Bus Hostel Reykjavik

I had bedbug bites for two consecutive nights. Though they moved me to another room and washed all my clothes and backpack, professional insecticides are needed. Regular cleaning is not enough to kill bedbugs.

Small kitchen, no space at all in the fridges The reception closes early and with that, the common area BED BUGS I found bed bugs in my bed during the night, and the reception was closed so I moved to another bed trying to rest but the bugs were everywhere, in the morning I went to the reception and showed them pictures of the bed bugs; they just changed my sheets and told me that I can't change rooms because was full and offered to SELL me a bite cream (this was before I had any bites, but a friend did buy it). So instead of giving a refund to me and the people in my room to at least go to another hostel, they just let us stay there. The days passed, and people started to have bites all over our bodies. We had asked for a solution, and the only thing that they did was to wash our clothes for free (because we asked). After being covered by bites, they finally moved me to another room (by the way, the room with bed bugs was still in use) and lent me the bite cream (after seeing the bites of my back) at the end I kept the bite cream. Horrible experience, that was just before starting a new job as a waiter, was EXTREMELY embarrassing having to serve food with bites in my hands, face and neck (the bites that were without covered by clothes obviously)

Bedbugs. No extractor on stove. Place needs a toaster.

bad environment，especially hygiene, my partner go bite by bed bugs, the health condition is really concerning!

The beds had bed bugs which the receptionist knew about and had the room sprayed but unfortunately I took some home with me and have had an uncomfortable experience due to them.

If you want to go home with bedbugs and need to put all your stuff away for weeks, maybe months, with a lot of inconveniences when you return home, bad smells, loud noises, and a door that gets slammed in your face every 15 minutes, you should definitely choose this place. It's ugly, noisy, and you return home with bedbugs. The smell is so terrible that it is disgusting and almost impossible to sleep. I wouldn't return there, not even for a million euros. The staff is friendly, but who cares if you go home feeling awful after having some wonderful days in Iceland? Thank you for ruining our return.

Bathrooms are never cleaned, none of them had toilet paper. None of the tables have been wiped for days. A man came in and literally spit on counters and one of the front staff and no one wiped anything down after that. The blankets are never washed, I'd rather use my own sleeping bag. The washing machine works, but the dryer doesn't and there is no where to hang dry clothes. So really, there is no laundry service here. When speaking to front desk staff they are not very friendly, not very helpful. Also, the refrigerators in the kitchen stink, the kitchen is always a mess and super cluttered. Not to mention very small and overcrowded. The beds are pretty comfy. Restaurants and grocery store are quite a bit of a walk away. Good walking shoes is a must for this place or use the scooters. So far the positives are that they have a happy hour where beer is only 750 krona. The major charter buses arrive here. And there are no bed bugs. If you do stay, try somehow to get off the first floor. It's always crazy busy because of all the bus traffic. I won't stay here again unless I was forced.
