- I originally chose Tia Chela Hostel because the Booking listing showed it as pet-friendly. To be safe, I even went in person before booking and was told twice that dogs were accepted. I arrived with a 3-month-old puppy. The puppy had a small accident on a rug. I immediately apologized and offered to clean it myself or pay for a proper wash (local laundry quoted around 5,000 COP). Instead, the owner demanded 50,000 COP, then changed her position and said they don’t accept pets at all. The next day she came to my room and told me to pay or leave, even though I had already paid for two more nights. On the day of checkout, I found the front gate locked with a chain; I could not leave the property until staff arrived. Being locked inside unless I paid is unacceptable and felt dangerous. I called the police to get out and resolve the situation. During the dispute I was told, “go back to your country,” and “you don’t have money,” which I experienced as xenophobic and offensive. No traveler should be spoken to like this. Other problems: The property feels old and worn. The Wi-Fi did not work, so I had to use my own mobile data to work. After my stay, I noticed the pet-friendly note was no longer visible on the Booking listing, adding to the sense of contradictory and shifting policies. I have reported this case to Booking so they can review the safety concerns and the inconsistency of the pet policy. A platform like Booking is generally professional and safe, and I believe listings that behave this way should be thoroughly reviewed. A person working there entered my room without any consent..without asking my permission to take a thing that I borrowed from that I was going to give very soon but they just enter my room and took it. Bottom line: I do not recommend this hostel to anyone, whether you’re from Colombia or visiting from abroad. My experience was stressful, unsafe, and handled in a highly unprofessional manner. Also the police tried to take money from me

- Al momento de llegada al hotel cansados de un día de playa el check-in demorado casi una hora llenando formulario y luego piden documentos para hacer revisión y nosotros cansados con ganas de ducharnos y comer y descansar El closet de la habitación tenía las puertas cerradas con seguro y no pudimos abrir encontré la habitación sucia igualmente el baño no hubo servicio de limpieza de la habitación pero al llegar al hospedaje me hicieron el cobro 35.000 por gastos de servicios de aseó y mantenimiento de la habitación y no hubo suministro de toallas por parte del hospedaje terminan alquilando las toallas a los huéspedes..

- Los anfitriones son extremadamente groseros, poco cordiales. Nos tocó irnos antes del tiempo, en la noche y buscar otro alojamiento, porque nos trataron súper mal, por algo que no hicimos y nos acusaron injustamente, algo de lo que ellos deben hacerse responsables en el mantenimiento de sus instalaciones.

- Un hospedaje demasiado precario, no incluye toalla, ni papel higiénico, ni jabón, nada la verdad.

+ Las personas que atienden son muy queridas

- No me gustó que no tiene baño privado, debes compartir con muchas habitaciones y eso es terrible ya que en mi reserva específica baño privado, la habitación es muy pequeña, no tienen televisión y tampoco incluye el uso de toallas para secarte. En la publicación aparece varias habitaciones y varios espacios, pero debes compartir con todas las personas que estén en el momento del hospedaje.

- estaba sucio, el trato no fue para nada agradable, no se respeto el silencio en ningún momento, incluso colaboradores del hostal permanecieron despiertos y haciendo ruido hasta la madrugada (música, risas, voces altas).

+ La habitación tenía aire acondicionado y las camas eran cómodas, pero éramos 3 y solo teníamos dos enchufes. Tiene un balcón lindo para tomar aire.

- No tienen agua caliente en el baño, lo cual es una gran incomodidad. Además, después de las 22:00 no se puede salir porque cierran la puerta con llave. Si bien en nuestro caso nos abrieron para salir a buscar comida, esto resulta incómodo y poco práctico. La dueña es muy amable, pero no podemos decir lo mismo de su esposo. Llegamos tres chicas de noche con equipaje, y nos atendieron desde la reja, haciéndonos esperar afuera hasta confirmar nuestra reserva. Les pedimos que nos dejaran entrar para que el taxista pudiera irse sin dejarnos solas en la calle, pero no solo no accedieron, sino que su actitud fue poco agradable.

- El personal y el recibimiento. El check in nos lo hizo un niño y despues nadie vino a explicarnos nada ni a darnos indicaciones, poca cercanía y falta de acogimiento.

+ Cancele la reserva por problemas climáticos en la zona. El personal fue muy amable y no me cobraron

+ Gracias en la estadía de la tía chela, Muy bueno el lugar y el precio ajustado.

+ Excelente atención desde el ingreso hasta la salida, buen servicio y aseo, desayunos deliciosos y muy puntuales a la hora de desayunar, recomiendan lugares para visitar y te ayudan pidiendo el transporte para donde quieras ir. Volvería sin dudar.

- Un poco retirado de las playas excepto la Bahia de Santa Marta.

+ La habitación cómoda, limpia, la verdad muy acogedora. El trato de Maria y Ana, excelente, muy buenas personas, hospitalarias y muy respetuosas, siempre dis puestas a servir, café 24/7 como me gusta, en la cocina no faltó nada, todo siempre dispobible.

- Qué pena decirlo, lo único que no me gustó, fue que los dias fueron muy cortos, se me fueron muy rápidos, y no fue culpa del hostal Tia Chela.

+ Es un lugar realmente acogedor que te ofrece absolutamente todo lo necesario (cocina, lavandería, sector con transporte, espacios amplios, muy limpio) no tuvimos problemas de ningún tipo durante nuestros 6 dias de estadía

- Solo como recomendación la ventilación del baño en nuestra habitación no era la mejor, sin embargo, esto no afectó para nada la habitación, no era acerca de mal olor, solo que se concentraba el calor demasiado
