return the money even though we left immediately after 2 nights. The receptionist deceived us and still we have to deal with the return of our money. They keep arguing about the booking and continue to accommodate people even though they know about the bedbugs. As soon as we left the hostel in our beds where there were bedbugs, they accommodated other people.

My stay was unfortunately ruined by bed bugs. So I left a day early, and I was not offered any compensation nor support. It was clearly a known problem as looking back at reviews I see that it was established they were in that room (the first on the right as you enter). I totally recognise the problem can happen abruptly but I am quite sure they just weren't eradicated properly. I even saw them. And when I mentioned it I was told the last complaint was 4 months ago, which was clearly a lie as a reviewer mentioned they were there the previous month. If I had been offered compensation for the last night I wouldn't review it like this. I get the impression they know it's there and just accept they can't do much about it.

L’hostel était infesté de punaises de lit ( = BUG BED ), des gens dormaient par terre dans la salle de cuisine ! Seulement 2 douches pour tout l’hostel ! J’ai du dormir mes 2 dernières nuits dans ma voiture dès que j’ai vu les punaises de lit ( BUG BED) ! J’ai demandé un geste commercial auprès du gérant. Sa réponse a été très rapide : désolé mais je peux rien faire ! J’ai déjà fait des hostels mais jamais comme ça ! Je n’avais pas lu les commentaires précédents : d’autres dénoncent aussi les punaises de lit ( BUG BED)

The small note is for bed bugs. no accommodation unit can receive tourists in these conditions. I stayed in the room with 10 beds, although when I booked I chose the room with 8 beds. The spring mattress is quite comfortable. Bedding relatively clean, but with blood stains from bed bugs Bed bugs are the biggest problem. The room is not well ventilated and you can feel the humidity because of that and the problem with bed bugs that have a very good environment for them. There are only 2 bathrooms, each equipped with a toilet and a shower. If the hostel is full, you can wait quite a long time in line. If you want to store your personal things, you don't have a special place for it. Only next to the bed and under the bed.However, you can rent a small closet for 2 euros per day.

Horrible experience in this hostel. I arrived in a room where they have bed bugs, but more than that they put hardcore chemical treatment all over the room that burned my skin (the white powder in the fotos). My body is full bugs bites and burns, my hands are swallowed. The hostel refused to refund me and offered me another room. Of course I left. The worst part is that I came back yesterday to speak with the owners (they weren't here) and I saw on the internet that they have rented it again in the exact same conditions, without taking any action, with the bugs and the chemical product. They are harming people and obviously they don't care. Apparently the same issue happened to another person last week. This is highly irresponsible, and not professional. These people shouldn't have a licence to rent rooms. They haven't bothered to answer my messages, and eventually apologize, instead they preferred protecting their business and said to other guests I was lying, and blocked me... Also Booking.com didn't take this seriously . When I called them to explain the situation, they apologized about the situation but didn't take any action. They haven't removed the room from their website and continued renting it, knowing it was contaminated! What a disgrace from this company. In compensation they offered me 20% discount on the overall booking, and refused to refund the last night I was supposed to spend in this horrible place. What a disgrace.

Reservé para pasar el fin de semana. Antes de llegar me preguntaron por mensaje si tendría algún problema en que pasaran la vaporeta a mi equipaje, por la reciente plaga de chinches. Cuando llegué al hostel, ya de noche, le pregunté con sinceridad a la recepcionista si lo hacían por prevención o porque ya habían tenido algún caso. Me comentó que tuvieron un caso en verano, pero entendí que lo tenían controlado. Teniendo en cuenta lo tarde que era y lo cansada que estaba, decidí confiar y quedarme, pues no había visto nada tras inspeccionar minuciosamente la cama. Aún así no me quedé tranquila y no pude dormirme. Cerca de las 3h de la madrugada y aún despierta, sentí como algo me cayó en la cara de la litera de arriba. Era una chinche. Le mandé una foto a la recepcionista, con la suerte de que estaba despierta y me contestó. Automáticamente me dio las claves para pasarme a otra habitación, pero cuando entré estaban todas las camas ocupadas. No le escribí más y me quedé en el hall, barajando opciones. Pensé en quedarme durmiendo en las sillas pero eran de tela, con la paranoia empecé a inspeccionarlas y en el respaldo de una de ellas encontré dos chinches más. Para entonces me picaba todo y terminé yéndome a dormir al coche que había alquilado. En ese momento tomé la decisión de irme por la mañana, aunque eso implicara perder la reserva. Fui a desayunar y hablé con la recepcionista por WhatsApp. Le conté lo sucedido y le pedí usar la vaporeta para pasarla a mis pertenencias e irme. Encontré una lavandería a dos calles del hostel donde pude lavar todo lo que traía. No reclamé ni esperaba que me fueran a devolver nada. Aún así lo gestionaron inmediatamente con Booking y me reembolsaron las dos noches íntegras, lo cual agradecí mucho. Entiendo la complejidad del asunto y lo difícil que es erradicar a las chinches, pero me parece una irresponsabilidad mantener el hostel abierto, sabiendo que tienen una plaga y que entra en juego la salud de todos.

I stayed here last winter many times and it was 10 hostel. The situation is totally different now for the bedbugs in a couple of dormitories that they have tried to destroy since July with a bad luck but the new try is going on. Hopefully it will be succesfull. 🙏 The customer service in this situation has been bad ..some customers were refunded and some not and the owner doesn't accept any feedback, "my business suffers from this" is his mantra. But it also suffers for the arrogant customer service.
