Saigon Chill Hostel

Pros: free breakfast, 1x free beer per day, good location and vibe Cons: the bathrooms are terrible (the shower is literally on top of the toilets which makes the whole bathroom full of water when you take a shower, there were bedbugs on the beds adwe even had a small lizard on the wall of the bathroom when I checked in. the cleanliness and the facilities are not that good

Beware for bedbugs in this hostel! Got bitten all over. Bathroom and room are quite sober, the hostel is really dark, you need a flashlight in the stairway. Free breakfast is good and the personal is really nice.

This place has great staff who are willing to stop whatever they are doing and help you with anything regarding your trip. However I cannot in good conscience recommend this place due to bed bugs. Which caused us to leave quite swiftly.

This hostel is amazing, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is great, and it’s exactly what you want for Ho Chi Minh. So I do 100% recommend it. We were just unlucky as there were bed bugs in our room. This is out of the control of the hostel so we understand, but it did affect our stay there. We went and hot washed and dried all of our stuff straight away to get rid of them. :(

Staff was super lovely but unfortunately there were bedbugs in my room, didn’t end up staying the night.

When we got there they said they had an issue with the room and moved us to another closeby facility. Room was okay but we don't know about cleanness, since we probably got bed bugs there.

Positives: Great location, friendly staff, breakfast and beer for free, affordable price, social hostel Negatives: Bed bugs - covered in bites + showed them a picture. No apology/compensation. Staff brushed it off. Also saw staff resting on unoccupied beds without changing sheets.

Great location, good service and very social which we loved. Our room had bed bugs (found out after arrival) so at 9pm we decided to not stay there in the end as we didn’t trust the cleaning process. Staff was hesitant at first (tried to talk us out of it) but in the end refunded us fully.

When I woke up, my legs felt itchy. I found several blood bed bugs under my sheets.

By far the worst hostel I’ve stayed at during my travels across India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Bed had bedbugs, staff wasn’t bothered about it. They didn’t even offer free laundry as an apologetic gesture. Weren’t bothered enough to help with bus bookings, which was a bit strange considering all other hostels I stayed at in Vietnam were kind enough to help out with buses (since it does get complicated a few times).

The hotel is next to a bar street. It makes the room noisy, on Saturday there was loud music until 4am. The hotel is combined with a cafe on the 1st floor, it can get crowded and sometimes people smoke there. The building looks tired. We stayed in room 401. The room is medium sized, not first fresh. At night we found bed bugs in our bed and 1 cockroach. The room does not feel safe (flimsy door) and cozy. It is not a hotel , it is a motel - based on the accommodations. We booked 2 nights here but because of the conditions and bed bugs we moved out after 1 night.
