La Casa Piola

When I arrived a girl with curly hair at the reception told me they just had an intense cleaning in this room and because of the bad smell they would offer me free laundry or a towel. Other possibility was just a sofa because there was no other bed anymore (and I had reserved in advance!!) .. When I asked if this cleaning was because of bed bugs, she told me no. So I believed her - apparently she really didn't know, so this would go back to bad communication from the boss - and checked-in. Later in the night when I realised this smell is going to stay that bad that I will get a headache and I'm not sure how healthy this will be for me, we figured out with another girl in the room that this must has to do with bed bugs. We later even got this information confirmed. So they had 2 days ago (!!!) a big bed bugs problem in there, just cleaned it with some insecticide (?) - the question is if the eggs are still alive - and they would still take reservations?!!! That's absolutely unbelievable! So in the night in Valparaiso it wasn't easy at all to just find another hostel, the good prices from the morning had vanished and we didn't want to go that far with our luggage. So we had to take a hostel nearby, which was more expensive. If I would have been told this earlier, I would have had all the options as it was still in the afternoon, when I arrived. We tried to at least get some compensation, but the boss wouldn't even give us more than 5€ (which is a bad joke regarding the inconvenience we got from all this), pay us an Uber or at least the breakfast they offered. Later in the night some other two guests from this hostel arrived at our new place, as hostel Piola also had taken their reservations without any place for them to stay.

Quiero expresar mi más sincera preocupación por el estado de los voluntarios que trabajan en la casa piola , ubicada en la calle san juan de Dios, Valparaíso. Ese es el problema más grave en conjunto a las condiciones sanitarias del lugar, hay una plaga de chinches yo fui picada de una forma terrible y soy alérgica, tuve que ir al hospital allí mismo en Valparaíso pero no pude atenderme de urgencia porque me cobraran 50 mil pesos la atención y el hostal, claramente, no se haría cargo de nada. Los chicos trabajan mas de lo pactado, les dan poca comida ( pasan hambre) , a mi el dueño Frances llamado Jules, me ofreció solamente quedarme una noche mas y me dio 13 dólares (lo cual le molestó), yo me hice cercana de dos chicos que trabajan allí por la condición en la que están y trato de ayudarlos en lo que sea necesario, yo soy psicóloga y funcionaria del estado. La practica habitual de ellos es borrar a las personas de la plataforma para que no dejen malas reseñas, conmigo lo hicieron por lo mismo estoy dejando este comentario aquí. Yo tengo abogados así que ya me asesoré y pondré las respectivas denuncias en SERNAC E INSPECCION DEL TRABAJO. Es un daño terrible al turismo y a la imagen de Valparaíso, ciudad que por cierto es patrimonio cultural y hay personas de todo el mundo. En este Hostal no he sido solo yo quien ha estado en peligro su salud por la situación de los "chinches" , han sido muchas personas, lamentablemente no tienen las herramientas para denunciar. Hay maltrato laboral, exposición de la salud grave, no hay resolución de conflictos, el dueño del lugar no responde a los requerimientos solo lee y hasta el sol de hoy , no hace nada al respecto, le he dicho que cuando hay chinches hay que botar todo y fumigar, las camas están sucias mal hechas y llenas de bichos. Espero que puedan hacer al respecto, ya que afecta directamente a la aplicación booking también por ofrecer de manera espectacular este lugar que solo es fachada de esclavitud disfrazada de voluntariado.

Suite à la suppression de mon commentaire (puisqu'il devait être trop dérangeant), je me permet de le reposter : "Photos qui pourraient paraître attrayantes mais qui ne reflètent pas l'état réel de l'hostel. Entre les douches cassées (poire, vitres qui vous tombent dessus...), les toilettes qui fuient ; sans compter, cerise sur le gâteau quelques boutons que nous pensions être de simples moustiques mais qui sont en fait des punaises de lit !!! Malgré nos avertissements au propriétaire, celui-ci n'a daigné nous répondre. Un manque de savoir être tout à fait remarquable. Tout simplement à fuir."

L'endroit est OK, mais le patron manque terriblement de savoir vivre, manque d'entretien, salle de bains a refaire tout se casse la gueule, la cuisine il a racheter des ustensiles âpres ma brûlure (le minimum). Un petit plus présence de punaises de lit lors de notre séjour.
