Happinest - The Backpacker's Hostel

stayed here for one night and was quite disappointed. The property looks outdated and lacks proper maintenance. The dorm rooms are extremely small, with no natural light and no privacy curtains.The washrooms were not up to the mark — low water pressure in the jet spray, no toilet paper, and no proper shelves for toiletries.Overall, the place needs renovation and better upkeep. Not sure how it has such high ratings.

The place has a weird layout and is far from social with most of the staff sitting and watching tv in the only communal area and sleeping there at night. The place was not clean and had cockroaches running about. Some staff where friendly but others stared at me like a freak and where not helpful at all.

Worst hostel ever I stayed, owner of the hostel has big time problems with people who is educated and mature people. Will never recommend this hostel

The staff must really hate his job and takes his anger out on everyone. Staff keeps yelling at guests about cleaning. He comes across as rude and micromanaging the guests. There's a difference between being firm in your rules and having outburst of anger. Wifi is slow, doesn't extend to dorms. Only Hindi is spoken and there are few foreigners. Cleanliness - rats everywhere. Hostel is dirty, rude owner, uncomfortable, and it's way too crowded. Not recommended for a solo traveler.

The hostel is in a great location and the owner is very professional and communicative. I had to cut my stay short in the female dorm as the hostel also caters to long term guests and there was an unsavory character staying in the female dorm, controlling the aircon and if changed mentioned, would argue with you. This ruined my stay and seemingly creates an unpleasant atmosphere

The vibe is not that of a backpackers hostel at all. Most of the guests seem to be long term male college students. I did not see any other foreigners at all, and I did not see any women in the common spaces ever. I did not feel welcomed. I booked female dorm and upon check in they moved me to a mixed dorm, I was open to it but I did not feel comfortable once I felt the vibe in the room. Honestly confused about the high ratings of this hostel. I usually stay in hostels for knowledgeable staff and location (vibes are a plus) and this had neither. Staff were literally never at the desk and gave no info about the area on check in. Also the location was quite sketchy with rats running round outside. Barely any comfy common space, which meant there were no vibes either. Showers were cold (although not that grimy which was honestly the only not terrible thing about this place).

It‘s some good place if you want to stay for one night. But if you are solo and want to connect to people i would not recommend you this Hostel

It all started with me booking a 4 bed mixed dorm but got putted in a 8 bed male dorm!! the pople staying there had 0 respect for others in terms of being loud at the night almost having a small party 12 pm! the kitchen and toilets aswell as the rooms smell smoke and cigarets 90% of the time!

I’ve stayed at this hostel multiple times now, and every experience has been amazing. The hostel is always clean, well-maintained, and has such a great vibe. One of the best parts is the crowd — I’ve met some really nice people here and always ended up having a fun time. I’ve been staying at Happinest Hostel for the past month, and from the very first day I felt this place was different from other hotels or stays. The rooms, the hostel atmosphere, the reception staff, and even the co-workers here make it feel more like a home than a hostel. Overall a pleasant stay. The property is in a good location and staff friendly. The 3 showers were out of order when I arrived but was resolved quickly and the showers were a bit unclean however beds were comfy and clean. Water pressure was variable and sometimes made showering challenging. But overall a decent stay.

This was my first ever hostel stay, and the Happinest team made sure it won’t be my last. As a first timer, I had plenty of concerns around cleanliness, safety, privacy, and most importantly, whether I could adapt to sharing a room after more than a decade of living solo, even at home. great location in bandra, station, stores, restaurants around. friendly staff,tv and smoking area great to share with people...very good place to stay

Great hostel. Friendly staff. I get along well with the dormmates also. One advantage is that the hostel is quite close to the railway station so great accessibility. Theres a washing machine for doing laundry and theres a small stove for making small things like eggs and making tea. Overall this is a good hostel to stay at and you'll meet a lot of interesting people.

Great hostel in the back streets of Bandra West amongst a fun locals market, with train station close by and great restaurants. Staff were lovely and the vibe was great, met some amazing people here!

Happinest was a really good choice for me. I felt very safe during my stay and the staff was very helpful when rebooking my room. You have the chance to prepare SMALL meals in the kitchen and it's a great space to meet people. Everyone living there was super nice and we used to watch movies at night:) The hostel is not too far from the train station, otherwise there is not really too much in walking distance (shops), but enough autos available. It was pretty clean with filtered water available
