A moldy cup of coffee was left in the common space, for so long that every time i went to use the washroom i gagged on the smell, the rooms were hot, loud and bright. the rooms were clean enough no bedbugs and the staff were nice enough. and the location was good for getting around downtown during the day but defenetly on the sketchy side. for the price this is not somewhere i would reccomend anyone stay.

Although a lot of the reviews are complaining about the mess in the rooms, it’s a hostel -and a decent stay! Bring your own disinfectant wipes and ask for extra sheets at the desk if you’re worried. It’s a good location and a ten minute Uber from the PNE. Sheets smelled fresh out of the washing machine and no signs of bedbugs! The first layer of mattress cover had a big crusty stain - probably a spill, but there were two- three layers of sheets on top, therefore it wasn’t an issue. Only two outlets, so if you’re staying with a friend make sure to take turns charging your phone while the fan is plugged in. Had a great sleep, other than the occasional noisy seagull. Bring ear plugs just in case! Overall, had a great experience and the front desk staff were lovely and accommodating.

The room was dirty, The floor squeaks everytime some one walks and there was no time that no one was moving around. Reception is non existent The share bathroom is dirty and mouldy. The windows don't close properly. The street noise kept us awake all night. We did not feel safe going out after dark. The note on the door reminds everyone to keep their valuables safe because there is a thief around The smell of mull wafts in to the room constantly. I will never recommend this place to anyone whether a solo traveller or group. Pick somewhere else

Location, amenities, and service for the price and place honestly were pretty good for a hostel. I’d be tempted to use them again for now no nonsense the place is (would almost say worth any trade offs for its proximity to the city & metro). Unfortunately, I had a bedbug problem my last two nights. Caught one as evidence to present as I checked out. No one else seemed to have a problem but it really made me regret my stay. Survived my last night there, but wish I had stayed somewhere else to have avoided th

WARNING BED BUGS. Mattress had no bed cover, had rips throughout def needs to be replaced. My partner and I woke up with bed bugs bites all over. I know it’s cheap but facilities are worse than the cheap price you pay in my opinion. Mold all over the bathrooms. Beware it’s in a rough neighbourhood, lots of drug addiction around.

Old structure with history. As expected, amenities are limited. A toilet cubicle without a lavatory to wash hands. Bathroom is a 2.25 sq m shower with another 2.25sq m portion to dry oneself. Definitely fit for a mariner but not with somebody weighing more than 200 pounds. No bed bugs. No A/C. Just a small fan that does not rotate. Laundry is open on 5-11 pm timeslot. Located in downtown Vancouver, walking distance to almost all must-see places in Vancouver. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. No elevator so you have to bring your own luggage up the stairs. For a short stay in Vancouver, it's worth the price.

BEDBUG ALERT!!!!! I spent two days in this St Clair hotel (August 10th-12th/ 2nights and 3days/total $147) --- me and my boo chose this hotel because of the location seems convenient. BUT WE DIDNT PAY FOR THE BEDBUGGGGG!!! First night and second night, both night we saw the bedbugs, crawling on our bed sheet. (When I opend my eyes in the first morning, one bedbug is right next to me head and the other one was on the floor. GROSSSSS) And worst part-- when we kill one of them on the wall, that bedbug popped with blood(that probably mine)!!! We are trying to complain about this on the second day-- but they are NOT always there, 24hours. We had a busy schedule and just left but definitely we both strongly agreed that we need to write a review for this hotel. Cheap facilities, molding and funky smell, parking was not even available(we paid for the parking at private parking spot as this hotel suggested), but it's all okay, we pay for what we paid. But Bedbug --- I've been travel alot, and this is my first place where I able to meet the bedbugs group. We both couldnt sleep well. I freaked out because I worried that I might bring those bug with my suitcase to NYC. I would NEVER, EVER come back here again!!!!!!!!!
