This hostel was so gross. Our room smelt of actually dog s*** and felt incredibly damp inside. Was difficult to breath while in there it was so bad. And the room is cramped with 6 individual beds in one tiny room. Kitchen and everything in it is dirty and gross, nothing in there seems to be getting washed properly. Absolutely zero social atmosphere at all. Was told we could get breakfast in the morning and then at 7:30am everyone working was leaving and we were told to pay now.
Unser Zimmer wurde anscheinend doppelt gebucht, daher wurden wir in ein anderes Hostel geschickt mit dem Versprechen wir würden die gleichen Konditionen bekommen (ein Privatzimmer). Beim anderen Hostel stellte sich dann raus, dass es allerdings nur geteilte Zimmer frei wären und dass das auch dem Hostal Tortuga mitgeteilt wurde.
Our room was apparently double booked, so we were sent to another Hostel with the promise we would get the same conditions (ein Privatzimmer). be andere Hostel it then turned out that there were allerdings only shared rooms available and that this was also notified to Hostal Tortuga.
Arrivé à le midi on m'annonce que la chambre privé que j'avais réservé pour 2 nuits pour pouvoir m'étaler n'est pas dispo que je dois dormir pour une nuit dans leur autre hôtel à 500m puis ils prendrons mes affaires le lendemain dans la journée. + J'ai du payer en 2x une fois à chaque hotel et faire 2 check-in! En + à tortuga viajera wifi 2G donc quasi pas internet! Aucun geste pour les inconvénients causés ! Et le comble est que j'ai pleins de piqure de punaise de lit!!!
Arrived at noon I was told that the private room I had booked for 2 nights so I could spread out is not available that I have to sleep for a night in their other hotel 500m away and then they will take my things the next day in the day. + I had to pay in 2x once at each hotel and make 2 check-in! En + à tortuga viajera wifi 2G so practically no internet! No gesture for the inconvenience caused ! And the comble is that I have lots of bed bug bites!!!
Bloedheet, geen ramen in de kamer en geen frisse lucht.
Bloody heat, no windows in the room and no fresh air.
I was in the dorm. Thankfully I was the only one because there were to many beds crammed into this room. No room for luggage. The curtains were not covering the window. The staff didn’t speak English, which is ok. Insufficient power outlets. And the entrance is filled with small stones so you easily trip - which I did and hurt my foot. The staff, when I mentioned this, acknowledged the problem but were completely unapologetic. Don’t go - there are far better dorms in the city!

ansich ganz gut, liegt etwas außerhalb und nachts muss man über relativ dunkle straßen gehen. Küche ist spärlich ausgerüstet und Personal relativ langsam
The kitchen is poorly equipped and the staff is relatively slow.
Deux fourchettes pour tout l’hostel, pas de lumière dans la salle de bain, une serviette pour deux, pas de brosse pour toilettes. Ambiance très calme, voire néant. Le matin les gens parlaient fort à 7h. Il y avait écrit « petit déjeuner » mais on en a pas vu la couleur a l’hostel. Le personnel est présent mais pas forcément avenant
Two forks for the whole hostel, no light in the bathroom, one towel for two, no toilet brush. Very quiet atmosphere, if anything. In the morning people were talking loudly at 7am. It said breakfast but we didn't see the color of it in the hostel. The staff is present but not necessarily pleasant
This hostel isn’t the most practical one. It’s location is kind of far from the center and especially if you have to get there in the evening it seems scary because you need to walk through many dark and local streets. Also the kitchen wasn’t clean at all and full with ants. The dorm and host is nice but overall it’s not that good. We stayed just one night and then switched which was a good idea.
Le personnel de l’hostel était très aimable. Vous êtes environ à 10mn du centre à pied ce qui est super. En revanche, une tonne de fourmis rouge dans les draps des lits, sur les murs, des lézards également dans les chambres… Le fenêtre donnant directement sur la rue était également casée (le volet), j’étais seul dans l’hostel me demandant si j’étais la seule cliente de l’hôtel.
The staff at the hostel was very friendly. you are about 10 minutes walk from the center which is great. on the other hand, a ton of red ants in the bed sheets, on the walls, lizards also in the rooms... the window looking directly on the street was also closed (the shutter), I was alone in the hostel wondering if I was the only guest of the hotel.

This place was awesome. Exactly what we needed! The back patio was super nice to hang out on. It was quiet, only a few other people at the time we stayed there for 5 days, but that was fine with us. We like the quiet. Leticia, Luis, and the other caretaker I didn’t get the name of were all great. My boyfriend was sick and the owner of the hostal drove us to the hospital for no charge. It was very sweet of him to go out of his way to help us. We highly recommend.

Es un lugar totalmente muy bonito y agradable, se puede descansar muy bien, tiene una sala trasera que se sienta una sona de paz tambien las habitaciones muy limpias igual que todo el hostal, lo recomiendo
It is a totally very nice and pleasant place, you can rest very well, it has a back room that feels a tone of peace also the rooms very clean just like the whole hostel, I recommend it
Lindo lugar, muy limpio las camas muy limpias, atención muy agradable la terraza me encantó. Está más quw recomendado! Todos sus colores le dan paz y mucha armonía.

Es un lugar muy cálido el personal altamente amable y te sugiere opciones para hacer en la isla. La terraza muy linda para pasar relajados, una sala.de estar con TV netflix gratis, Café gratis , cocina equipada, sábanas muy limpias y habitaciones muy limpias. Volvería nuevamente linda experiencia para descansar y pasarla bien.
It's a very warm place the staff is very friendly and suggests options to do on the island. the terrace is very nice to spend relaxing, a living room with free netflix TV, free cafe, equipped kitchen, very clean sheets and very clean rooms. it would be a nice experience to rest and have fun again.

It was very nice, very appreciate the single beds, not bunk beds in dormitory. But the services of renting scooter was very dissapointed. I rented scooter for 2 days for 25$, but next day the guy wants 11$ more. He said his coleague didn’t be able to rent me a scooter. So why she rented it to me? She called someone for price and technicals about scooter, so I didn’t get where was a problem. When I give back the keys, this guy wants 25$ more because of scratches which I didin’t do. Don’t ...
Loved our stay! Staff are friendly and very helpful. Great kitchen and mini gym. Scooters available for rent. Breakfast is a little small but overall good place for a few nights. Quiet and right outside of town!
This is a really nice hostal. impeccably clean, plenty of space, and the staff was genuinely friendly/helpful. Stayed here for 3 nights in a group of 4, and really enjoyed it, highly recommend
I loved my stay at this hostel. The staff were so helpful towards us. They made us free breakfast, gave us lifts and sorted us out activities for the day. It had a really nice, chilled atmosphere with a garden, gym, kitchen and lots of private rooms valued at a great price. Would happily stay here again.

The staff at the hostel was very friendly. you are about 10 minutes walk from the center which is great. on the other hand, a ton of red ants in the bed sheets, on the walls, lizards also in the rooms... the window looking directly on the street was also closed (the shutter), I was alone in the hostel wondering if I was the only guest of the hotel.
Our room had an awful smell because it was close to a place with a lot of dogs and the rooms would smell like dog sh*t. And why do they have dogs closed in a minimum space??! Also, the beds were not comfortable. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly!
Amazing place, nice private room. The best food. owner are great The staff are extremely nice. I would recommend most to stay here. I love this house is very clean and the back yard is really nice.
