Casa Barcelo Hostel

La habitación que nos tocó (detrás de la recepción) no está nada aislada y se escuchaba absolutamente todo, gente entrando y saliendo del hotel, ruidos de los baños, pasos… Pero lo peor fue que había chinches y nos picaron.

La chambre à 8 lits ne peut pas ouvrir les volets, nous sommes dans le noir toute la journée. Ça sent mauvais, nous ne pouvons pas aérer. La clim est soit trop forte soit absente. La cuisine n'est pas équipée de plaques de cuissons, peu de matériel sur place. Les taxes de séjour sont exorbitantes par rapport au prix payé.

The prices and gentrification of this city are absurd. It feels like a tourist playground. This makes accommodation to be extremely expensive. Paying 60 + euros per night for a bunk bed in an ok hostel is just too much, but this is Barcelona. There was a slight smell of vomit in the kitchen/corridor and the rooms were not exactly clean, furniture is bad quality, curtains on the bunk bed do not reach the end of the bed, as I was sleeping in the upper part I could see and be seen by a curtain falling 20cm shorter in height. The doors are made of very cheap material and I suppose with the humidity they 'bloat', making it impossible to close any door without making a lot of noise and pushing super hard. Being in a room close to the bathrooms I would hear any and every toilet flushing and water in the pipes. It would be nice if you could clean the garden ashtrays in the morning. It would give a nicer, breakfast environment. I am so sorry for saying all this, but really it's just too expensive not to mention... :(
