Gold Coast Hostel

This was the absolute worst place we stayed during our 6 weeks in Türkiye. We were bitten by bed bugs on our last night! When we arrived, one of the guys who worked there (Fatih) very loudly informed us that this was a party hostel and made us feel very unwelcome since we were tired and looking forward to sleeping. We considered canceling right at that moment, but the cancellation policy on Hostelworld would have charged us for the full stay because it was the day of the booking. We stayed in a private room which was dirty (there was even a random shoe under our bed), we woke up with numerous bug bites that were likely from bed bugs, the internet didn’t reach our room, the shower head attachment was broken. Even though the internet said this was a quiet hostel great for remote workers - it is not at all, especially on pub crawl nights. We stayed at another hostel in the area the night before that was cheaper, more comfortable, cleaner, and had way nicer amenities.

BED BUGS! The first night we got there, we lay down for less than an hour and our backs were completely bitten by bed bugs. We told them, and they moved us to another room, insisting they didn’t have bed bugs — but they do. After they moved us, we saw them trying to clean, and we didn’t get bitten again. Even though it has a nice rooftop, the bed bugs are an absolute nightmare.

Me and another girl (in separate rooms and coming from different places) both got bedbugs here. The bathrooms also perpetually smell like sewer. I hate leaving bad reviews especially since the staff is fairly nice but this was my honest experience

I got a terrible case of bed bugs here. The worst experience I have ever had. The toilets were not clean and I opened it to an entire bowl of feces. And some of the staff was rude.

This is a very terrible hostel the cleaning lady is so mean to guests and volunteers and they are using volunteers for hard work and kicking them out whenever they want , Also it contains bed bugs , I had a terrible experience with them even my friend girlfriend got beaten by bed bugs and they didn’t pay her back or even pay her medication

This may be the worst experience I have ever encountered in my life and I have experienced a lot. our room looked nothing like the photos, we had no comforter, the bathroom smelled awful, the window was clearly painted over. VARIOUS bugs came into the room. On the off chance that the door closes, (in most cases they don’t), we are able to hear absolutely everything (including another person in an adjacent room complaining about bugs) happening outside and inside the building. Maybe the only good thing about this hostel is the terrace. My friend and I woke up with bug bites (unexplained). The bathroom smell was so bad that it was impossible to go in there without gagging. When we asked them for a refund for the remaining days, they said they could only refund half. They are cash only and probably the reason why is because anyone with a card would file a dispute because this place is nothing like the photos. They gave us 1 days worth back, which is 40 Euros when we had paid 50 euros and said Hostelworld takes the other 10 euros, which doesn’t sound remotely believable. Anyways please come at your own risk
