When they showed me the room, it turned out that the "upgrade" simply meant they had installed an AC into both of their cheapest downstairs rooms (number 1 and 2) a while ago. But hey, I'm not complaining. I was given room number 2 which was a bit damp and dark but not bad, considering the price. Shortly after moving in, I noticed a strong sweet smell, like a fruit almost gone bad but not quite. Hate to say it, but it was the typical smell of a HUGE bedbug infestation. So strong that I asked to change the room half an hour after I'd moved in. I was offered room 1 which I took because it didn't smell. Again, a bit damp, but no smell. Went to town for some food and shopping. When I came back, suddenly the smell started there too and became really strong. Apparently all the bedbugs were producing pheromones in anticipation of a tasty meal. I packed all my stuff in ten minutes record time and booked a bed in a nearby hostel even though it was already 22:30 in the night. I had to treat the shock with three large beers to be able to sleep. Dear owners, if you're reading this YOU NEED TO BURN EVERYTHING IN ROOM 1 AND 2 and call an exterminator ASAP.
