Downtown Hostel

Tried to overcharge us by $10, luckily we read the reviews as they seem to do this to everyone :/ The mattresses are covered with plastic ( possible previous bed bugs ) which is uncomfortable and noisy. On a positive note the showers were hot and good pressure, albeit not the cleanest. The staff were not the friendliest. Would not recommend.

Nice rooms and very nice hostel bathrooms! The mattress was wrapped in plastic but i didn’t really notice. I guess it is better than bedbugs. Friendly staff and a very helpful receptionist

I had a really good stay at this hostel . - Is clean , lovely staffs , bed are so comfortable , they have air con and big lockers . Simple and good breakfast . And an amazing location . 🚩🚩 BUT they should stop to put the currency in USD . In booking .com it was 5 dollars and I payed much more than it, I felt scammed , I wanna pay in kip not usd dollars . We are in Laos not American . So no reason for them charge us with usd . - they have good location - curtain on the bed - toilet outside the room - shoes should be forbidden inside the room to avoid bed bugs and dirty .

Had a pretty good stay here. Seems to have dealt with the alleged bedbug problem, where none to be seen or spoken about during our 5 days here. The breakfast is alright, rooms were really clean and had good storage (private room). The bathroom had a bit of a sewer stench at times and it’s didn’t quite have the social feel of a hostel. But a nice quite place with a nice location FYI the internet was a bit on and of (seems like a common thing in Luang Prabang) and the outlets by the bed in our room wasn’t working

It’s a good hostel, we found everything clean and the breakfast was OK (too much omelette options, there wasn’t a great variety to choose from). We had read about bed bugs and we were a bit scared but everything went fine. The beds are comfy, the A/C is a bit noisy and won’t cool down the room like it should, but enough to get a proper sleep without sweating. Showers and bathrooms were great and always clean. It is located very near to the night market and the Mekong River.

There was a slight tilt to my mattress which was a bit annoying but other than that, everything was good. The showers in the dorms are quite small but we ended up using the ones in the corridor area and that was well kept and clean.

Sûrement l'un de mes meilleurs hostels au Laos! Je suis déjà venue il y a 5 ans et j'ai clairement vu la différence, tout a été refait et repensé. J'ai dormi dans un dortoir pour 4, c'était calme, les lits sont super confortables et moelleux (chose rare ici), il y a des rangements pour le lit et dans la chambre, un mini ventilateur chacun, la clim. Les salles de bain sont modernes et très propres (chose rare aussi ici). Le petit déjeuner est inclu et est incroyable, variété de choix, fruits et boissons à volonté. Il y a de l'ambiance tout en restant calme, c'était parfait pour moi. Il y a même un billard à disposition. Le réceptionniste a réservé mon ticket de train et m'a même proposé d'envoyer mes affaires non autorisées (couteau etc) gratuitement jusqu'à mon prochain hostel (bon j'espère qu'elles arriveront 🤣) J'avais peur car j'avais vu des commentaires sur les punaises de lit, il n'y en avait pas lors de mon séjour, et je les ai vus traiter des matelas avec un produit !

Au premier abord la chambre paraissait nickel. Malheureusement je me suis faite piquer par des punaises de lit dans le dortoir de 8 lits. Ce n'est vraiment pas marrant de se faire piquer par des punaises de lit! Sinon l'accueil était bien.

I got bed bugs here and ruined my time in Laos. Do not stay here, they did nothing to help.

BEDBUGS DO NOT STAY HERE. I woke up with about 30-40 bites on my arm, face, leg and butt (see picture below). I went to reception to ask for a different room and they said they were all full and they would change the sheets for me (of course this doesn't do anything at all, since they could have been hiding in the walls, curtains or floorboards). We read other reviews that said people tried to get a refund and the owners laughed in their face. Other people said that they told other guests in the hostel about what was happening and the owners threatened to call the police. Out of concern for our safety, we decided to book another hostel for the night and didn't even bother asking for a refund. Instead, we came back for the free breakfast the next day. Overall, the staff were not helpful at all and were definitely not taking the bedbugs seriously. I would even say that they were unpleasant to deal with and the whole time i got the feeling they were just trying to take advantage of people's money. Whenever you run into this, it's likely that most beds are infested since they travel from bed to bed. The only way to take care of this is to close off the room and fumigate which they absolutely do not do.

BED BUGS here. Woke up with 30 bites all over me. I went to tell reception, and they told me all they could do is change the sheets and spray the mattress. They definitely don't fumigate the rooms and after looking at the reviews on Google we discovered that this is an ongoing problem at this place. They didn't tell the other guests in our room or give us or anyone else and opportunity for a refund. Seems like they just didn't want to loose the business and were keeping it hush hush.

This was hands down the worst place I have ever stayed. The premises are old, in bad shape and they have a severe problem of bedbugs that the management keeps on ignoring. There's a lot of noise at night, even though they have signboard of rules that says no noise after 10PM is allowed, the staff ignores completely if people are still yelling after midnight. We went looking for another place after 2nd night of not being able to sleep due the drunk guests and staff.

THEY HAD BEDBUGS EVERYWHERE SOMEONES HAIR ON BED BEDBUGS BEDBUGS AWFUL It was very horrible and dirty with rude service. · The dirtiness, the rude service, the broken Air conditioner and broken heater, the shower not hot only cold, the room was dirty. The hotel looked worse than a motel. Would not recommend this to no one.We have to leave and request for a refund but he decline.the manager laughed in my face. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. BEFORE YOU WANT TO STAY ,YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY THINKS ABOUT IT

- MAFIA HOSTEL. THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM ME AND THEY ARE TREATING ME, CHARGING ME SOMETHING I DIDN'T BUY. DON'T GO. - The receptionist girl in the morning is SUPER RUDE. - They are currently trying to cancel my stay after I leave the place with an argument to avoid a bad review on Booking. - The receptionist denied to sell me a minivan ticket to Vang Vieng because she was angry with me. She didn't like that I tell her she has to treat me nicely and that she doesn't need to be rude... We actually had an argument about that and she didn't want to apologize at all. What kind of treatment is that for a client? - Bed bugs. I woke up all bitten up one day. - Showers where dirty and they never cleaned it. - They never clean the AC. It was really dusty and I found an used condom in the top of it. - The fruit in the breakfast couldn't be worse. It was on really bad state. - Worst Wi Fi ever. I had to use all my data in my cellphone.
