Hostal Casa Moreno

Pool was not working the whole time I was there. Said there was AC, there was not. You have to buy a towel here can’t rent one. Usually they give you deposit back and I asked the one person at night if this is how it worked they said yes and then said no in the morning. Not really social no vibe really at all. Nice lookout on the top though. Dorms and bathrooms really clean and well kept though!

Very basic hostel. Dorm was very hot. there were no plugs by the bed. woman at the reception gave very bad vibe, guy was friendly. could rent scooters there so that was a plus. Also location was convenient.

Leider war ich hier nicht glücklich. Das Personal spricht wenig bis kein Englisch, einfache spanische Sätze enden im Chaos, dreckiger Pool und das Hostal liegt in einer dunklen Ecke. Es gibt keine Gemeinschaftsküche. Diverse Gäste - auch ich - wechselten mehrfach die Zimmer. Die Ausflüge sind schlecht beschrieben. Positiv ist die Rollervermietung durch Mario sowie die Erklärung von Ometepe Island bei Ankunft.

No hot shower and 3 mins extra walking is needed if you stay at dorm room which is a long walk during midnight. The dorm without ac is not worth a stay. The pool is good but they need to clean the pool chairs. It comes with spider net.

they really tried to nickel and dime us during our stay. Refilling my coffee and charging me the next day, charging me $15usd for a scratched sticker on my rental scooter throught the hotel, threatening to charge me for dirty bed sheets after my 3 night stay (they didn't clean the room the whole time). Otherwise the hotel was clean, and the only open spot I could find on the island with a/c and a pool during a 100deg heatwave.

We got overcharged as they added A/C without consulting us that it was optional and we had to pay regardless. They also have signs everywhere about if you stain sheets or damage things you will pay certain amounts. It made you paranoid and felt you couldn’t relax or make yourself at home without the fear of being charged for something else. Odd atmosphere where the staff gather in the reception making it a hostile environment for ‘outsiders’. We rented scooters from here no trouble.

I would steer clear of this place. The hostel itself looked really nice, and clean and in a great location, but I showed up after having booked far in advance, and they told me there were no rooms, so I'd have to go to the hostel next door. I didn't love that, but the place next door looked nice too so I wasn't too bothered. After she had talked to the owner of the next door hostel, I was relocated yet again to a small hostel down the street with almost no amenities, in a much worse location, wi...

Wir waren leider enttäuscht vom Aufenthalt. Im 3er Zimmer hat es modrig gerochen, es hatte Schimmel an den Wänden. Die Toilette konnte nicht gespült werden, da das Wasser immer lief. Der Pool und die Liegen waren schön. Roller konnte man mieten und es gab vorab auch eine kleine Instruktion mit Fahrt auf einem Feld.

Pool which is nice. Location isnt great, especially walking back at night. Very quiet which I liked but definitely no atmosphere or conmunal areas to meet

Emplacement près du centre, mais très bruyant. Difficile de dormir même avec des earplugs. Personnel sympathique, mais parle seulement en espagnol. Possibilité d'organiser des activités sur place. Belle piscine. Chambre propre et air climatisée fonctionne très bien. Par contre, eau froide dans la douche et il y avait seulement 1 lumière sur 3 de fonctionnelle. Pas de cuisine ni de frigo à disposition pour les clients.

I came to Ometepe straight from Managua and decided to spend the afternoon and the night in Moyogalpa. Casa Moreno was my choice where to stay. The hostel is not far away from the main street. The building is amazing and the staff were really friendly. The rooms were clean and the breakfast this morning was really good. Unfortunately, I had plans and needed to leave but I will come back for sure to spend a couple of days in Moyogalpa.

this hostel was lovely, very clean and great hang out areas. we rented scooters from the hostel for $15/day, it was easy and convenient. the staff was super friendly and helpful! the only thing we wish is that there were a kitchen! but they have cheap breakfast and coffee and have a restaurant for any meals at any time. overall a great stay!

property was lovely, the staff were rude and when we checked out she tried to make us pay for new bedding claiming we stained ours but when we asked to see she wouldn’t show us and just let us leave(?) just a way to make money I assume

Good stay whilst traveling Ometepe - also safe parking for bikes.

Really nice place to stay in Ometepe! Nice chill place with a really nice pool. You can't use the kitchen for cooking though. Overall would definitely stay again!

Will not stay anywhere else when in that area on Ometepe. Absolutely enjoyed everything about it. Breakfast was fantastic. Even great coffee lol

Simple but efficient hostel, rather clean, locks in the rooms, great pool. It is hot in the rooms and the fan is noisy. Not enough staff, not very nice but helpful. Too bad that the use of the kitchen is not free.

Good location. Nice staff. Bit of confusion at check in as we’d booked a room for four but turns out the room price is for two with a $9 extra charge per person for the other two.. it was in quite small print at the end of the confirmation email. Good location, great view from the roof terrace, good big pancakes and coffee at breakfast (100 Córdoba).

The lady that helped us with the activity’s was really nice, she put a lot of effort in it. The room was nice and they had a lot of fans so we weren’t hot. Everything was clean. The only thing that maybe could be better are the plugs. The room we stayed at didn’t had a lot of plugs. Only 1 bed had a plug for it self and the rest shared one bigger outlet where the fan was. The WiFi was not the best but it worked so that’s good. We had a good experience here
