Casi Casa

Casi casa is really nice and pretty, the rooftop is beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms are clean, but DO NOT DRINK THE FILTERED WATER!! I came down with a nasty stomach bug my second night here after drinking the filtered water straight from the communal jug, and ended up having to be hospitalized (turned out to be typhoid fever and a parasitic infection). Wouldn’t necessarily tie it to the water at Casi Casa, but there have been two other reviews of guests here who came down with food poi...

The guy who seems to be running the hostel (works reception during the day) is rude. Everytime we had a question, it seems we were bothering him. He is always on the computer and barely makes eye contact with us. He basically asks you to wait until he is finished with his computer task before you can talk to him. He points to the documentation when we asked for information regarding shuttles and such... On the other hand, the guy working the night shifts was very kind and helpful.

Great hostel. A bit overpriced just for sleeping, but great if you use the facilities they offer!!!

I honestly think this hostel is overrated, especially for the price; maybe if you have a private room but I didn’t like the girls dorm - It was cramped for 6 people, with no room for you to get your things out and loud lockers and curtains. The male staff came in as late as 11:30 at night and cleaners left the dorm door wide open for half the day. The rooms were also extremely hot with no fan, they blasted music by the pool every day and all the staff looked like they didn’t want to be there...

The hostel itself is beautiful. Sadly there were bed bugs in my bed and I got bitten quite badly the night before hiking acatenango (not their fault, it happens). However it was obviously uncomfortable and stressful for me, and the staff didn’t do anything to help me or do anything to make me feel more comfortable

The man who I assume was the front of house, he was the main receptionist, had a weird vibe. Always seemed like he was annoyed at us, never showed us around or gave us any info on arriving (ie what time breakfast was at, hours we could use sauna, where kitchen was etc) Apart from that the place was nice, nice pool comfy beds

Staff was lovely and the place is very beautiful. The Sauna is only open for 2 hours in the afternoon unless you want to pay extra for them to open it for you.

The beds here are so comfy!! And the breakfast is also great. Unfortunately when I was there it was pretty quiet so not really social, but had one night where we all cooked together which was nice

They don’t give you a top sheet just a really heavy comforter and they don’t have a fan so it got really hot

Wirklich das schönste Hostel, in dem ich je war mit leckeren Speisen und Housekeeping Service. Würde sofort wiederkommen!

Very good hostel with a lot of space to relax! Also, the included breakfast is really nice.

I loved everything about this place except that the shower didn't work. 😬🥺 Beautiful ambience, very nice reception, wonderful roommates, AND a to-go breakfast because I had to leave at 5:30am! I hope they can fix the plumbing issues!

Most beautiful hostel with friendly and helpful staff. I loved the balcony, the breakfast was fantastic. If you like to wake up early, this is the perfect hostel. I met many other solo travelers here. My only issue was lack of water (shower) in the afternoon - which was not great after hiking Acatenango!

This is my favorite hostel I’ve ever stayed at. So relaxing, super comfortable beds. Beautiful grounds with an adorable cat. Great value with the free breakfast and a full kitchen. In a quieter part of town. Not a party hostel at all, but a great stay.

Ich habe hier mehrere Nächte verbracht und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Anlage ist super schön gestaltet und von der Dachterrasse hat man einen direkt Blick auf den Vulkan. Das Einzelzimmer hatte leider kein Fenster und war sehr hellhörig, aber abgesehen davon war alles gut.

Super schönes Hostel mit toller Dachterasse und einem gemütlichen Garten. Die Betten sind super bequem und das Frühstück (ich hatte zweimal die Bananen-Pancakes) sehr sehr lecker! Zum Zentrum läuft man ca. 15 Minuten, bei der Größe der Stadt liegt die Unterkunft leider nicht ganz zentral, aber es ist super ruhig und man bei Sonnenaufgang wunderbar den Vögeln lauschen :-) Das Hostel organisiert auch sehr zuverlässig und für einen guten Preis Shuttes.

Lovely hostel and terrace. Only issue was the water wasn’t working properly when I was there but I’m sure it’s fixed! Lovely cat lives here also

Loved this hostel! They kept it so clean all the time, comfy beds & the blackout curtains were great, and the free breakfast was delicious. The cleaning lady typically comes in the afternoon in case you want to shower before or after. & this is further out than other hostels so typically 15 a minute walk to most things. However it’s a very easy walk and I felt very safe solo. It’s not a very social hostel so a bit tough to connect with others. That said, I would stay here again!

Great stay, would be here again. Booked a bunk bed, bed was very comfortable and so was the linens. Staff kept the place exceptionally clean. Good rooftop view of the volcanoes and city. The pool is small but very nice! Staff are so sweet and kind.

This was my first solo trip and hostel. I would highly recommend this place to others! It’s amazing, perfect location, and yummy breakfast which is a huge plus. Would definitely stay here again.
