Gothenburg Hostel

Very strange hostel, the vibe feels more like a hospice. You’ll get in trouble coming in, for you need one of the three codes they’ll send you, which is confusing. Furthermore, clean hostel, but they’ll charge you for anything they can think of. Location isn’t great either, but with trams you’ll manage.

My flight was delayed so I was unable to check in before 4pm, which is very early to close the front desk. I was told I would get an email or a text with a code to get in the door. I did not. I had no way to get into the hostel that I had already paid for. Luckily, someone staying there let me use their phone so I could call the “emergency line” and get the codes I needed to get in. When I told the front desk staff this in the morning they didn’t care at all and didn’t offer any explanat...

Overall a good hostel, but I thought it was very expensive compared with others and quite far from the city which was a bit inconvenient

If you are a young traveler, its not for you. There are mainly families and older people. The showers have a good size but only one small place to put things. In the toilet they have really bad paper. They service was very nice tho. They have no air conditioning, only small ventilators. So when its warm outside you will sweat at night. I think price is a bit too much for the dorm of eight.

The hostel had all things necessary for a short stay. Close to a tram stop. There was an issue with the booking, and the staff did their best to accommodate my needs (thank you!). The space was clean. Would be nice if all bunks, and especially the ones in mixed rooms, had individual curtains and sockets + some proper ventilation. Bed linen isn't included, so keep that in mind (another aspect I don't quite get). If you're an undemanding traveller, this might just be the perfect place.

Great hostel, so clean and quiet. Beds were super comfortable and the staff couldn't do more to help. My only issue is the price but we did attend on a weekend with a big concert on!

Location was kind of far from city center, and there was no atmosphere. There was a school trip when I was there, and the majority of guests were ten year olds. The mattresses were extremely hard. Showers were abundant, however, and had great water pressure. The kitchen was also very nice, clean, and well equipped. Not having 24 hour reception is something I have never seen at a hostel before.

This hostel wasn’t bad, it was in a convenient location which was nice. You needed a code to get into the building after hours which made it feel secure. I booked an all female room however and a guy slept in the dorm one night. That was odd I thought. Also the door from our room into the hallway was a little hard to close, so two people in my dorm just left it open sometimes by accident… that part did not feel very safe.

Les draps et la serviette sont inclus dans le prix (il était écrit le contraire sur Hostelworld). Les douches et sanitaires sont suffisamment nombreuses et très propres. On s'y sent en sécurité.

The staff were great and really helpful. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hostel - huge range of things available (including a waffle station!) and well worth the money. The dorm room was comfortable and clean with curtains on the beds and good sized lockers. My dorm room door wasn’t locking, but I spoke to the staff and she said she would get the handyman to look at it, and it seemed to be fine after that, just needed pulling hard and not left to soft close.

Superbe auberge, un peu excentrée mais proche du métro. On est en 15 minutes dans le centre ville. Cuisine hyper complète et propre, douches et toilettes partagées mais très propres également. Le personnel a été adorable.

gutes Hostel, mit guter Küche, Frühstück, einem kleinen Kühlschrank aber genauso einem kleinen Spind, Mit Zimmerkarte einchecken ist etwas doof (Pin wäre besser). Gut, dass die Betten Vorhänge hatten

Auberge tres chouette, avec des sanitaires et une cuisine propres. Les lits avec rideaux sont confortables et offrent une certaine intimité. Néanmoins l'auberge est très excentrée : à avoir en tête si vous comptez beaucoup bouger dans Goteborg.

Idéal pour découvrir Göteborg. Dommage que le temps soit autant pluvieux…

Not in the center but near to tram station. The room for 4 ppl is perfect, big enough. Kitchen and common area was so good, there was all kitchen equipment, free coffee and tea, free basic cooking materials like rice, flour, sugar was free to use. Showers and toilets were clean with new appliances. A quiet and family friendly hostel. Definitely recommend to stay there! Loved it. Thank you

very nice place to stay near the city centre with public transportation nearby. I have been impressed by the quality of the mattress and sound proofing.

You have more privacy than expected. The common kitchen is quite big and you have a lot of space. It’s just really far away from the central station. So ever take the public transportation or plan at least 40 minutes to get there.

Simple, quiet, clean hostel that met all my needs. As a solo traveller I felt safe at the hostel and in its neighborhood. Conveniently located between two tram stops, both of which are within easy walking distance. Super friendly, helpful staff members. Breakfast was good but a bit overpriced. There is a kitchen and dining area for travellers who prefer to make their own breakfast and meals (the stove no longer heats after 10:00 p.m.) There are stairs to climb to enter the hostel.

Beds were comfortable, the restrooms and showers were clean. So was the kitchen. In total the hostel was not really social. Except the common area there was not really interaction with other guests. I had a good stay, but if you want to meet other travellers, then maybe this is not your first choice.

Perfect place to stay while in the city. A few school trips were staying at the same time as us so there was some running about the corridors late at night but that wasn't a massive issue. You're about a 30 minute walk from the centre of the city which again didn't bother us too much but is something to bear in mind. There are trams to easily fix this anyway.

Has everything that I need, very helping and friendly staff and good sanitary installations.

Very clean!! Comfy beds, nice kitchen, family friendly (there were also a lot of kids, we were there as a couple). Got a room update for free. We liked it! But you have to walk 20-30 minutes to the city center. Tram is 2 minutes away 👍
